4 Connecting the Cradle Before you start you must connect the Cradle to the till. Plug the power lead into the mains and connect it to the cradle. Connect the USB cable to the cradle. On the front of the till base there are two USB ports placed directly beside each other. The USB cable must be plugged into the port furthest to the RIGHT as you face the till or the Cradle won t communicate with the till. Getting to the Stocktake Routines The Stocktake function is accessible from the Menu screen. If necessary, log on to at the till. 4

5 Press the Menu button. 5

6 You will then see the Stocktake button. Before you select this please make sure the till is NOT in Training Mode as this will download the Stocktake scans into the training area. 6

7 Download Products onto the Scanner Press the Download Products to Denso button and when the Confirm is displayed. Press the PW button on the Denso scanner and press 1.Load BHT followed by 1.Full PLU. Then place the scanner into the cradle. 7

8 Press the Yes button on the till. 8

9 When the till displays the WinArtu3 dialogue window, press 1.Yes followed ENT on the Denso scanner while it is in the cradle and the download should begin. When the scanner has been loaded the WinArtu3 dialogue will report the transfer has been successful and the Exit button can be pressed. The scanner can now be lifted from the cradle and any key pressed. 9

10 Stockatake On The Hand Held 10.0 Stocktake Before starting the stocktaking function ensure that data from any other function has been uploaded/deleted and the Product PLU file has been loaded. From the Main Menu select option 4, Functions (B), then option 1, Stock Take 10.1 Product Code Entry New Stocktake Screen Adding to existing data C: C:_ Q:0003 Q:0002 At this prompt, scan or key in the product code. If the EAN/UPC option has been enabled the program will first check that the code entered is valid EAN/UPC code. If not an 'INVALID CODE' error message will be displayed. The program will then check that the code is in the Product lookup file. If not a 'CODE NOT FOUND' error message will be displayed. The user will then be given the option to add this new product to the lookup file, see 13.0 below Other Features at this screen The <.> DOT key will display the total quantity and if activated the total packs. The <F1> MENU key will return the program to the Menu. The <F2> key will enter the Search Function (see below) The <F5> UP arrow will enter the History function (see below) 10

11 10.2 Quantity Entry C: _ Q: Scanned Code - Previous Qty of this code At this prompt, either a) Scan the next code; this will save a quantity of 1 for this code then continue to the quantity entry screen for the next code (10.2) b) Key the quantity for this code. This will save the quantity entered then continue to the Product Code screen (10.1). Multiple quantities. To enter multiples use the <.> DOT key. E.g. for 12 x 23, enter 12 <.> 23 and press <ENT>. Incorrect Code To cancel an erroneously scanned product code press the <CLR> clear key. Delete record To erase the quantities saved for this product code press the <BS> key. The user is prompted to confirm. If confirmed the quantity for this code will be set to

12 10.3 Pack Entry If the Pack Entry option has been enabled then once the quantity has been entered the user will be prompted to enter the pack quantity. C: Q:0003 P:0002 Q:0002 P:_ Key the pack quantity for this code. This will save the quantity entered then continue to the Product Code screen (10.1). Other Features at this screen The <CLR> will clear the quantity entered and return to the Quantity screen (10.2). 12

13 8.5 Search Function This option allows the user to amend quantities of previously entered items. Pressing the <F2> key at the 'Scan/Key Code' prompt will display the following screen _ Search C:_ At this screen enter the product code that you want to look for or press the <F1> Menu key to return to data entry. If the entered code is found then the following screen is displayed otherwise a 'CODE NOT FOUND' error message is given. _ Search C: At this screen press the <CLR> key then re-enter the quantity and pack quantity (if enabled) as required or press the <F1> Menu key to return to the search screen (above). 8.6 History This function is entered by pressing the <F5> UP arrow key at the 'Scan/Key Code', then using the <F5> UP and <F6> DOWN arrow keys the user can scroll up and down the last 10 transactions. To return to the product screen either move to the bottom of the history record OR press the <MENU> key. Note: The bottom line shows the history record number. _ Search C:

14 13.0 Add Missing Product If code is scanned that is not recognised in the product lookup file the user is given the opportunity to add the details. C: Add Missing Code At this prompt, confirm to add the code or return to the product screen. C: _ Enter the product description using the keypad. The keys are in alphanumeric mode much like mobile phone text keys. C: BAKED BEANS 100G Enter the product price in pence. Once completed the product details saved, so that if scanned again the code will be known. 14

15 Upload scans from the Denso Scanner Press the Upload Stocktake from Denso button. 15

16 When the Confirm is displayed place the scanner into the cradle then press the PW button on the Denso scanner and press 2.Empty BHT followed by 1.Send File. This option will send the missing and data files for the stock take separately. You will first be promoted to send the Missing Data File select Yes followed by ENT on the scanner then press the Yes button on the till. 16

17 The till will display the WinArtu3 dialogue window and the upload of missing items should begin. When the scanner has uploaded the WinArtu3 dialogue will report the transfer has been successful and the Exit button can be pressed. The scanner will prompt for the missing items file to be deleted or not, take the appropriate option required. 17

18 When the Confirm is displayed you will be prompted on the scanner to send Data File select Yes on the scanner followed by ENT and then press the Yes button on the till. 18

19 The till will display the WinArtu3 dialogue window and the upload of scanned data should begin. When the scanner has uploaded the WinArtu3 dialogue will report the transfer has been successful and the Exit button can be pressed. 19

20 The stocktake confirmation screen will be displayed once the data file has uploaded. Confirm the date and time of the scan, you can also enter the scanner number in the reference field and select the name of the person who did the scanning from the dropdown list. Press the Save Stocktake button and you will be taken to the next screen. If you press Cancel the downloads will be ignored. 20

21 A Stocktake Report will be shown on screen of the items scanned. Press Print Report to print the scanned report on the till receipt printer. Press Close to complete the upload. The scanner will ask if the scanned data should now be deleted, if the uploads were successful press 1.Yes followed ENT must be selected, once the file is deleted the scanner will prompt for any key to be pressed. The scanner is then ready for the next bout of scanning. PLEASE NOTE : If you are not intending to use the scanner again then you can select No to Delete File. Always remember to delete the files using the Erase file function before starting a new stock take or if you have just received the scanners from a third party. 21
