3 GlobalCapture Sharp OSA Connector With the GlobalCapture OSA with QuickSearch connector, you can use GlobalCapture from Square 9 Softworks directly from your Sharp OSA enabled multifunction printers. Designed as part of your total enterprise content management (ECM) solution, the connector allows you to automatically release captured data and documents directly from your Sharp multifunction printer (MFP) to the power of GlobalCapture, for highly efficient document capture workflows right from your touch panel. With it, just scan in your documents to initiate your workflow that captures document images, index data, extract high-value data, and send notifications automatically. You can also search for and print out documents in GlobalSearch right from the control panel. For more information on Sharp Open Systems Architecture (OSA) technology, please refer the Sharp website or consult your Sharp dealer. Prerequisites To release data and documents from your Sharp OSA MFP to GlobalCapture, you will need to configure your Sharp device, configure your Import Node in a GlobalCapture Workflow (which requires administrator permissions and a Designer license), install your GlobalCapture OSA connector, and configure your GlobalCapture scanner settings. Before configuration, ensure that: You know the administrative username and password of the Sharp OSA multifunction device to be configured. You are using the latest version of GlobalCapture. GlobalCapture must be the 64-bit version. (The earliest 64-bit version of GlobalCapture is version ) You are logged into GlobalCapture using an administrator user account and a GlobalCapture Designer license. Tip: Design Workflows to Automate Capture. While you can access all your Index Fields from the MFP touch panel, use it to perform only enough data to uniquely identify documents. Then leverage the power of GlobalCapture to dynamically extract as much information about your documents as possible for Separation, Classification, and Indexing. Copy the Square9SharpConnector folder to your website s base path. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\by default. This directory contains the website and supporting files for the connector. 3. Open your Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and do the following: a. Select the Default Web Site. b. Right-click on Square9SharpConnector in the list of folders and applications. c. Click Convert to Application. d. In the Add Application dialog box, change the selected Application pool to GlobalCapture. If it is not available in the Application pools list, you have installed the connector on a GlobalCapture version lower than and will need to update to a 64-bit version of GlobalCapture. Square9SharpConnector Application Pool e. Ensure that Square9SharpConnector is running under the GlobalCapture application pool and that the user passes authentication. 4. In the Web.config file inside of the Square9SharpConnector, ensure the SharpCache, Square9Api, and CaptureApi keys correspond to the appropriate folder and URLs. 5. For MFPs with OSA v3.5 or lower: a. In the Square9SharpConnector\35 folder, navigate to the Patch folder. b. Copy all contents inside of the folder (index.html and the js folder). c. Paste the contents into the Square9SharpOSA/35 folder, overwriting all existing files. 6. Log into your browser. 7. To configure user authentication and GlobalCapture settings in the config.js file: a. Navigate to the to the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ Square9SharpOSA folder, and from there to either the n20 the subdirectory (for OSA v5.x) or the 35 subdirectory (OSA v4.5 and below). 2 GlobalCapture Sharp OSA Connector Installation GlobalCapture OSA with QuickSearch Guide

5 The GlobalCapture OSA connector supports a variety of different Sharp OSA-enabled MFPs. As the differences between Sharp OSA version 5 and above and all prior versions are not compatible, the connector ships two different versions of the website. OSA v5.x devices should point to the n20 folder. OSA versions 4.5, 4, and 3.5 should point to the 35 folder. b. Right-click on the config.js file, and from the menu, select Edit with Notepad++ or other text editor. c. If you are installing the connector with GlobalSearch and GlobalCapture and it is not already present, enter s9api: /square9api/,. If you are installing the connector with a standalone GlobalCapture instance, delete the line. d. Enter the static user credentials. Or, to configure the login screen to appear when capturing, delete from the comma at the end of the debug line to the end of the password line. Note that is you are entering a backslash, you must escape it with another backslash. Edit S9API and Credentials Configure Sharp OSA-Enabled Devices After installing the Connector, you must configure the connector setup on your Sharp MFP. (Note that some options may be named differently, depending on the MFP. Please refer to Sharp documentation for details on your MFP.) Make note of the IP address, it will be need later. 1. To configure device access, navigate to the Sharp OSA settings menu on the MFP, select Standard Application Registration and add a new Standard Application. 2. In the Application Name text box, enter "GlobalCapture." 3. In the Address for Application UI text box, enter the following information, replacing {serverip} with the IP address of the server on which you deployed the website: For OSA v 5, use For OSA v 4.5 and lower, use 4. For OSA v5.x only, in the Browser drop-down menu, select HTML Browser n Enable Extended Platform. 6. Click Submit to save your changes and add the button to your device. 6 Sharp OSA-Enabled MFP Control Panel Use GlobalCapture from Control Panel With configuration and registration complete, the connector will be available on your MFPs. Note that all GlobalCapture and GlobalSearch settings are respected; you must have Add permissions to the Archive you are releasing to, indexing data must match the data type assigned for that Field, and supported Field must have data. List, Dynamic Lists, and Data XChange are supported. Also note that if your Workflow is designed to release to multiple GlobalSearch Archives, documents originating from the MFP will only go into the first Archive it is being released to. Launch GlobalCapture Connector 1. to launch the web-based interface, select GlobalCapture from the MFP control panel. 2. 7 Authentication for GlobalCapture Capture from Control Panel 1. To scan and capture from your MFP, tap Capture. Start Screen for GlobalSearch with GlobalCapture and for Standalone GlobalCapture 2. 8 3. Select either Scan or Scan & Preview. If you choose Scan & Preview, a PDF of the scanned document will appear on the screen for you to view before releasing the file to the Workflow. Preview is only available for PDF and TIF files. 4. Adjust your scan settings for the capture, if you wish to. The settings will be specific to your MFP. After the document capture, the file will be uploaded to the GlobalCapture server and continue to load the next screen (the preview will be displayed if it was selected, and the file type of the scanned image). The screen that appears will vary depending on the release type of the Workflow selected. 5. In the dialog box that appears, enter the indexing data and tap Save. 6. To scan additional documents, tap Home and repeat steps 2 through 5. GlobalCapture Save and Preview Interface 7. To release to Archive with Data XChange (if you have GlobalSearch) in the indexing dialog box that appears, enter the indexing data to be passed to your Data XChange query. 8. Tap Data XChange. 9. On the list of Data XChange sources, select your query source. 9 Data XChange Results 10. If search results appear, select your desired results. The dialog box will appear again with the selected data copied into the indexing fields. 11. When all index data has been entered as desired, tap Save to validate the entries and release the document to the Workflow. If there are any validation errors, you will be presented with the corresponding indicators and can re-save after correcting the indexing values. After saving successfully, you will be returned to the home page. Search from OSA v5.x Control Panel If GlobalSearch is installed with an OSA v5 or higher device, QuickSearch is a simple and lightweight way to quickly search for documents in databases, preview, and print them from your MFP control panel. (Note that printing is limited to formats supported by the GlobalSearch installation.) 1. Select Search to start QuickSearch. You can return to this screen by tapping Home. Start Screen for GlobalSearch with GlobalCapture 2. In the QuickSearch interface, select a GlobalSearch database from the list of databases you have been granted permissions to. 10 Database Select 3. In <DatabaseName> interface, select an Archive. (From there you can select a sub-archive, if there are any for that Archive.) You can filter the list of Archives in the database using the search box. 4. To select a Search, click the corresponding Search ( ) icon and select one from the pop-up menu. You can return to a previous screen using the Back (arrow) icon. Select Archive 5. In the Browse <ArchiveName> interface, enter your search terms. Just like in GlobalSearch, if you do not enter any search terms, all documents available to you for the Search will be shown in the results. Also note that Pick Lists are supported. 6. Click Search. 11 Search Results Print To transfer the file as a PDF to the MFP for printing, click Print ( ). The options presented will vary based on device and may include Print, View, and Save. Select Print for print configuration options (paper size, duplex, finishing, etc.). Preview To preview the first page of the document, click Preview ( ).
