2 1. Inputs type 1.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU This module supported both NPN and PNP. The format of inputs can be specified as NPN or PNP 1.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 This module supports only PNP. The format of inputs cannot be specified because it is fixed PNP 2. Channel configuration 2.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU This module allowed to configure the channel as: - Input - Output - Input / Output 2.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 This module allows to configure the channel as: - Input - Output V

3 3. Connection over Ethernet/IP 3.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU This module allowed only the Multicast mode 3.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 This module allows both Unicast and Multicast mode 4. IP address settings and Diagnostics 4.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU This module had only a 4-digit LED display that allow to: - Configure Static IP, DHCP, BOOTP and Factory settings. - I/O status - Ethernet information - EtherNet/IP Information 4.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 This module has: - 3 rotaries switches that allow to choose Static IP, DHCP, Stored IP, Firmware Update and Factory settings - NET and MOD Led that allow to have idea on I/O status, Ethernet information and EtherNet/IP Information V

4 5. I/O Channels names 5.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU With this module each I/O port has a channel A and channel B and the port number start from 1 to 8. So the 16 channels of the module have names as 1A (port 1 channel A), 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A,..8B. Note : the first channel (1A) and first port are located in the bottom left of the module 5.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 With this module there are no channel A and channel B and there are no port numbers. Each channel name start by a letter C with the number of the channel. So the 16 channels of the module have names as C0 (channel 0), C1, C2, C3, C4,, C15. Note : the first channel (C0) and first port are located in the top left of the module 6. EDS file The old and current modules don t use the same EDS file, each module uses its own EDS file. To get the EDS file of each module please refer to the Download Center page. V

5 7. Commissioning There is difference between connection parameters of old and current module 7.1. The old TCDEI-8YYX-DxU This module use 101 for Input assembly (size 4 words), 102 for Output assembly (size 1 word) and 103 for Configuration assembly (size 74 bytes) 7.2. The current TCDEI-8YYX-DxU-G02 This module use 103 for Input assembly (size 4 words), 104 for Output assembly (size 2 word) and 106 for Configuration assembly (size 16 bytes) V

Replacing the old TCDEI-8YYX-GxU by the current TCDEI-8YYX-GxU-G In case of using EDS file in Scanner tool In this case you need to delete the module from the configuration and add the new module by using its new EDS file In case of using Rockwell Generic Profile In this case you need to: - Keep the module in the configuration and modify the connection parameters (Assembly instances and sizes) for adapting with the parameters of the new module. - Adapt the I/O mapping in the logic program because the modules doesn t use the same structure of mapping (data, status, diagnostic, output, ) - Think about the sensor, actuator wiring because the port 1 in the module isn t located in the same place as the old module.
