1 Technical Training Manual The following is a list of services used for the Express System. MySQL OMNIS Server User IIS JBDev700 JBDev624 Database used by JBDev Express Serves the HTML pages for the JB Developers Administrative application used only on the server. Used to launch.net one click application deployment Used for payroll deduction terminals if installed Used for access control readers if installed Backup Information The database backup is located at D:\JBDev\Express\Database\backup. Only backup this backup folder. All other folders hold the active database and could crash the application if backed up. A utility runs 4 times a day. It takes a full image of the database at 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM. It takes an image of all current information (non-historical) at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Other Server Applications Ultra VNC Viewer: About Time: Event Viewer: JBDev ExpressNetX: is loaded on the server for remote controlling and troubleshooting Express terminals. is a program that is used to keep the time set to your master time server if the server is not part of your domain and is loaded on the Express terminals. Time is synchronized every 60 minutes from boot time or program start time. is used to view information about the JBDev services, Such as when devices connect to the server and list errors. Device logging can be turned on and resets sent out. Responses can also be viewed. JB Developers User Application. 2 Express Terminals Each Express terminal runs Windows 7 Professional and uses a touch screen. The Express Terminal is covered by a three year warrantee from the manufacturer. The additional programs loaded on the terminals are as follows: 1. UltraVNC Server This is used to remote control the terminal for troubleshooting purposes. Using an UltraVNC viewer, point it to the IP address of the Express terminal. The password is jbdevexpress. You will see the screen as it is on the Express terminal. To get past the current screen, press the windows icon (send ctrl+esc) or you will need to select the icon in the upperleft corner and select the CTRL down, then press ESC to get a task bar. Note that CTRL down will stay down until you select it to lift. Lift the CTRL down and select ALT down. Press F4 several times and you will have a Windows 7 desktop. To restart the application, touch or doubleclick the application icon on the desktop or reboot the terminal. 2. About Time This is used to synchronize the time to your master time server on startup and every 60 minutes thereafter. 3. egalextouch Utility This is used to configure the touch screen and for calibration, if needed. 4. Microsoft Security Essentials Antivirus software is loaded on the Express Terminals. 5. TaskBar Eliminator Hides the taskbar. To show the taskbar, run the program Restore Taskbar.exe in the programs menu. To set it back, run Apply Taskbar Eliminator.exe in the programs menu, Startup or reboot the system. 6. JBDev ExpressNetTouch The path to load the ExpressNetTouch application is: (replace the x s with your JBDev server IP/Address) 7. Utilities (D:) Contains 2 folders, JBDev and M5. These 2 folders include programs loaded by JBDev, hardware utilities and drivers from the manufacturer.

3 Installing a Windows7 Imaged System using ExpressNetTouchX 1. Power up the terminal 2. Press the Windows key or CTRL+ESC for the Start Menu 3. If you need to view the taskbar, run Restore Taskbar.exe in the programs menu 4. Enter Control Panel in the search window 5. Select Network and Sharing Center 7. Select Properties 8. Select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and then Properties 9. Set the Static IP/Address for the location. 10. Close network settings and Control Panel 11. Connect to network 12. Run Internet Explorer to load the ExpressNetTouchX application from your server. This should be set as the default web page in IE. If it is not, the path is as follows x s being your servers IP/ Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/expressnettouchx/jbdevexpressnettouchx.htm. 13. When the application is loaded, test the terminal touchscreen, Proximity reader, Finger scanner or Magnetic Stripe Reader if applicable. Installing ExpressNet on Manager PC s 1. Microsoft.Net 3.5 SP1 will need to be loaded on their PC before you load the application. 2. To start the One click application deployment, point your browser to the following location: (replace the x s with the address of the JBDev server at your site) 3. Once you have accepted the installation of the application and loading dialog is on the screen, you may close your browser. 4. When the application is loaded, you will have a new Icon on the desktop to start the application. It is also in the programs menu.

4 Equipment Repair Procedures When sending equipment to JB Developers for repairs, please follow these instructions to ensure proper handling, delivery, and repair. Enclose a description of the problem with the returned equipment. There will be no charge for repair/replacement of defective parts within the three year warranty period. Accidental or other damage to units or any other repairs after the three year warranty period will be billed for labor, parts, and shipping. Labor is $75 per hour with a minimum charge of one hour per unit. Purchase Order is only required if the warranty has expired.
