2 1 EAST COAST ANDROID GUIDE TX5 and TX92 (with remotes) Currently (as of December 2018) this manual will show you a few tips and tricks on how to use the android box, as well as, show you how to use the remote. Let s start with the remote! DONGLE The MX3 Air Mouse takes 2, AAA batteries to run. It requires that the USB piece (dongle) of the remote be plugged into the Android box. Once your dongle is plugged in point the remote at the screen and move the cursor around with the movement of your hand. Pricing & Info TX92: Amlogic S912 Octa-core ARM Cortex- A53 CPU. If you continue to press it, it will lead you back to the boxes home screen.

3 2 Home Button: This button brings you back to the boxes home screen. When you use this button it will not fully shut down your applications (apps). Therefore, when you reopen an app it will bring you back to the screen you left it at. If you want to fully close down a program, continue to use the back button until the home screen is reached. Cursor On/Off Button: This button will turn off the mouse cursor on your screen (it will disappear after a few seconds). To bring it back up press the button again and move your remote across the screen. Mute Button: This button will mute your devices audio. Light Button: This button will turn on the remotes backlighting. This should be turned on, so when using the back keyboard it will light up when it s active. OK/ Arrow Keys: This OK button will select/enter whatever your cursor is on. As well, the arrows can move your highlighted selection around when the air cursor is not active. If you are able to scroll down on a page you can long hold the OK button and tilt/flick your hand up. This will let you scroll the page up.

4 3 Remote s QWERTY Keyboard: When you turn the remote over, you will see a keyboard. Since we have activated the light button, the keyboard will light up when it is in the right position (sometimes the remotes can be finicky and require being held at a certain angle). Accessing the symbols in blue: In order to use the numbers/symbols in blue, this button (alt) must be pressed. Make sure that you press the button to deactivate or the next time you go to use the remote, it will still be active. CAPS Button: Pressing the CAPS button will make your text upper case or lower case. Again, similar to the ALT button, once caps is on it will remain on until turned off. Syncing Remote: If you have plugged in your dongle (see picture on page 1) and the remote is still not working, try this to resync it. Press and hold OK + TV buttons for about 4 seconds (doing this will make the red light at the top of the remote flash quickly), meanwhile, insert the dongle (USB) quickly into the box. Have the dongle (USB) inserted and hold OK + TV for a few seconds (doing this will make the red light at the top of the remote flash quickly). OR Sometimes the box will require a restart.

5 4 Remote learning feature If you would like your MX3 remote to learn some commands from another remote, you can teach it to copy the IR signal of the other remote (sometimes this will require a couple tries). 1) Get your standard android remote (or any remote that you want to replicate a button from) and place it end-to-end with the MX3 so that the IR receivers are facing each other. 2) Then, on the MX3 press and hold the red TV button. You will see the LED flashing rapidly then slow to a steady flash (the steady flash means the X3 is now in learning mode) 4) Release the TV button. 5) Now press the power button on the standard remote (or whichever button you want to map) You will see the LED light stop flashing and glow continuously, at this point press one of the coloured buttons below (Red, Green, Yellow, or Blue). The LED will then flash again and eventually extinguish. This means the MX3 has finished learning the IR code from the other remote and has successfully mapped it to the power button (It may require more than one try). Source: Factory Reset the Remote: To remove IR codes that were previously installed and have the power button work again in RF mode. Press TV + DEL at the same time and keep them pressed until the light turns off. If you aren t keen on using the remote, any wireless keyboards or mice (anything that uses a USB) will also work.

7 6 Start up: Alright! Let s start at the very beginning because, it s a very good place to start! Besides the obvious exterior (and interior) difference of the boxes, the home screens are both the same. When you turn on the TX92 the start up page will look like this: Simply press your Home button on your remote, to get to this screen.

8 7 What are these Apps? TV/Movies Live TV Services There are more apps on your box, but these are the apps that I personally suggest using. Sometimes apps will discontinue, but new ones will replace it. Accounts: In order to get the best bang for your buck these account are going to help you get the best out of your Android box. In order to keep your box running as smoothly as possible, it is important to sign into the Google play store. To do this you will need a free Gmail account, which can be obtained at A Trakt.tv account is a great way of tracking shows that you ve watched, shows that you want to watch, as well as when new episodes are coming out. Best of all you can add a very user friendly app (Hobi) on your phone. Make sure that you sign up for Trakt.tv first before installing the app. Head to and sign up for your free account. Hobi, is a great app you can download on your phone, it will help you keep track of new/upcoming/and watched shows/movies. It pairs with your Trakt.tv account so make sure you get that first!

9 8 Setting up the Internet: There are 2 ways to connect to the internet Through WiFi or an Ethernet cable. If possible, always use a wired connection with an Ethernet cable. Ethernet Connections: Simply plug in the Ethernet cable from your modem to the back of your Android box! WiFi Connection: In order to connect to the wifi follow these instructions: On your home screen, click on the settings icon located at the bottom of your screen Note: if your settings icon has disappeared, clicking on the circle with the 6 dots at the very bottom will bring you to your apps page (this is your menu button). There you will find 2 settings icons. Select the one on the left (grey for the TX92). If you select a settings icon and it brings you to a different menu just press your back button and select the opposite one.

10 9 Clicking the settings app will then open a pop-up on the right hand side of your screen. Select Network. Select your internet and type in the password. Once that is complete, you should have access to the internet! If you are using an Ethernet cable it s generally just plug and play.

11 10 Adjusting the screen to fit your TV: Have you noticed that the edges of your screen are cut off? Try this to fix it. Select your setting icon from the bottom of your screen. Select Display Select Screen position

12 11 Then, select Zoom out screen, until your screen fits your TV. If you ve gone too far just click Zoom in screen. Changing your background For cosmetic purposes, you may want to change your background. While on your main screen long hold your OK button. Which will look like this. Select the Wallpaper and then choose the background you want.

13 12 HOW TO USE YOUR APPS: There are currently 3 different apps that I like to use: Morph TV, Cinema HD and CyberFlix TV. So far Morph TV is my favourite, and I generally only go to the others if I m having trouble finding something on Morph (which is rare). This guide will help you select the best source to watch, as well as, how to sync your trakt.tv account to your TV/Movie apps. Syncing Trakt.tv to your TV/Movie/Hobi Apps: Log into Trakt.tv on your phone/tablet (wherever you are installing the Hobi app). Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and you will see this: Activate Device Click on this. It will take you to a new screen where you can type in a code. Syncing Morph TV with Trakt.tv On your Box, select your Morph TV app. Select TV Shows, Favorites, then Watchlist.

14 13 This should bring up a blurb telling you to visit Trakt.tv etc. etc. similar to the picture below. Type the code that you re given on Morph TV app into the Trakt.tv website. It will then prompt authorization. Select yes and you are all done!

15 14 Syncing Cinema HD and Cyberflix TV with Trakt.tv For your other Apps such as Cinema HD and Cyberflix TV you go into your settings (settings will be located in your top left drop down menu) and scroll down until you see: Again, this will prompt you with a code that you can type into Trakt.tv. Do this for all of your TV/movie apps on your box, so that no matter where you watch your shows/movies, it will always update. Syncing Hobi with Trakt.tv Once your Hobi app is downloaded on your phone, down at the bottom of the screen it will say connect with Trakt.tv select this and it will bring up the Trakt.tv website. Log in and again, select yes to authorize it.

16 15 Watching Morph TV Selecting a Source Morph TV can feel very over whelming at first, but don t worry you will get the hang of it! When you choose which show/episode you want to watch, it will bring up a list of sources. As you can see on the right-hand side there are various numbers in green, yellow, and red. They are colour coded to show you which sources are the fastest (green) and which sources are the slowest (red). Sources that are in red or in yellow (that have high numbers) are going to have to buffer (stop) continuously. This will make watching your show/movie very unenjoyable. When you click on a source it will open a down tab, like so:

17 16 As you can see there are now 2 numbers. The first number represents your quality (the higher the better), while the second number represents how close/far away the video source is from you (the lower the better). Generally if the second number is above 2500ms, this will cause your show/movie to stop periodically to buffer. I suggest choosing a source with a lower second number. Examples: (440 MB/ ~5357ms) (441 MB/ ~7382ms) (200 MB/ ~659ms) (405 MB/ ~890ms) Looking at the numbers above (405 MB/~890ms) could be the best selection, because it s in the green/under 2500ms and it has a higher quality. It s also important to look at the picture icons (on the far right of the sources): These also represent the quality. Sometimes you will see (HLS/ ~655ms), HLS stands for HTTP Live Streaming. When you see this and it has a picture of HD 720p or HD 1080p this is a good source to try. If you select a source and it s not a great quality/ sound is not synced/ or it keeps buffering, just press your back button and select a new source. Due to different internet providers some sources that may work for some, might not be the best choice for you. It s best to try different sources and find a few that work!

18 17 How to install and delete apps: Deleting an app: If you no longer require an app on your android box (you don t use it/ you want to save space/ or it is an older version) this will show you how to do this. This sometimes is necessary when installing newer/cloned versions of apps. Just say you want to uninstall Morph TV. With your cursor over the app icon, long hold your OK button (as described on page 2). This will bring up an option bubble. Click on App Info. Which will bring you to this page: Click uninstall and you re done.

19 18 Installing an APK app: On your android box go to the internet/browser app, which can be located through your menu button (see page 8 for the menu button). From there click on the browser/internet icon (On this box, Chrome is the browser) If you don t notice a browser or internet icon, you can download Google Chrome through the Play Store. Now enter in the appropriate URL or on East Coast Androids you can click on the link that we provided (as seen in picture).

20 19 Once you have clicked the link, it will bring you to the proper download page. Here, you will click on CYBERFLIX and then click OK on the pop up. Once the file is downloaded, click the home button on your remote. Then go into your apps menu and click on the FileBrowser icon.

21 20 Click on Local Disk. Then click on Download. If you notice that your folder won t open and just keeps putting a check mark on it, mark sure that this button is deselected.

22 In that folder, you will find your apk file. Click on that to start the downloading process (you will need to click install when it prompts you too). After it is finished you can find your app on the home screen or in the apps menu (if it isn t on your home screen you can add it by long holding your OK button on top of the app and moving your cursor at the same time. This will bring it to your home screen and you ca n place it wherever you want). 21

23 22 Updating Apps: Updating apps is pretty simple, as most of them will prompt you. An example would be: Click on Install which will then bring up this window:

24 Once complete you will see this screen, simply select open if you want to open the app, or done if you want to go to something else. 23

25 24 Live TV (IPTV or East Coast Androids) If you re looking for Live TV - IPTV or East Coast Androids is the place to watch it. Although it does cost money, it is well worth it (compared to cable company prices and other free apps quality and quantity, plus if there are issues they can be reported to East Coast Android). For only $70 (prices may change) for 6 months (which works out to be around $11 a month) our app will give you all your Live TV needs; And while there are other free apps you can use, our app has live channels. SO, let s get started on how to work this marvelous app. First, select the app to open it. This will bring up your log in. Type in the username and password provided to you by your East Coast Android representative.

26 25 Once you are logged in, this is your home screen: Click on EPG to bring up your category guide. Here you can choose which guide you want to look through. At the beginning of each session, at the top right hand corner you will see 3 dots. Click on those and hit Refresh TV Guide and Refresh Channels, Movies and Series. This will make sure that you get the most recent and up-to-date version of the guide.

27 26 Once you ve selected your category, it will bring up the guide (with the category title listed at the top). Another way to view specific categories and to add them to your favourites category is to click on Live TV, then select your specific category.

28 27 Which will bring up this menu (to view different menus click the arrow buttons along the top). Just long hold on the channel you want to add to your favourites. And click on Add to Favourite

29 28 Remote Services If you re having troubles with your Android Box, sometimes an East Coast Android representative will be able to assist you remotely (through Quick Support ). When your East Coast Android Rep asks you for your code click on the Quick Support icon. This will open the application and provide you with a secure code. Via Facebook Messenger, send your East Coast Representative Your ID code and that will give them access to remotely control your Android box to fix the problem/issue

30 29 Tips and Tricks for your Android Box It s very important to complete most of these steps on a regular basis to keep your android box running smoothly. 1. When an app prompts for an update do it! Keeping the apps up-to-date will allow them to work properly. 2. Make sure you log into the Play Store! 3. Kill your apps. Use one of these apps to clear any unneeded apps from running in the background (can be found in the apps menu). 4. Check your internet speed using one of these apps (again found in your apps menu). Generally, we want to see at least 5 MB/s of download speed for movies/ TV show apps, and MB/s for our Live TV. 5. Make sure that you turn your android box off sometimes! Running your box for long periods at a time could overheat your box and prevent it from resetting. Even unplugging your box for a few minutes helps! You can buy a USB fan to place under your box like this:

31 30 6. Although you can run your box over Wi-Fi, a wired connection with an Ethernet cable is always best. If you have to use wireless, try the 5G or 2.4 G networks to see if it helps. 7. Sometimes clearing your favourite movie/tv apps cache will help. Go into your settings, click on Apps. Click on the app you are having issues with.

32 Then click on clear cache. (If you click CLEAR DATA this will make you lose your favourites and settings, but sometimes can help). 31
