ADR-View 1 ADR Panel 2 Setup 3 Info 1.1 Search 1.2 Data on file 1.3 Reconnect 1.4 Events Control Panel Click on < ADR - Panel > from the main screen display. This is the main window, from which the instruments are monitored. It is organised in the form of a grid, whose cells stand for the ADR units. The size of this grid can be altered as required, using the 3 blue panels on the left of the screen. - "Total Grid" panel: this is used to alter the breadth of the grid which contains the ADR units the user will set. Use the arrow buttons to add (+) or remove (-) rows and columns in the grid. It is not possible to eliminate a row or column containing an ADR unit that has already been set by the user. The current dimensions of the grid appear on the panel display. - "Visible grid" panel: this is used to handle the gridd directly visible to the user. This is the grid that appears on the screen. The arrow keys are used to add (+) or remove (-) rows or columns in the grid displayed, with the upper limit represented by the "Total Grid". To display all the grid currently set, the scroll bars at the sides of the screen can be used. The displays of this panel show the current dimensions of the grid. - "1 st visible cell" panel: this handles the coordinates (row and column numbers) of the 1 st cell to the upper left of the visible grid, with respect to the "Total Grid". By altering these coordinates, it is possible to move within the "Total Grid" with the display of a sub-group of cells formed by the "Visible Grid". The arrow keys can be sued to add (+) or remove (-) rows or columns in these coordinates, in such a way as to move the grid displayed, within the limit set by the "Total Grid". Each time the programme is started up, the coordinates of the 1 st visible cell will return to value (1, 1) by default. DESCRIPTION OF EACH CELL Each cell stands for an ADR, whose address and serial port are indicated in the upper left. An icon states whether or not the ADR has been ser, and what type it is (4 DIN modules or rear panel). It is identified by a comment string. The status of the ADR (ON/OFF) can be detected from the position of the corresponding switch. The communication status can be detected from the colour of the warning lamp beneath the switch (yellow = ON-line, amber = OFF-line) and the message ON/OFF-Line. Each cell contains the following command pushbuttons: < SETUP > This is used to connect and set the parameters of each ADR. The entire configuration set in the control panel is saved on file, which means that the next time the programme is started up the configuration is automatically restored. If password control is enabled, this takes place before moving on to the menu selected. < VIEW > This opens the display window for the data acquired by the ADR units. Mask of the cell MKT - AC 8

PANEL COMMANDS < Search > This opens the menu for the selection and display of the data for a single ADR. The selection of an ADR causes the positioning over the ADR connected. This ADR then becomes the one identified as the 1 st visible cell (first to the upper left). < Data on file > This enables the opening of the menu where the ADR data are memorised on file. The memorisation takes place in a text file in a format that can be easily used by an electronic spreadsheet such as Excel, or by other programmes. If password control is enabled, the password has to be entered. < Reconnect > This immediately makes an attempt to reconnect the ADR whose status is on while the communication status is off-line. < Events > This opens a mask for the display of the events that have taken place in the ADR network. The configuration of the parameters set is saved on file at the end of this procedure, which means that it need not be repeated on the next start-up. Parameters that can be set: - N of minures after which the programme attempts to set the ADR units in off-line status to ON-Line. If the ADR is not connected no forcing will be attempted (default minutes: 15). - N of rows and columns in the grid displayed by default (2 and 3 respectively). These are the initial dimensions of the "Visible Grid" which are taken on each time the programme is restarted (these are restricted by the dimensions of the "Total Grid" see page 8). - Serial port used by default. This is the serial port that is proposed in the setting mask of a new ADR. - Screen resolution, if a resolution of 1024x768 or greater is not available, the parameter will be set to 800x600 (minimum resolution required). - Sampling intervals (minimum) for the data to be displayed on the screen and to be saved on file respectively. - Daily interval in which the data are memorised on file. - Max dimension of the datalog files and the event memorisation files. For the datalog files, we recommend a maximum setting of Mbytes. - Pass word enable / disable. NOTE: we strongly recommend changing the default password by entering a personal password, to prevent unauthorised users from modifying and enabling this. It is advisable to enable the password if a number of people may gain access to the monitoring PC and you wish to guarantee the security of the data acquired. Return to the "Service Procedures" mask: < OK > This is used to set the general parameters. Confirm by clicking on OK. < Exit > Click on EXIT to return to the mask without confirming the changes made. MKT - AC 16

ADR-View 1 ADR - Panel 2 SET-UP 3 - Info 2.1 Parameters 2.2 DLG management 2.3 Data on file Handling the datalog files These are files in text format that contain all the data acquired from the ADR for memorisation on file. On reaching the maximum permitted size for these (see the value set in the general parameters), a new datalog file is created. These files are created and handled in the "Datalog" sub-directory (with reference to the ADR_view installation directory), and they are named by the date of creation in "yyyymmddnn" format and have the suffix ".dlg". Click on < DLG management > in the Service Procedures mask to open a mask with which it is possible to create a backup copy of the data memorisation files, restore these files or eliminate them. < Select File > Press one of the two < select file > pushbuttons to select the datalog file of which a backup copy is to be made or the backup file to be restored respectively. < Backup > This is used to carry out the backup of the datalog file selected. If no datalog file is selected, this function remains inactive. < Restore > This is used to restore a datalog file from the corresponding backup copy. < Eliminate > This eliminates the file or files selected. It is possible to eliminate both datalog and backup files. < Exit > (or Esc) This is used to leave the menu. <? > (o F1) Help button. MKT - AC 17

Note: check the datalog directory and the files it contains at regular intervals, to prevent it from growing out of control. Use the procedures specified on this page to transfer the less recent files to other supports, if you believe the data they contain are important, or to simply eliminate them. Should you wish to reduce the amount of data saved on file, set a data sampling interval in a larger file, or set non-sampling intervals (see page 19). MKT - AC 18

ADR-View 1 ADR - Panel 2 Setup 3 Info 1.1 Search 1.2 Data on file 1.3 Reconect 1.4 Events SETUP VIEW Setting the ADR Parameters Press the < SETUP > button for a cell (see figure to the side) to enter the ADR configuration menu, where it is possible to set the defining parameters. There are three pushbuttons, used to gain access to the various groups of options. - ADR address: this value has to correspond to the address set directly in the instrument. The software checks that the same address is not incorrectly allocated to two different instruments connected to the same serial port. If this is the case, a warning message informs the user of a configuration conflict. - Serial port: connected to the RS-485 line to which the ADR is connected. - ADR status (ON/OFF): if set to OFF, this will remain disconnected and the programme will never attempt to communicate with it. If the status is set to ON, the programme will immediately attempt to make the connection. If this does not take place, the communication status will be set to OFF-Line and the connection will be automatically re-attempted on the expiry of the time interval set in the general parameters). - ADR model: this is used to select the model of ADR connected (ADR-D or ADR-R). - Description: it is possible to enter a description in the space available for each ADR connected, with a view to obtaining a reference for this. Main parameter setting window MKT - AC 19

- Sampling interval for data displayed: this defines the interval (minimum, as it depends on the number of ADR units connected on each serial line) of time between two successive requests to the ADR for the data to be displayed in numerical and graphic form. - Save data: the two enable/disable switches are used to memorise the data acquired from the ADR units on file and memorise the peak data on file respectively. - Data on file sampling data: this defines the minimum time interval between two successive requests to the ADR for data to be memorised on file. - Daily time interval: this defines the time interval from hour to hour on the day when the memorisation of data on file has to take place. If the starting time is later than the finishing time, the memorisation will take place at the start of the current day and continue until the end of the following day. - Absolute time interval: this defines the time interval between two dates when the memorisation of the data on file takes place. < Data excluded > When this button is pressed a window appears (see figure below) to handle the creation, modification and elimination of the NON-memorisation on file intervals. It is possible to set any number of nonmemorisation intervals for any measurement. The data will be saved on file only if at least one measurement does not belong to one of the intervals set. To enter a new interval, select the electrical measurement and set the lower and upper values of the interval (with the multiplication factor, where applicable), then press < Enter >. For the modification, elimination or simple display of all the intervals, press < Display. Intervals >. Use the arrows in the upper right to scroll through the list of intervals set. To eliminate an interval, go to it and press < Eliminate >. To modify the interval, change the parameters as required and press < Modify >. Important: if < Exit > is pressed without confirming with < modify >, the user will leave the mask without acquiring the modifications entered. These are saved only by pressing the < OK > key in the ADR parameter setting mask. < Reread TA/TV > This button enables the rereading of the values of the current (TA) and voltage (TV) transformer primaries in input to the ADR. < Set TA/TV > This opens the value setting menu for the values of the current (TA) and voltage (TV) transformer primaries in input to the ADR. < Reread ADR time > This enables the rereading of the current ADR time < Set ADR time > This opens the setting menu for the current ADR time. < OK > This acquires the parameters set and returns to the control panel. < Eliminate > This disconnects the ADR and eliminates it from the group of those already set. < Print > This prints the configuration of the parameters set for the ADR. < Exit > (or Esc) This is used to leave the menu without saving any modifications entered. <? > (or F1) Help button. MKT - AC 20

The upper part contains a panel with 5 blue keys that alternately enable the display of the group of electrical values, in the order system values, voltage and current, power ratings, phase shifts and peak values. Beneath each display is a key for the display of the graph for the value in question. For the three phase values (voltage, power ratings and phase shifts), the three graphs can be displayed at the same time using the key to the right. There are also pushbuttons to zero the energy and the peaks of all the values, and to reset the internal ADR date and time. To the upper right is a pushbutton that opens the window of the historic data table (page 22). < Exit > (or Esc) This is used to leave the window for the display of the values. <? > (or F1) Help button. < Print > This is used to print all the data displayed in the window. A menu appears in which it is possible to enter a note that will be inserted at the foot of the printed page. MKT - AC 21

ADR-View 1 ADR - Panel 2 Setup 3 Info 1.5 Search 1.6 Data on file 1.7 Reconnect 1.8 Events SETUP VIEW Displaying the graphs of the electrical values This window displays the graphs of the electrical values measured by the ADR (see figure). The programme memorises up to 1000 values acquired for each value, which make up the historic file for that value. On completion of the buffer, the less recent values are eliminated one by one. The cursor beneath the graph is used to scroll through all the values memorised, as the graph is able to display a maximum of only 100 of these. As well as the electrical value graph, the trend curve also appears in grey (moving mean of 20 samples), while the statistical figures on the electrical value taken from the historic file (maximum, minimum, mean and standard deviation) appear on the right. These data are not included in the display of the three graphs together. The graph is set to automatically display the maximum excursion of the value measured (autoscaling). To alter the dimensions of the graph (vertical axis of the value measured), set the switch at the bottom right to off and write the new value for the axis over the existing one. To return to autoscaling, set the switch back to on. Click on the dropdown menu associated with the name of the electrical value to see the list of values for which it is possible to display the graph directly. < Cancel historic file > This eliminates all the data contained in the historic file for the ADR. Important: the data eliminated also relate to all the other electrical values for the ADR. < Exit > (or Esc) This is used to leave the graph display window. <? > (o F1) Help button. < Print > This is used enable the graph to be printed. A menu appears in which it is possible to enter a note that will be inserted at the foot of the printed page.. MKT - AC 22

Up to 1000 values acquired for each electrical measurement are kept in the memory. Each column contains the values for one electrical value (set out in the heading), while the various rows stand for the data acquired by the ADR at a determined instant in time. < Update > This is used to update the data in the table with the most recently acquired values. < Print > This opens a menu for the setting off the print parameters for the historic data table (see the figure below). MKT - AC 23

It is possible to set the interval of rows that will be printed (the numbering appears at the top of each row) and the groups of electrical values to be printed, divided up by type. Each group of values occupies one printed page, which contains 50 lines of data. To print the table press < OK > [or Return]. To exit without printing, press < Exit > [or Esc]. < Exit > [or Esc] This is used to leave the window. <? > [o F1] Help button. MKT - AC 24
