1 This portal provides access to online training for Smiths Medical products. You need a registration code to access the portal. Registration codes are issued by the Smiths Medical Professional Services Department. Contact your facility educator for this code or the professional education department at online.education@smithsmedical.com. This code will allow you to set up an account with the Smiths Medical Online Training Portal The Smiths Medical Online Portal can be accessed from any PC that connects to the internet and meets the following requirements: Internet Explorer 5.x or above Speakers for audio portion of many of the modules Browser with Flash plug-in installed Visit the Adobe web site for the system requirements: Some modules require the use of Adobe PDF Reader which can be obtained free of charge here: Note: You may need to set the resolution of your monitor to 1280 x 1024 in order to view some of the training modules. To change your screen resolution, right click on your desktop, select Properties, select the Settings Tab, and change your screen resolution here. 1

2 Once you have a Registration Code from your facility enter it in the form field Registration Code under Create Account. And then click on Continue. After you enter your Registration Code it is time to set up your personal account. This is a two page process. 2

3 For page one of the registration process, complete all the fields on the Create New User Account page and then click on the Next button. 3

4 On page two of the registration process, complete all the fields. Those marked with a red asterisk are required to proceed. 4

5 Once you are logged into the system, you will see a list of the training material under the Courses you have been assigned. Click on the course name to launch the session. 5

6 The course module lists the steps you will need to complete the Course, Test, and Evaluation. The header lists the course module and a description of the material and course material length. The first step is Course. Selecting this will list the training material you need to review in order to take the test. Click on the course name to launch the training program. In this example it is CADD -Solis Course. After you watch/interact with the training material, you will launch and take the test. Please note that some videos may also include a test. These are practice tests only. You must select Test on the left menu to enter the Testing module that will provide a score/grade and certificate. Upon completion of the test you will be required to complete an evaluation of the course material and then will have the option of printing a certificate of completion. 6

7 At this point, click on the course link to get to this page. Click on the Full Screen button to launch the training material. The Full Screen button will ensure that the entire training module is displayed without the need for scrolling. Note: You may need to set the resolution of your monitor to 1280 x 1024 in order to view some of the training modules. To change your screen resolution, right click on your desktop, select Properties, select the Settings Tab, and change your screen resolution here. After you are done with the training module, close the window by clicking on the X located on the upper right corner of the window. The example below is for the CADD -Solis Pump Training Module, however the process is similar for all training courses. In order to Start and Pause the videos or interactive modules look for these symbols: Play buttons typically looks like this: Pause buttons typically look like this: These symbols can generally be found in the player bar at the bottom of the screen. If it is not visible, hover your cursor over this area to display. You are now prepared to take the test. 7

8 Click on the Test button on the left menu bar Next, click on the Take Test button. The test length and type will depend on the product. The description in the header will tell you the name of the test and the number of questions. 8

9 If you are unable to complete the entire test at one time, click on the Save button. You will be able to log-in at a later date and finish where you left off. Upon completion of the test click the Complete button. The next screen will display your score and a message indicating if you passed or not. If you did not pass the test you will be permitted to take the test again. To review your scored test, you can click on the number under the Attempt column. This will open your test for review. A red X indicates an incorrect response. If you passed the test you will now submit an evaluation form. Click on the Take Evaluation button. 9

10 Upon completion of the Evaluation, click on the Complete button You will now have the option of printing a certificate of completion that is suitable for framing. 10
