Anomalies fixed The following customer-reported anomalies have been fixed in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition For information about anomalies fixed in FactoryTalk Services Platform, see the FactoryTalk Services Platform Release Notes. Installing Installing RSView ME Studio (CPR7) was prevented by Error If an earlier version of Studio was found during install, a message recommending using the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs instead of the install step on the CD wrapper, was displayed. Alarms The screen saver did not terminate when an alarm event occurred. Alarm "Ack" tag connection wrote multiple times for a single alarm acknowledgement. Importing an Alarm Setup XML file gave unpredictable results. Alarm Status List object cursor returned to the top of the alarm list when a new alarm was triggered. Help has been revised to remove references to direct reference BOOL for Bit or LSB trigger types. Alarm acknowledgement time was not displayed for alarms 94 to 150. Alarm "Ack" and "AckAll" did not consistently acknowledge alarms triggered from an ALMD instruction in ControlLogix. Application Documenter An error was produced whenever the Application Documenter tried to document a graphic display that included a Trend object. Component Browser The Component Browser did not show component names longer than 29 characters. DeskLock

DeskLock 2000 stayed in foreground after FactoryTalk ME Station was started from DeskLock. Uninstall instructions have been removed from the DeskLock help file. Global objects Deleting global objects with broken links from a display caused FactoryTalk View Studio to crash when the display was saved. When a numeric input enable object was defined as a global object with global object parameters, it did not respond to an expression stated in the Optional Expression connection. Graphics If an ellipse was edited using the arc tool to turn it into an arc, and then exported to XML, the object was exported and re-imported as an ellipse, not as an arc. Objects could not be properly moved in 1 pixel increments when the view of the object was zoomed in. Changing screen resolution resulted in the Animation window moving out of sight on the display. If a text object included vertical and horizontal animation, and the animation occurred while another graphic display is open, the text disappeared when the display the text object was on was reopened. A text object with string embedded variables displayed blank or partial text until the display was refreshed. An ellipse object in the shape of a circle with blinking animation remains partly visible between blinks. Momentary push button objects with certain border definitions remained visible when invisibility animation was applied if the popup keypad was opened on top of the push buttons before their visibility changed. User documentation has been revised to make it clear that an object which is not visible is also not functional. Graphic displays whose names included trailing spaces failed to open and produced an error in CPR9. Wallpaper caused high memory usage when loading displays at run time. With the keyboard set for the Danish or Norwegian language (in Regional Options), the colon character (:) could not be entered in the Connections tab of any graphic object.

Animation failed if CurrentUserHasCode was used for more than 100 animations. Language switching String import that took 17 hours now completes in 5 minutes. Users can specify whether a rebooted terminal will start in the last language selected or in the default language. A pop-up message has been added to inform the user that the runtime language is being updated. Input is blocked while the language switch is being made. Global object parameters with embedded variables did not work with language switching. Login and Logout A login macro writing the system user name to a tag on the controller copied the old user name to the tag when a new user logged in. Automatic logout did not work after an error was generated. Login configuration now saves the domain name with login information so users do not need to type in the domain name every time they access the network. Running an application with auto logout enabled crashed ME Station when the time specified for the inactivity period expired. Mer to MED A CPR9 runtime file (.mer) could not be converted to a design time file (.med). Numeric input The numeric input pop-up keypad showed misleading values when the optional expression connection was used. PanelBuilder32 import Scale values set in the PanelBuilder32 tag database imported incorrectly; for example, 0.1 imported as 1.0. Control list selector states were imported in the wrong order. Numeric input enable object selected the wrong Fixed Position Output setting on import. Check text was added to imported tags even though no expression was assigned. If the same PanelBuilder32 project was imported repeatedly, the HMI server

crashed and the product's activation was corrupted. PanelView terminals When a keypad-only terminal logged data to a Compact Flash card, a Diagnostics error would be displayed and keypad buttons would stop working if the card was removed or replaced while data was being written to the card. Large macros paused for up to 20 seconds after executing each group of 100 expressions. A warning has been added to the Help stating that setting the backlight intensity tag in the global connections to zero turns the PanelView terminal's backlight off. Using the Password button to change a user's password caused a PanelView terminal to hang if the 4.00.mer was created using FactoryTalk View Studio The Numeric input enable object did not show the correct Min/Max values when running on PanelView Plus terminals. FactoryTalk View ME Station on PanelView Plus 600 crashed when two display change requests occurred at the same time. Support for a new Kepware BACnet driver was added. HMI device tags in KepServer showed incorrect data when on scan at multiple different scan rates. Printing Printing the alarm configuration truncated messages at the bottom of a page. Printing from a terminal cut the first line of text in half horizontally. RecipePlus Clicking two different recipe button actions one after the other caused FactoryTalk View Studio to hang. In some cases, Studio never recovered. After a recipe test display hung, the recipe file became corrupted and did not show the Data Set column when the display reopened. A new message warns users that 5.00 recipe files need to be converted for use with 4.00 applications. Changes to recipe values failed and generated an error message due to timestamp overwrite. The Status tag did not update Device and Direct Reference tags for the "Save"

button 100% of the time. The RecipePlus Table displayed an HMI tag's scaled value of.1000 as E- 02, while displaying all other values correctly. RSView32 If FactoryTalk View Studio and RSView32 are installed on the same drive, attempting to open the Tag Import and Export Wizard in FactoryTalk View Studio opened the RSView32 Database Import/Export Wizard instead. Runtime Creating the runtime.mer file for an application with a large number (600+) of bitmap images took over an hour. Security Migration of 3.2 users to 4.0 failed if 4.0 user matched 3.2 user, but passwords were different. Tags The Help for FactoryTalk Machine Edition has been revised to provide more detail about how floating point values are handled. Retentive string tags that included the new line character \n were sometimes truncated after the application was restarted. Testing applications If the Object Explorer window was open at the same time as a graphic display when testing an application, FactoryTalk View Studio crashed when the test application was stopped. Attempting to re-create an.mer while the same application was running in test mode produced ambiguous error messages. These have been replaced with a message stating that only one runtime project can be open at any one time. Trends Trends with an XY plot greater than 24 hours would change the plot to a ramp when a pen changed value. Pressing the Next Pen button did not bring the next pen to the foreground if two or more pens used the same scale.

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) settings What is DEP? Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that is supported by both hardware and software and intended to prevent the execution of malicious code in the Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later) and Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, or R2), and in the Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) and Server 2008 (Service Pack 1) operating systems.

DEP Settings The DEP settings determine which applications and components are covered by DEP protection. They apply to both hardware-supported and software DEP features. On computers with the necessary hardware capabilities, hardware-supported DEP features are enabled for the same set of applications and components as the software DEP features. The following table explains the possible DEP settings and if those settings are supported by Rockwell Software products. Rockwell Software recommends that you use the OptIn DEP settings. DEP Setting AlwaysOn OptIn OptOut AlwaysOff Description Full DEP protection for the entire system (all applications and components, no exceptions). DEP-enabled only for Windows system components and for applications that explicitly r;opt in. This is the default setting for Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later), and Vista (Service Pack 1). DEP-enabled for all processes except those that explicitly r;opt out. This is the default setting for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 2 or R2) and Server 2008 (Service Pack 1). DEP protection is disabled for the entire system (all applications and components, no exceptions). Note: Rockwell Software does not recommend using this setting, since it will make your system more vulnerable to malicious code. Supported by Rockwell Software Products? No Yes Yes Yes

Changing DEP settings To change the DEP settings in Windows XP and Server Select Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention. To change the DEP settings in Windows Vista and Server Select Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System > Advanced system settings > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention. The setting, Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only, corresponds to the OptIn setting. The setting, Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select, corresponds to OptOut setting. Keep the following in mind: You must be an administrator of your computer to change these settings. You must reboot the computer for the DEP setting changes to take effect.

Hardware DEP Settings Hardware DEP uses the processor to mark memory so that code cannot be executed from data regions. When code attempts to execute in these marked areas, the processor generates an exception. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1), Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, or R2), or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Service Pack 1) operating systems, the offending program is terminated. Hardware DEP is also enabled as the factory default setting. This feature is turned on or off in the computer BIOS settings. To determine if your hardware supports DEP, refer to the hardware manual or contact your hardware manufacturer. 22 Known issues Click the links for more information. Installing Internet Security software FactoryTalk View Studio and PanelBuilder 1400e Microsoft Operating Systems and Service Pack Compatibility with FactoryTalk View Studio Some Microsoft operating system service packs and hot fixes are not compatible with FactoryTalk View. Please refer to Answer ID in the Rockwell Automation Knowledgebase for specific information. Opening remote help files Topics in compiled help (.chm) files do not display when the help file is opened from a network shared folder on a remote computer. ActiveX controls Failure to update the ActiveX controls will cause FactoryTalk View Studio to crash with a reference to the control. Alarms If the alarm message includes an embedded variable, the message will not display correctly. Alarms cannot be printed from Vista. The Alarm Message editor allows illegal characters on the Message tab when they are copied and then pasted into the Tag Value box for an unassigned trigger. Application Documenter If you restore an application with the Application Manager, the Application Documenter cannot detect the application and cannot select it for documentation until it has been opened in FactoryTalk View Studio. Direct reference tags and HMI tags that are not in the home area are not displayed in the Application Documenter under the 'Tags used by Component' section of the documentation for a graphic. Application Manager

Unexpected errors may arise if the application name is more than 16 characters long. When you enter a new application name in the Application Manager, do not exceed 32 characters. Until another application is opened or View Studio is closed, the Application Manager cannot delete or copy the closed application. Communications Ensure that your version of UltraVNC is earlier than If a remote OPC server fails at run time... Tags that use an RSLinx remote OPC server will show a value even when there is no communication. If you connect to ControlLogix via Ethernet, there is no additional support through bridging modules to DH+ or RIO networks. When you double-click an.mer file to run it, it does not automatically overwrite the communications file. RSLinx Enterprise interprets a leading zero to mean an octal notation. Data Logging Attempting to access a log file while data is being logged will stop the logging process and produce an error. Make sure that a custom folder exists. If communication to a custom path fails, data logging will stop. Data log models will not accept shortcut names that contain spaces. Diagnostic error messages Diagnostic error messages may appear truncated if they are too long for the diagnostics window. Embedded Variables Embedded variables do not support names that contain spaces. Embedded variables are not loaded until the text in the graphic object they are associated with is displayed. Literal numbers in embedded variables do not display correctly if the decimal separator is not a decimal point. Edit menu

The Delete Row(s) menu item in the Edit menu does not delete multiple selected rows in certain spreadsheet editors. FactoryTalk View Studio component names Names for FactoryTalk View Studio components do not support extended ASCII characters or UNICODE characters. FactoryTalk View Machine Edition run time Startup settings are not retained after closing the Terminal Settings > FactoryTalk View ME Station Startup dialog box. Log in issues Runtime startup test issues The application on Mozart has an expired user account Fonts Using fonts that are not installed with FactoryTalk View ME Station Global Objects Goto Display buttons are supported in tag placeholders but these values are not modified when using Global Object Parameter Values to change the Parameters in a global object. Global Connections editor If you have selected the Use Parameter List connection in the Display tab of the Global Connections editor, be sure to fill in the Parameter Tag connections in numeric order. For example, do not assign Parameter Tag #1 and Parameter Tag #3 without assigning Parameter Tag #2. Global object parameters in Machine Edition applications Global object parameters are not supported in versions of View Studio prior to Graphic displays Copying and pasting objects with default language strings Display of floating point values Rounding floating point values Graphic displays, images, and graphic libraries with the same name

Objects that have rounded corners Animating Courier font Language strings in import and export of graphic displays Inconsistent behavior with Maintained, Multistate and Momentary push buttons if the buttons are configured using Next state based on Current Value. Instead, configure each button to use the setting Next state based on Value Control and configure the Value and Indicator connections. Importing PanelView Projects When a PanelView 1200 project is converted to Machine Edition, the character lines are not scaled and some symbol characters may not convert correctly. See Answer ID in the Rockwell Knowledgebase for more information and a workaround. When a PanelView 1400 project is converted to Machine Edition, the Min and Max value of the Bit position tag may not convert correctly. KEPServer KepServer Enterprise 4.x requires UAC to be disabled. KepServer Enterprise version 4.3 will not run on Windows Vista operating systems. ME 5.1 applications running on a Windows Vista and using a remote Kepware data server require manual setup of DCOM. If a PanelView 400 or 600 terminal is upgraded over an RSLinx Enterprise network, the KEPServer tags will not work. If an application uses KEPServer as the OPC Data Server, a conflict is created with the Serial DF1 driver installed by RSLinx Enterprise. If a runtime application (*.mer) that contains a KEPServer Enterprise project file is converted to a design time application, the location of the project file is not displayed to the user. Language Switching Spanish (Traditional Sort) cannot be saved in the Languages field of the Properties dialog for a language switch button. Language switching is slower than in previous releases. Parameter file names

Parameter file names cannot contain the "!" character. If a parameter file name includes this character, no error message will appear when the parameter file is saved, but it will not be possible to create the runtime file (.mer) for the application. PanelView Plus terminal does not display strings correctly if they contains spaces When a parameter list is used to open a graphic display on a PanelView Plus terminal it does not display correctly if spaces are part of the string. To display strings correctly on a PanelView Plus terminal, define all strings without spaces. Printer button removed in Vista/Server 2008 Run Time Users can no longer specify a printer by selecting Terminal Settings > Print Setup if FactoryTalk Machine Edition Station is running on Windows Vista or Windows Server The Printer button has been removed from the Microsoft Print Setup dialog box. ME Station will use the default printer set for Windows Vista or Windows Server RecipePlus If you select Recipe files are NOT part of the HMI project in the RecipePlus Setup editor, do not include an IP address in the path that appears in the Folder where recipe files will be located at runtime text box. Instead of an IP address, be sure to use the computer name. Runtime Security Editor If a new user is added to the ME Runtime 4.00 and later tab of the Runtime Security editor, but no Security Codes (A-P) are checked, the new user will not be saved when the document is saved and closed. Instead, a blank line will be displayed in the Account spreadsheet where the new user was entered when the editor is re-opened. Tags Tag substitution HMI String Tags If an HMI tag's Maximum property is increased... Tags that use an RSLinx remote OPC server LINT data types are not fully supported. When using LINT tags, values that are less than 53 bits are not displayed correctly or may appear wireframed on the

display client. Trending If trend pens are configured with the maximum buffer size of 32,767 records, the entire allocated program memory on a CE terminal will be consumed in a matter of a few hours, resulting in an "out of memory" error. This requires a reboot of the terminal before the application can continue. To avoid this situation, set the buffer for extra data well below the theoretical maximum. Real time data replaces the historical data in the terminal when the log periodic interval is set to the hundredths type and there are more than 60 tags. Uninstalling FactoryTalk View Machine Edition Station on PanelView Plus CE terminals Do not attempt to uninstall FactoryTalk View Machine Edition Station using the Windows menu item at Start > Programs > Rockwell Software > Uninstall FactoryTalk View ME Station The uninstall process does not finish, and the terminal will have to be restarted. Use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard and the Firmware Upgrade Packets (*.fup files) to change your FactoryTalk View ME Station installation. Upgrading PanelView Plus Terminals When upgrading any PanelView Plus or PanelView Plus CE terminal to CPR9 or later over a network, a message may appear. When upgrading PanelView Plus terminal firmware from CPR7 to CPR9 or later using a Compact Flash Card, a message in several languages may appear. Windows XP and Windows Vista When exporting application files, such as graphic displays, you may not be able to access the destination folder. This may be due to User Account Control (UAC) turned on in Windows Vista and in Windows Server See Support for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. For more details, see Windows Help for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista If you create runtime security user accounts for Runtime security 4.0, and later tab in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition Studio, and then create an application and save it as Runtime 3.2 application the application will not save correctly. Error messages informing you of the mismatch are created but are hidden

behind the FactoryTalk View Machine Edition Studio application window. To view and respond to the error messages, press Alt+Tab. FactoryTalk View Machine Edition displays an error message when you create a graphic display with MaintainedPush button objects, save the graphic display, and then create a MER file (version 4.0). The MER file is created if you click OK on the error message dialog box. The file should not be created because the embedded variables are not compatible with the Runtime Library settings. To use embedded variables in graphic displays, change the Runtime Library settings to MD/MDD in the RSMControls. 30 Opening remote help files Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and R2, and security updates and to nearly all Windows operating systems, include changes to reduce security vulnerabilities in HTML Help. As a result, topics in compiled help (.chm) files do not display when the help file is opened from a network shared folder on a remote computer. This affects most online Help and release notes for Rockwell Software products. Workarounds: Open the help files from the installation CD or copy them to a folder on your local computer. If you want the help files to be accessible from a network directory (shared folder), use the Registry Editor to modify certain registry entries. Microsoft does not recommend you do this, but has provided the steps in Microsoft Knowledge Base article : Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

ActiveX controls Before migrating applications that contain the ActiveX controls SBCP or ME_CustomPopUp, from RSView ME to FactoryTalk View Machine Edition, you must first update these controls to their latest versions. The latest versions are available in the Rockwell Knowledgebase as File Attachments. For SBCP, see Answer ID 32292; for ME_CustomPopUp, see Answer ID Failure to update the ActiveX controls will cause FactoryTalk View Studio to crash with a reference to the control. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Alarms When a triggered alarm is displayed in the Alarm Status List, if the alarm message includes an embedded variable, the message will not display correctly. It will show the embedded variable syntax instead of interpreting the embedded variable and displaying the result. Alarms cannot be printed from applications running on Windows Vista Professional or Home Basic operating systems. The Alarm Setup editor should not accept illegal characters on the Message tab when they are copied and then pasted into the Tag Value box for an unassigned trigger. Instead, the Alarm Setup dialog box should be displayed with the following message: 'Trigger value is out of the range and '. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Application Manager If a Machine Edition application is created on a computer whose operating system is in one language, (such as the English version of Windows), and is later restored into another operating system language (such as the German version of Windows), unexpected errors may arise if the application name is more than 16 characters long. See Answer ID in the Rockwell Automation Knowledgebase for more information. When you enter a new application name in the Application Manager, do not exceed the maximum length of 32 characters. The Enter a new name for the application text box allows you to enter up to 100 characters without warning or notification. However, when you attempt to complete the operation, if the application name exceeds the maximum 32 characters allowed by FactoryTalk View Studio, errors and warning messages will appear. If a Machine Edition application is closed, but FactoryTalk View Studio remains open, the Application Manager does not recognize the application as being closed. Until another application is opened or View Studio is closed, the Application Manager cannot delete or copy the closed application. 34 Communications When using UltraVNC, a remote control software, with FactoryTalk View, ensure that your version of UltraVNC is earlier than When using version 1.04 or later, a crash can occur when navigating in FactoryTalk View Studio or when an application is loading. If you are using remote OPC servers at runtime, and if the remote OPC server fails, data on the clients will appear to be valid, but will not update. Animations will not wire-frame, date displays will not show asterisks and strings will not show questions marks. Tags that use an RSLinx remote OPC server will show a value in the Numeric Display object even when there is no communication, (for example, when the Ethernet cable has been disconnected from the CE terminal), instead of showing asterisks and logging an error message to Diagnostics. If you connect to ControlLogix via Ethernet, there is no additional support for other Allen-Bradley devices or network hops through bridging modules to DH+ or RIO networks. When you double-click an.mer file to run it, it does not automatically overwrite the communications file. If the terminal has no communication configuration, or if a different.mer with a different communication configuration has been running on the terminal previously, the application you are running will not communicate. To avoid this, load the application through ME Station the first time you run it. At the prompt "Do you want to replace the terminal's current communication configuration with the application's communication configuration?", click Yes. When opening applications created with earlier versions of Machine Edition in FactoryTalk View Studio, be sure the application's IP addresses do not contain a leading zero. RSLinx Enterprise interprets a leading zero to mean an octal notation. For example, the IP address is valid, but is not. Before importing, open the application's Nodes.csv file in Notepad and make sure all the IP addresses are in the correct format. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Component names Names for the following FactoryTalk View Studio components do not support extended ASCII characters or UNICODE characters: applications, HMI servers, data servers, HMI tags, RSLinx Enterprise shortcuts, FactoryTalk View Studio application files (.med), and all FactoryTalk View application components, including graphic displays, parameter files, macro files, events files, derived tag files and data log files. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Data logging If an ME application running an a Windows desktop platform is logging data to a custom path, attempting to access the log file, (for example, to copy it), while data is being logged will stop the logging process and produce an error. If you are running your application on Windows 2000 and logging data to a custom path, make sure that the specified folder already exists. If it does not, an error will be displayed stating that the system cannot find the path specified. If communication to a custom path fails while data is being written to the data log, data logging will stop and will not resume until the application is shut down and restarted. Data log models will not accept shortcut names that contain spaces. The device shortcut must be a single word (NEW_SHORTCUT) without spaces. See Answer ID in the Rockwell Knowledgebase for more information. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Diagnostic error messages Diagnostic error messages may appear truncated if they are too long for the diagnostics window. To ensure that error messages are displayed in full, use the FactoryTalk Diagnostics Viewer to display these messages on the desktop terminal and at design time. For applications that run on Windows CE terminals, configure the FactoryTalk Diagnostics Viewer to accept messages from Windows CE devices. In FactoryTalk Studio's Tools menu, click Diagnostics Setup, and then select Message Routing in the left hand pane. The check box for this option appears below the Message categories. Click Help in the Message Routing pane for more details. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Embedded variables Embedded variables do not support tag names, direct references or device shortcut names that contain spaces. Embedded variables are not loaded until the text in the graphic object they are associated with is displayed. If an object with an embedded variable has visibility animation, the embedded variable will not be activated until the object becomes visible. If the object later becomes invisible, the embedded variable will remain active. For example, if a display containing objects with both visibility animation and embedded variables opens with the objects invisible, and if the connection between the embedded variable and its tag is broken, Diagnostics will not register communication errors for the object until it becomes visible. If it later becomes invisible, the communications errors will still be logged. This also means that if one or more states of a multistate indicator include embedded variables, the variables will not become active until those states are displayed. Literal numbers in embedded variables do not display correctly on PanelView and PanelView Plus terminals if the decimal separator is not a decimal point. If the Decimal symbol (Terminal Settings > Time/Date/Regional Settings > Regional Settings > Numeric Format) is set to a comma or other custom character, literal number embedded variables display as??????? at run time. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Edit menu The Delete Row(s) menu item in the Edit menu does not delete multiple selected rows in certain spreadsheet editors. If you select multiple rows in the Information Messages, Local Messages, Macros, and Alarm Setup (Messages tab) editors, and then choose Delete Row(s) from the Edit menu, only one row will be deleted. To delete multiple rows, right-click in the editor and use the Delete Row(s) item in the context menu. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Fonts If your PanelView and PanelView Plus application uses fonts that are not installed with FactoryTalk View ME Station 5.10, you will need to either copy the fonts manually to the internal card of the terminals, or, if the font is too large for the terminal's memory, (as is, for example, the Simsun font), you can copy the font onto an external Compact Flash card. If an external Flash card is used, it will need to be plugged into the terminal at all times while the application is running, and the Font Linking setting will have to be defined in the Terminal Settings for FactoryTalk View ME Station. Please see the PanelView Plus Terminals User Manual for information about Terminal Settings. To get copies of the fonts you need, please ask your local RA Sales office or distributor for the RA Font CD (reference publication number VIEW-SP006A-EN-C). Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Global object parameters Global object parameters are not supported in versions of View Studio prior to When a run-time file (.mer) is created for version 4.00, from a 5.00 application that includes a base global object with a defined parameter, an error message appears and the.mer file is not created. This is the expected behavior. However, if a run-time file for version 3.20 or earlier is created from the same 5.00 application, no error message appears. While the resulting file can be run on Machine Edition Station, this is not recommended, since this functionality is not supported in 3.20 or earlier, and unexpected results may occur. Related topics What's New in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition 5.10 Known issues

Graphic displays Copying and pasting objects with default language strings - if you have chosen to display undefined strings in the default language (in the Language Configuration dialog box), when you copy and paste objects with strings in the default language, the duplicated objects will contain the default language strings. The duplicated objects should have undefined strings. Display of floating point values - Graphic objects that display floating point values, such as numeric displays and input objects, will show only 5 decimal places. The 5th decimal place will be rounded if necessary. Rounding floating point values - floating point values are not presently rounded according to the 'banker's algorithm' as stated in Help. If the number after the decimal is.5, the value is rounded up regardless of whether the number before the decimal is odd or even. Graphic displays, images, and graphic libraries that have the same name cannot be opened at the same time. Objects that have rounded corners and use a wide line width (greater than 10) will not display the rounded corners on Windows CE platforms. Animating Courier font - If you are applying width or vertical position animation to text that uses Courier New font, the text will not animate properly. We recommend selecting another font. Using maintained, multistate or momentary buttons on graphic displays - the buttons' behavior might be inconsistent. Graphics XML Language strings in import and export of graphic displays - the Graphics Import Export Wizard does not support language switching. When an application's graphic displays are exported using the Graphics Import Export Wizard, the strings in the displays are exported in the application's current language. When the displays are imported, the strings that were exported are imported into the application's current language. If the application's current language has changed since the displays were exported, the imported strings will overwrite the strings in the new current language with the strings in the language that was exported. For example, your application has two languages, French and English. If you open it in English and then export a display, only the English strings are exported. If you then open the application in French, and import the XML file of the display, the English strings will overwrite the French strings.
