5 Integrated Management - System Management 5.2 System Management 5.2 Release Notes Avaya delivered a major release Integrated Management 5.0 in January These release notes describe the contents of a minor release, Integrated Management release 5.2. The System Management Release 5.2 which is an offer under Integrated Management release 5.2 includes the following: Enhancements in Multi-Site Administration on page 4 Enhancements in Fault and Performance Manager on page 10 Enhancements in Integrated Management Database on page 11 Enhancements in System Management Installation and Upgrade on page 12 Product Support Notices Some problems are also documented as Product Support Notices (PSN). The PSN number defines the related document and appears in the Problem column in the tables. To read the PSN description online: 1. Go to the Avaya support site at 2. 6 Integrated Management - System Management 5.2 Table 1: Enhancements in Multi-Site Administration Multi-Site Administration Support for Avaya Communication Manager Release 5.2 Support for S8300D server Support for UCID-info button on the IP and DCP sets types MSA enables users to administer the UCID-Info feature button on the station object. This new feature is available on the Button Assignment dialog boxes of the Add New Station, Change Stations, Add New Stations Template and System Manager Station (Add/Change) screens. Support for Customer-Specified Installation Directory In previous releases, the MSA application was installed at a default location '/opt/ avaya/msa'. MSA now supports the Customer-Specified Installation Directory feature in 5.2 release. Using this feature, the user can install the application at any other desired location. Support for the following new set types: 1603 SAGE IP Telephone Note: 1608 SAGE IP Telephone 1616 SAGE IP Telephone 9610SIP Telephone 9620SIP Telephone 9630SIP Telephone 9640SIP Telephone 9650SIP Telephone 16CC SIP Telephone 9670G Large Screen Telephone (Saffron) Note: There is no native support on Avaya Communication Manager (CM) for the 9670G Large Screen Telephone (Saffron). 7 Enhancements Support for new fields SIP Trunk field A new SIP Trunk field is available with 16CC, 4620SIP, 4620SIPCC, 9620SIP, 9630SIP, 9640SIP telephone set types. With this field, you can eliminate dual provisioning and integrate the administration of SIP stations between SIP-enabled services (SES) and the CM. Sac Breakthrough and Call Fwd All fields You can add, change, or duplicate new fields added to the Class of Restriction (COR) object. The new fields are available for both display and non-display telephone set types and are listed below: SAC/CF Override by Dialing? SAC/CF Override by Priority Call? SAC/CF Override Protection by Dialing? SAC/CF Override Protection by Priority Call? New fields for Call Pickup Alert button Two new pickup fields have been added to the Call-Pkup button. Another field Block Enhanced Call Pickup Alerting has been added to the COR group. Ability to refresh stations You can use the Station Cache update to automatically refresh stations that have been changed outside MSA or from TTI ports. You can schedule the task to run anytime between 1 and 12 hours. Improvement in response time The performance and speed of the server's response time to Web client requests have improved considerably. Support for external radius server To authenticate users, MSA and Integrated Management Database (IMD) have been linked with the external RADIUS server Support for cellular telephony You can detect cellular voice mails with a new field that has been added to the Station object in the System Manager (SM). 9 Enhancements Ability to list phones administered with ip softphone = y You can use the Find command to list stations that have a specific feature enabled. Restrict Last Appearance Select Last Used Appearance Switchhook Flash Survivable Trunk Destination Test Ability to view all translations Along with the reports currently available, you can also view all scheduled system translations, reports, and logs of multiple voice systems in a consolidated fashion, for a user. The default is view for all voice systems. 11 Enhancements Ability to name reports After running multiple List Station reports at once, you can give each report a unique name to allow easy identification of these reports later. Support for cos-group object Class of Service (CoS) group object can be accessed from the System Manager task view. You can list up to 100 CoS groups as well as display, change, and duplicate CoS-groups for CM release 5.0 or later. You can also change the configuration of individual CoS-group properties and edit up to 15 CoS options within a group. 12 Integrated Management - System Management 5.2 Table 2: Enhancements in Fault and Performance Manager Fault and Performance Manager Support for the RADIUS authentication of users FPM provides support for the authentication of users against the external FreeRADIUS server. Support for S8400 as an Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS). Support for the S8300D internal call controller media server. Support for the G430 media gateway with the Media Module MM118. Support for FPM as a managed element. Provision of ping service and device status notification FPM provides basic ping polling of the managed elements that enables customers to be notified when a device is unreachable. Provision of easy backup and restoration of FPM configuration data Information regarding entities like filters, collection data configuration, and scheduled reports are stored in a backup file and configured on a server. This information can be restored on a new server if the FPM server stops responding, or if the server is upgraded. Provision of a reorder functionality for carriers in the G650 cabinets A Reorder button helps users, who have the PositionCarriers capability assigned to them in the FPM role, to specify the order of carriers in the G650 cabinets. Provision of greater clarity in the IP Trunk map display FPM provides two buttons, Show Managed and Show All, on the IPT trunk display to enable or disable the display of far-end systems that are not managed by the FPM server. As FPM does not manage all IPT far-end systems, the new functionality lends clarity to the IPT displays. 13 Enhancements Provision of four performance report types: Performance: IP VoiceStats Jitter Performance: IP VoiceStats Delay Performance: IP VoiceStats PktLoss Performance: IP VoiceStats Data The FPM Report Manager lists the four reports in the GUI under the Performance category. FPM support for connections to either IP Addresses or Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN). Support for voice and network statistics report Support for Firefox web browser Support for main and LSP split registration Provision of hourly option of scheduling reports Table 3: Enhancements in Integrated Management Database Integrated Management Database Support for the following platforms that run Communication Manager 5.2: S8300B, S8300C and S8300D S8500B and S8500C S8510 S8710, S8720, S8720XL and S8730 S8400 and S8400B Support for the IMD Web client so that it runs on the Mozilla Firefox Web browser version 3.0. Support for the RADIUS authentication of the GUI access of the application IMD software provides a new page, titled RADIUS Server, to configure the RADIUS server or servers to be used for authentication. 14 Integrated Management - System Management 5.2 Provision of a Test RADIUS Servers button that tests the RADIUS server information from IMD. This button helps test the connection to the RADIUS server. Provision of a Copy button next to each user on the Users list that helps create a new IMD user by copying or duplicating the settings of an existing user. Supports following IMD roles: IMDAuditor, IMDPassMgr, IMDSecurity, IMDAdmin, IMDSuperUser Provision of a Copy button on the LDAP Groups page that helps create a new LDAP Group by copying or duplicating the settings of an existing LDAP Group. Provision of a new IMD Roles page in the IMD application for the addition, deletion and editing of IMD roles for users and LDAP groups. Provision of the capability PositionCarriers on the FPM roles definition. Addition of an Exporting Data capability besides the Importing Data capability IM allows users to export both Elements and Users data in the.csv format. Support for a new Secure Enhanced Alarm Receiver (SEAR) element. Addition of an notification to the administrator to unlock IMD login if the application locks the login of a user. User login is disabled when the login attempts of a user exceed the number of Authentication Fails set. Support for the installation of IMD in a customer specified directory. Provision for the random generation of passwords for the SM administrator users. Support for SSH -2 The program SSH - 2 (Secure Shell) provides an encrypted channel for logging into another device over a network, executing commands on a remote device, and moving files from one device to another. SSH-2 provides strong host-to-host and user authentication as well as secure encrypted communications over an insecure Internet. Rather than validating identities using passwords, SSH-2 uses public key encryption to authenticate remote hosts.
