6 IPEmotion 2015 R3 General changes 1.5 Basic & Standard Edition with more page display functions The Basic and Standard Edition has extended functions and supports data display of 250 channels on up to 20 view pages. This improvement was implemented to relate the Basic configuration capabilities to latest App 2.13 supporting up to 20 pages and the new logger display solution called IPEconnect discussed below. The following sketch is explaining the system architecture. You configure logger and the App display system which IPEmotion. The measurement configuration is initialized on the logger. The IPEhub2 device is connected to the logger to create the access point for the tablet. The tablet can automatically import the App display configuration to present live data to the user. 8 IPEmotion 2015 R3 General changes Configuration work flow The configuration of the android display is fully driven by IPEmotion and covers all aspect of the configuration using Log2PC over the Ethernet cable, USB or the remote configuration update over WLAN / FTP. 9 IPEmotion 2015 R3 General changes The default SSID (Service Set Identifier) of the access point is Logger_SerialNumber. However you can change it to other SSIDs too. The password is the same as the defined SSID. Link the required channels you like to display on the tablet to the DAQ list of IPEhub2. The DAQ list is defined in a 1 Hz (slow) and 10 Hz (fast) transfer mode. It is possible but not recommended to add the same channel to both DAQ lists. After assigning channels to your DAQ list you create your view pages where you relate channels to display instruments, to setup the data presentation for the driver. 10 IPEmotion 2015 R3 General changes User benefits of the App driven logger display solution The configuration process is completely controlled by IPEmotion. It is an integrated system to support a smooth workflow. You can connect IPEhub2 at any time to the logger to setup your WiFi access point. Blue LED is visually indicating that the connection is working. You can export any time a new logger MCF configuration to update the App display too. Modified App configuration from the tablet can be saved to IPEhub2. When WiFI connection to logger is interrupted and reestablished App will automatically show online data again. App is automatically detecting the mode of if normal IPEhub2 mode or IPEconnect mode is running. 11 New functions in OPTIONS 2 New functions in OPTIONS 2.1 User Administration Control visibility of user buttons The user administration can control the visibility of user buttons in the column status modification. To use this function you have to activate the user administration as indicated below. Status modification With this check box you enable the control of the visibility of the user buttons. Level With level in the range of (1, 2 3) you define which user buttons will be made available. 13 New functions in SIGNALS 3 New functions in SIGNALS 3.1 Detect TEDS sensors The IPETRONIK X PlugIn is supporting for M-SENS2 modules the class 2 TEDS sensor detection. When a TEDS sensor is connected to the input channel the scaling parameters and sensor properties are integrated to the channel scaling definition. You can use the column chooser to add the sensor icons to the channel grid. The following modules support TEDS: Sx-STG and M-SENS2. When a TEDS sensor was detected it is automatically added to a user define sensor data base file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\IPETRONIK\IPEmotion\Database\ IPESensorDatabase.xmt Extension t = TEDS data base xml file When you modify the scaling definition of a TEDS sensor the icon is changing the Information format to the following IPEmotion Release News 2015 R3.2 IPETRONIK GmbH & Co. 14 New functions in SIGNALS 3.2 Add sensor to your sensor data base The sensor data base is a powerful tool to simplify the channels scaling and reduce scaling error. You can now add your own sensor to the data base. All the settings defined in the sailing interface are saved to the data base. 15 New functions in SIGNALS After you have created the sensor in the data base you can search for your sensor. The example below shows the parameters as defined in the scaling calculator. When a sensor was added to a user define sensor data base file it is saved in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\IPETRONIK\IPEmotion\Database\ IPESensorDatabase.xmu Extension u = user defined sensor data base. If you like to modify a manually created sensor you need select the sensor from the sensor data base and you can modify settings in the scaling interface. With the function save sensor to data base the modifications are overwritten Information Note: There is no possibility to delete a sensor from the sensor data base. If you need to remove a sensor permanently you need to delete it from the XML files. Information When the sensor includes not Serial number you can mark the sensor as favorite. 16 New functions in SIGNALS 3.3 Enable CAN FD during DBC import When CAN FD messages are included in the DBC file the CAN FD interface configuration is automatically enabled after the import provide the CAN hardware is supporting CAN FD measurements. 17 New functions in ACQUISITION 4 New functions in ACQUISITION 4.1 Specific enthalpy formula by pressure & entropy For the climate module a new formal was introduced. h_ps h_ps calculates the specific enthalpy (unit: kj/kg) as a function of pressure (unit: bar), entropy (unit: kj/(kg*k)), and a fluid. The fluid is defined by an index referring to the following list of supported fluids: R134a, R1234yf, R22, R404a, R410a, R507a, R744 (carbon dioxide), R718 (water), R729 (dry air) Syntax: h_ps(pressure-operand; entropy-operand; index of fluid) Examples: h_ps("channelpressure"; "ChannelEntropy"; 1) calculates the specific enthalpy using a pressure channel and an entropy channel for the fluid R134a. h_ps(20; 2; 2) calculates the specific enthalpy using fixed values for pressure and entropy of fluid R1234yf. 18 New functions in DATA MANAGER 5 New functions in DATA MANAGER 5.1 From to count classification This classification statistic is calculating how often a signal is crossing adjacent classes Class parameter tab sheet Source channel Class count Lower limit Upper limit Open boundary Select the source channel to calculate the classification. Class count defines in how many classes you will divide the range of your lower and upper limit. The classes are divided in equidistant sizes. Is the starting point of your classification considering the smallest measurements you like to include in your classification. Refers to the highest measurements you like to include for the calculation. Here you can define how to deal with the data outside the lower and upper limits. If the checkbox is activated the data is included in the adjacent upper and lower classes. 19 New functions in DATA MANAGER Example: From to count classification (from class 4 to adjacent classes) The following example it will be explained how the classification result is calculated. The following signal is classified. The result in the matrix table is the following: The algorithm is counting how many times the signal from a given class is changing to the next class below or above. In the example the classification result in the table is showing that the signal starting from reference class 4 was crossing twice to class 3 (40 60) and two times to the higher class 5 (80-100). 20 New functions in DATA MANAGER 5.2 Transition matrix classification This classification statistic is calculating is counting all events where a signal is reaching from a maxima or a minima from a given class to another class Class parameter tab sheet See section sample count classification Source channel Class count Lower limit Upper limit Hysteresis Select the source channel to calculate the classification. Class count defines in how many classes you will divide the range of your lower and upper limit. The classes are divided in equidistant sizes. Is the starting point of your classification considering the smallest measurements, you like to include in your classification. Refers to the highest measurements, you like to include for the calculation. The hysteresis is adding a tolerance to the calculation if a signal is oscillating on the border of a class. 22 New functions in DATA MANAGER 5.3 Rainflow classification This classification statistic is very popular for fatigue test and load monitoring applications on mechanical structures Class parameter tab sheet See section sample count classification The result of a Rain flow classification will be applied to the signal below. To understand the counting result it is recommended to rotate the signal by 90 to get a better graphical understanding of the rain flow as indicated in graph below. Refers to the highest measurements, you like to include for the calculation. This setting includes all samples outside of the first and last calls and adds it to the adjacent classes. For channel one the 5 classes are ranging from -5 to 5 and for the second channel the class parameters are ranging from 5 to 100. Example 1: Sample count compound classification (Class 1 / Class 1) The classification method is only counting the samples of the channel with the higher sample rate, which is in this example, the Sine-1 channel. Only those samples get counted where both signals are included / overlap in the defined class range. 27 New functions in DATA MANAGER Example 2: Sample count compound classification (Class 5 / Class 2) In this example we show how the result (528 samples) for the following class 5 / class 2 is computed. 28 New functions in DATA MANAGER 5.5 Time at Level Compound This classification statistic is very closely related to the Time at level classification. In this case the time is counted, how long a single is staying in a giving class. As a compound classification method the same principle as in sample count compound classification is applied in order to identify the relevant sections of the chart Class parameter tab sheet See section sample count compound classification [5.4]. Example 1: Time at level compound classification (Class 5 / Class 1) In this example below we will show how the result for the following class 5 / class 1 (5.9 seconds) is computed. The white areas indicate those sections of channel 1 (Sine in class 5) with is overlapping with channel 2 (Vehicle_Speed in class 1). 30 New functions in ANALYSIS Polar coordinate input channels The polar diagram requires 2 input channels in polar coordinates. One channel must represent the radius and the other channel the angle. Both channels together generate the graph. If you do not have recorded the data in polar coordinates you can generate polar coordinates in the post processing using the following formulas: Calc_Radius:= SQRT( phi_z * phi_z + phi_y * phi_y ) Angle:= IF( "phi_z" >=0; ACOS("phi_y" / "Calc_Radius" ) * 180/PI; -1 * ACOS("phi_y" / "Calc_Radius" ) * 180/PI + 360) Angular Axis Direction Define the angle orientation clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The instrument can be rotated manually with left mouse click inside the labeling of the angles Amplitude Axis Adjustment Here you can define whether all signals scaled along the same axis of along separate axes. 32 New functions in ANALYSIS 6.2 Classification table To display the result of the 2D classification methods [5.1] a classification table instrument was introduced. The configuration of the instrument is very limited to the basic function to show the legend and instrument caption. 33 New functions in ANALYSIS 6.3 Offline video synchronization Video signals can be offline synchronized with other measurements signals. The context menu of the video instrument supports a function called Synchronization. In the following example you will see a video signal which shows a 1,5 seconds time shift between the recorded digital LED status channel (high / low) and the corresponding video signal (lled red / off). 34 New functions in ANALYSIS With the synchronization function the video signal can be manually aligned and shifted to your defined reference signal position. In the first step you move the video slider to the right picture. After that you move the cursor in the diagram with your reference channel to the right position. When you execute the Apply function the offset is applied to the vide channel time stamps. The original time stamps of the video file is now shifted and aligned to the reference channel time stamp. When you have a post processing operation with a single value result these results can be integrated to the report.
