Both installations are completely independent of each other. Update Installation Uninstall Desktop Suite can be installed on top of any existing previous version, there is no need of uninstalling previous versions. Existing data and user profiles remain and will be reused by Desktop automatically detects, if it is an update installation Existing user data and profiles are maintained and reused. No data is lost. 5 Changes in : When adding documents of types PDF, JPG or TIF by Drag & Drop, the user can select if OCR should be applied to these documents : Working with signed, encrypted and archived messages was improved. Storing encrypted s encrypted and unencrypted is now possible : Code-optimizations speed up the working process : Streaming functionality (available since server 2.18) is now used by the desktop client : When adding new profile (non 2FA) the short name is enough tob e specified (was longname before) : Logging format was improved : User management can now work with large numbers of users (also needs server side fix on 2.18 servers, when working with more than 4000) : Rename of objects can now be done explorer style using F2 or CTRL+R. This should reduce the number of necessary PIN entries : The solution and user settings can now control, how now folders are added to libraries or desktop : Error messages should now be more user friendly : There is a progress indication in the status bar when user libraries are refreshed : Only entiteled users can load a new solution (see this option) : Startup time as been doubled in speed (Starttime brought down to half as before) : For reminders, the time can now be individually set : When storing messages encrypted, the removal of attachments is prevented : If there is an error storing encrypted s decryped, they are anyway stored, but encryped. If Microsoft Hotfix is applied (see above) the error should not occur : When upgrading to a new version, existing user libraries are automatically backed up tp My Dokuments\doculife\BackupLibraries\<ProfileName>\<LibraryName>.npx and can be restored using Library-Import by the user himself : The synchronisation between desktop and office toolbars was improved. This improves the user experience of Drop-Down Lists : The availability of distinct Search Folders can now be dedicated to individual User- Groups : Annotations are now indicated by a Pin-Symbol overlayed to the icon : Mixed searches for Documents and Folders are now supported : Local searches in Folders are supported by new Context-menu feature : ilinks to Folders can now be placed into other folders : Older versions of documents can now individually deleted : Workshare integration : Archiving is now also possible without retention (only security is changed) : Improvements in visualisation of objects (colors) : Thesaurus can now be used and configured : It is now possible to easy show all related documents when attachments where separated from an (context-menu) : Support for 2-factor-Authentication Changes : additional open Tasks for Barrier-Free Usage have been closed : The Right-Click-Behaviour for the Context-menu in free area has been improved : When restoring documents from Recycle-Bin but the folder was deleted, an Info- Message is now shown : Automatic sizing for several dialogs was improved When creating new searches, the search-designer can now decide, if full text search should be used or not : Improvements in Template-Configuration Options : Signed s have now a special Icon that indicated the signed status : Search for subfolders was improved : Attachments can now directly be dropped onto checked-out documents to create a new version

Bugfixes : Bugs in Column-Filters have been fixed : Fix in LRU Mechanism for Property-Indexing : Bugfix when using ESC on hierarchical Drop-Down-Lists : Multiple Localisation Issues have been fixed : Improvements for Network-Connection-Problems : Bugfix in synchronisation of addresses and appointments with outlook : The Scan-Client can now also be installed with Windows : In case of problems with the Office-AddIns, the document that was edited last, is reopened to not loose it. Release: Type: Release Features Desktop is a consolidated update to where mainly bugfixing was done. Changes : All Solutions where updated and Error-Corrected. The Resources for User Credentials and Account Activation Process are reviewed and available in English and German : If entering a wrong Password, the account is not directly locked. Only after 3 false efforts, the account is locked for 5 minutes. In previous versions, the account was directly locked as the desktop initiated multiple connections in parallel. Now, the first connection has to succeed before more connections are scheduled. Bugfixes : Print-View of Properties does now also work if not all data is available : Correction in Encoding for Solution Definitions. Solutions build prior to this Release must be manually updated to use UTF-8 in XML-Headers and serialized file formats to avoid further problems : Issues with misaligned Controls and Texts where fixed : The Recycle Bin folder name is not shown localized in hitlists : A Major Performance Issue was fixed. The Desktop was flickering when displaying data : When deactivating a solution, also search folders disappear now from the workplace

11 : Drag & Drop of a document from doculife into an opened editor was freezing and not working. It is still not working but not freezing any longer : When switching profiles, user defined filters where not reset what lead to incorrect search results. The filters are now reset : When losing the network connections during the normal desktop usage, a reasonable error message is now shown : When changing a security context, this is now directly reflected to the UI : Several Errors for adding s and multiple s to doculife where fixed : An issue was fixed for the synchronization of Reminders with Outlook : Text notes are opened using the internal editor rather than the configured application for RTF. Real RTF documents are opened using that application : Corrections in localized Texts and Label/Button positions : Maximum 200 users are displayed on searches on the user management. This avoids long running or server-problematic searches.
