17 3.4 Configuring the network for access to the DNC Cell/Plant host computer 3.4 Configuring the network for access to the DNC Cell/Plant host computer Introduction and DNC Cell/Plant communicate with other computers using DCOM. The DCOM communications layer is closely linked with the domain structure and the user administration of Windows. The configuration options for DCOM are very diverse and cannot be done generally. This documentation describes only a simple standard case as an example. For further configurations, contact your system administrator for the associated plant or the technical support. Requirement The following settings must be made as standard in order to set up communication via DCOM. The user logged-in to the controller must be known to the corresponding DNC host computer via a login or as locally created user. Access rights In order to use a different user from the logged-in user, a dedicated DCOM login for the DNC server exists. If the logged-in user does not have sufficient access rights to the host computer, no configuration can be made. Note If the user is created locally on both PCU and server, the user passwords must be identical. NOTICE The configuration described below can present a security risk in the network. Under certain circumstances, a dedicated configuration may be necessary, i.e. purely at the level where communication between the applications takes place, as opposed to the global configuration described below. NOTICE PCU 50 with Windows XP SP2 If a PCU with Windows XP Service Pack 2 is used, the Windows Personal Firewall must be customized appropriately so that network access is possible. Installation Manual, 09/

53 Additional information 6 Operation of With DNC Cell/Plant and FTP If data transfer is made from the with the help of FTP, further configurations must be made in DNC Cell/Plant and. With this regard, note the "FTP" tab in the configuration tool. With the V6 operating software and FTP Up to operating software V6.1.9, the "remctftp.exe" FTP process and the "dhs.exe" data access server that run on the PCU are not started correctly when the controller starts. Upgrade the operating software to a version >= OR - Enter the two FTP processes via "Autostart" or "Run" in the Registry so that the access via FTP functions correctly. This problem affects the following functions: Machine comparison Autoarchiving Transfer of programs from DNC Cell/Plant to the controller Generally, all functions concerned with the FTP protocol and/or access to the data management of the controller without starting. Access to the controller via DNC Cell/Plant without starting the regie.ini file To permit access to the controller without a started, e.g. from DNC Cell/Plant, make the following entries during the setup: File: \add_on\regie.ini: [StartupConfiguration] Startup29=name := oemframe, cmdline := "f:\\add_on\\dhs.exe", Timeout :=0 Startup30=name := oemframe, cmdline := "f:\\add_on\\remctftp /RUN", Timeout :=0 CAUTION If the "startup29, startup30" numbers have been assigned, change these numbers to numbers that are still free. 54 Additional information Version management and date/time To ensure that the version management as well as the setting of date and time functions correctly, set the same format for date and time in the country/regional settings. For example: DD.MM.YYYY hh:mm:ss Synchronize the times exactly to each of the corresponding computers. Program comparison for DNC Cell/Plant and SINUMERIK The activation of the program comparison for SINUMERIK prevents the "DriveInternPath=2" parameter from being activated in the "dnc ifc.ini" file. This causes all programs on the controller and DNC system to be identified as being not identical. Deselect the "use simple file sharing" function To prevent access problems to the network drive when using local users (anonymous login), select the following: Remove any set check marks in the Windows view options for "use simple file sharing (recommended)" on both the DNC server and the PCU. Proceed as follows under Windows on the controller and the server: Enter: Start Run...
