A 1553 binary support file may be provided as a dynamic linked library (.dll file extension) or as an archive (.a file extension). A 1553 binary support file is provided for each of the hardware and operating system combinations. For Linux and VxWorks applications, one of the 1553 archive (.a extension) files must be linked with either the Acromag demonstration program or user s application program. A Windows C/C++ application is typically linked against the import libraries (.lib extension) when it is built. At runtime the corresponding dynamic linked libraries (.dll file extension) are then automatically loaded for use by the application. Acromag, Inc. Tel:

5 IOSSW-API-WIN To add 1553 API support to a development system where IOSSW-API-WIN is already installed: Locate the update installation program on the EDK media IP-IOS570-EDK\Windows\IOSSW-API-WIN_Update\setup.exe and run it on the development system. A readme file will be displayed listing the files that have been added to IOSSW-API-WIN along with their locations. IOSSW-API-WIN 3.0 ( C) or later must be present for the installer to succeed. If there is a need to update a system manually, all files are also available uncompressed in the files directory. IP-IOS570-EDK\Windows\IOSSW-API-WIN_Update\files\ The structure of this directory mirrors that of an IOSSW-API-WIN installation. Copy the necessary files to their new location. To add 1553 API support to the I/O Server: Copy I571.dll and emacr_32.dll to the libraries directory. C:\Program Files\Acromag\IO Server\libraries\ The system s PATH environment variable already includes this directory allowing the system to locate the DLLs when running your application. If you wish to run the demo project: Copy I571Demo.exe to the demos directory. C:\Program Files\Acromag\IO Server\demos\ The Deploying Applications to the I/O Server and Windows Embedded Standard Topics sections of the IOS Win32 Development Package User s Manual include useful information on deploying applications and DLLs to the I/O Server.
