34 5.2 Creating new recipes 5 Recipes and Alarms Configuring the target This is the condition required for the indicator to process the step. Weight When Weight is selected as target type you can enter data for the following options: 1: Weight Enter the target value. If you have received the recipe file from an indicator and wish to send it to an indicator with a different weight capacity click the button and specify the capacity. Select weight type for the target weight which can be relative gross or net or absolute gross or net. Weight Condition Select the weight condition depending whether a stable weight is required or not required. Tolerance + Enter the maximum permitted weight tolerance above the desired target weight. If the measured weight is outside of the stated tolerance, the user may be required to intervene (depending upon system configuration). Tolerance - Enter the minimum permitted weight tolerance below the desired target weight. If the measured weight is outside of the stated value automatic or manual dosing may be used to top-up the weight or other operator intervention may be requested (depending upon system configuration). Target Comp When running the recipe, there may be a predictable difference between the weight measured at shut-off and the final weight of goods on the scale, for example due to the pressure of a jet of liquid when filling. The difference in weight is known as the in-flight compensation value. It allows the scale to compensate and ensure that the target weight is met. Example 1: Filling from a hopper where 2 kg of material is in-flight when the hopper is shut off. Target comp = 2 kg. Example 2: Liquid filling, where the liquid jet exerts 12 kg of pressure on the scale. Target comp = -12 kg. Comp Type The target compensation value can be adjusted automatically by the indicator in line with the in-flight value actually encountered when the recipe runs. E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 34

35 5.2 Creating new recipes 5 Recipes and Alarms Dosing Type When the weight on the scale is under the minimum acceptable weight specified in the Tolerance - field operators can top up the weight manually or the indicator can top up the weight automatically. If set to automatic dosing the indicator reverts all outputs to their start settings for the number of seconds defined for the dosing time. Dosing Time The number of seconds the indicator maintains output start settings. Weight Link Type A target weight can be linked to the next weight in a following step or the last weight in a previous step. 2: Status When Status is selected as target type you can configure up to 4 conditions that must be true (On 1 to On 4) and 4 conditions that must be false (Off 1 to Off 4). 74 7.2 Set up the data for the PLU 7 Edit Database Set up the Tare band A tare band ensures that operators only enter an acceptable cylinder tare for the PLU to prevent under or overfilling. It is a safety feature to stop operators from trying to fill a small cylinder with a net fill which is too large. A tare band also helps to prevent incorrect tare entries affecting the totals count. Entering tare limits automatically enables this function. 1. Enter the minimum tare weight for the PLU tare band in the Low Tare Band field. 2. Enter the maximum tare weight for the PLU tare band in the High Tare Band field. 3. Select from the drop-down menu the tare band unit you want. It prevents empty cylinders with an unacceptably large marked tare weight from being filled. If the marked tare weight is too large, the displayed net weight is a negative value. If the displayed negative value is greater than the maximum negative net weight programmed in the PLU, the indicator displays the message TARE OUT OF RANGE and prevents filling. E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 74

75 7.2 Set up the data for the PLU 7 Edit Database Set up the cylinder valve weight (see page 76): In some countries such as Australia the valve on the gas cylinder is not counted as part of the cylinder tare weight. This option enables you to enter the weight of the valve which the indicator adds to the operator entered tare weight. This ensures that the filling operation is more accurate as the tare is not under weight. Set up the dose time (see page 76): This is the time the shut off valve is pulsed open during the final topping up of the cylinder after the initial filling cycle. The optimum setting depends on factors such as gas pressure and air pressure. Set the tare speed (see page 76): You can set the indicator to automatically enter the decimal point and the trailing zero when the operator enters the cylinder tare. Set the number of tare digits (see page 76): You can set the number of tare digits to be entered by the operator when using the PLU. Set the tare display size (see page 76): You can set up the display of the tare on the indicator when the operator enters it. 109 10.1 Overview 10 Fieldbus Setup 10 Fieldbus Setup 10.1 Overview The fieldbus interface must be configured using the Service Tool for Evolution series indicators. You will need to configure the inbound and outbound regions of the indicator s memory by specifying what information will be exchanged between the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and the indicator. The inbound variables are the information the indicator will receive from the PLC and the outbound variables are the information the indicator will send to the PLC. Refer to section 11.4 for a list of fieldbus variable definitions. Supported interfaces Fieldbus type fitted in connected indicator Send and receive to/from indicator (connection required) Open and save to disc E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 109

110 10.2 General settings 10 Fieldbus Setup To determine whether an optional fieldbus is fitted in an indicator: connect to the indicator click the Receive Fieldbus Setting button The fieldbus selection changes to show the type of fieldbus fitted General settings Click the interface to be configured The settings to be configured depend on the type of interface. Configure the Node Address/MAC Address/MAC ID in the range 0 to 64. Typical settings for Profibus E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 110

111 10.2 General settings 10 Fieldbus Setup Typical settings for Ethernet Modbus TCP Data formats Endian formats For data larger that 1 byte you can configure whether the data is in Intel Little Endian or Motorola Big Endian format. Example: Big Endian Format Assume a U32 variable (shown in Hex). Variable = 0x The 4 bytes are arranged in memory as follows: Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 0x12 0x34 0x56 0x78 Example: Little Endian Format Assume we have a U32 variable (shown in Hex). Variable = 0x The 4 bytes are arranged in memory as follows: Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 0x78 0x56 0x34 0x12 E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 111

112 10.2 General settings 10 Fieldbus Setup Word order Some PLC equipment requires an additional byte swapping mode to achieve compatibility. Assume a U32 variable and Big Endian mode is selected. Variable = 0x With Trade swap disabled the memory is: Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 0x12 0x34 0x56 0x78 With Trade swap enabled the memory is: Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 0x56 0x78 0x12 0x Ethernet interfaces When configuring an Ethernet interface please note the following points: If you are configuring an Ethernet Modbus TCP interface note that the settings tab displays the button. Clicking this button enables you to create a CSV file. You can then run the Automated Solution Modbus TCP OPC Server software at the PLC and select File, Import, CSV on the menus. This will configure the server to have the correct IP address and duplicate the memory map settings programmed in the Service Tool. Please remember... A Modbus TCP or an Ethernet IP option card adds an extra Ethernet interface to the indicator. This Ethernet interface should not be confused with the TCP/IP interface which is a standard feature on all indicators. If an additional Ethernet interface is fitted it is essential that the two Ethernet interfaces have distinctly separate IP addresses. E-Tools Mid Service Instructions 112

113 10.3 Fieldbus memory map 10 Fieldbus Setup 10.3 Fieldbus memory map Outbound and inbound variables with the suggested data type are listed in section To add a variable click in the first blank row. Then drop down the selection list for each column. To delete a variable highlight the item by clicking the Item or Offset box and press the delete key on the PC keyboard. The order the PLC is to receive data The position the PLC expects to receive the variable The order the PLC is to send data The start position used by the PLC to send the variable The PLC must also be configured with the same variables for the indicator so it knows what information to expect.
