Functional enhancements The functional enhancements specified here are related to the delivery statuses described in the table below Product identification Order Brief explanation name (type) For free download from the Internet New versions of communication software The following new versions of the Lenze communication software are installed during the installation of : Lenze communication software CAN V Lenze communication software Ethernet V Lenze communication software ADS EtherCAT V Communication via Ethernet under Windows 7 (64 Bit). The timeout time for establishing the connection via the gateways EMF2180IB and EL100 can be configured using the systembus configurator CAN. Till now, it used to take 3 seconds. 3 Search for field devices when going online via Lenze controllers When going online using the online controller as a gateway, the controller can now be made to search for connected field devices. The search can be used as follows: 1. In the Add devices dialog, select the communication path Ethernet EtherCAT via Lenze Controller or Ethernet CAN via Lenze Controller. 2. Under Interface and/or Addresses, select the All option to search for the relevant field devices. 3. Press the Insert button. The EASY Starter then adds all devices found by the controller to the device list. Going online using the Lenze controller as a gateway Select all devices in the device list There is a new button for selecting all devices in the device list. Alternatively, press Ctrl + A. 4 Fix device list The EASY Starter can view the device list even after the program is closed. When it is started the next time, the EASY Starter automatically re-establishes the connections to these devices, if possible. Devices cannot be added or removed as long as the device list is fixed. For fixing and unfixing the device list, click the pin icon under the list or press Ctrl+D. If the EASY Starter is started with the command line parameter ConstantConnect, the fixing cannot be undone, i.e. the device cannot be modified. Easier access to the frequently used devices, e.g. when using the EASY Start on one computer that is a fixed part of the machine Device simulation Simulated devices can be added to the device list for demonstrating the EASY Starter without devices. In the Add devices dialog, first select All All and then the communication path Simulation. A few simulated devices are added and parameters with live values are displayed. 5 Icon bar on the Diagnosis tab with access to fieldbus and I/O diagnosis The Diagnosis tab has an icon bar with the following buttons: Reset error Resets the active error in the device (The button was on the lower border of the tab so far.) Logbook Opens the dialog for reading out the logbook from the device. (The button was on the lower border of the tab so far.) Fieldbus diagnosis Opens a dialog that displays the status of the fieldbus interfaces. (This dialog is new in V1.3. It is present for 8400 and 9400.) I/O diagnosis Opens a dialog that displays the status of the I/O terminals. (This status replaces the current I/O terminal tab.) Online diagnosis of devices The trend can open saved records of the Engineer data logger The EASY Starter trend can open records that were saved as ltr files with the Engineer data logger. 6 Transfer and saving parameter sets improved The transfer and saving of parameter sets was improved in some points. Uploading the parameters from i700 and saving them in Beckhoff format is possible even when multiple devices in the device list are selected. Determining the number of parameters to be saved is now more practical than before. The following three selection options are present: o All o All with write access o All with write access and different from factory setting Some special cases for exchange of parameter sets between i700 single-axis and double-axis devices were improved: o Uploading and saving parameters from a selected axis of the double-axis device o Transferring single parameter set file to the selected axis of the doubleaxis device o Transferring parameters for the selected axis from the double parameter set file to the single-axis device Transfer and saving parameter sets Parameter set download possible via batch file Application Loader in The application loader can transfer parameter sets that were saved as GDC files with the Engineer or EASY Starter to the device in a batch-controlled manner. The call-up of the batch file has the following syntax: lenze.applicationloader.exe -batch script.cmd log.txt The structure of the script file can be found in the AKB documentation. This feature can be used only if a licensed version of L-force Engineer or the PLC Designer 3.x is installed on the computer, or if the relevant licence number has been entered when installing EASY Starter. 7 Transfer of parameter sets to the device, e.g. during series start-up with EASY Starter, or for initialisation of the machine using PC-based controller : L-force loader file can be transferred to a passwordprotected device Application Loader in If an L-force loader file contains a password, then the Application Loader uses it automatically for download to The following takes place in such a case: a) If the device is not password-protected, then it is locked with the password from the file after the download. b) If the device is already password-protected, an attempt is made to open it for download using the password from the file. If this is successful, the download is carried out and the device then automatically relocked with the same password. The password can be entered when exporting the file with the Engineer. It is not displayed in the Application Loader. 8 i700: Characterwise filtering when selecting variables in the oscilloscope The list of the existing variables can be filtered for variable selection by means of an input in the Search for field. Here, every entered character is immediately effective. The Search button is eliminated. (Remark: The oscilloscope in EASY Starter for i700 is an additional tab that is available only if a licensed version of L-force Engineer or the PLC Designer 3.x is installed on the computer, or if the relevant licence number has been entered when installing EASY Starter.)
