1 V Release Information Overview This document will describe the key new features and bug fixes of v This is the latest release of software since v New Features Below are 14 key new features: 1. 2 3 rd Party Servers supported by v v API Amendments For companies integrating with the Sony via API the v release contains a number of API updates and bug fixes. Upon time of writing API document v1.40 should be used. The API document v1.40 describes the amendments to the API. Please contact your Sony representative regarding this document. Access to the Sony filex ftp Firmware upgrades, manuals and Digital Cinema Bulletin are stored on the Sony filex ftp site. Authorised dealers, cinema installers and service partners can apply for a log in account to access the information. 1. The site address is 2. The site administrator will authorise the qualifying requests and a password will be sent to the requester. 5. 3 New Features 1. Support for SRX-R515P server the XCT-S10 Support for the new Sony projection system SRX-R515P. (Auditorium server XCT-S10) v will support the SRX-R515P v (or later). The v software for SRX-R515P is being released at the same time as v1.60 and will be required if the projector is needed to be managed by. 2. DCP Validation function expanded You can now send validate commands to Sony servers from, validation will be performed on the media block storage. The cinema industry is moving over from Interop DCPs to SMPTE DCPs. The SMPTE encrypted DPCs need to be validated prior to playback. The can now perform a simple partial validation of SMPTE encrypted DCPs on the library which will save time upon sending the DCP to the media block. The media block will need to perform a shortened validation to finalise the process. See detail below: 1.[Manual process] Users can order Sony servers* to validate a CPL on GUI. 2.[Automatic process] The can automatically validate SMPTE DCPs when they are ingested into Library Server. The LMT can use the SMPTE DCP validated by without full validation process because LMT has the simplified validation function** and follows the same format as LMT. This new function reduces the validation time on the LMT. *Supported from LMT series: Ver 2.50R or later, XCT-S10: Ver or later. ** please see release information regarding PS v2.50.

4 Automatic Validation Note: The LMT has to validate and ingest separately. In contrast the XCT-S10 (SRX- R515P s Server) can validate and ingest simultaneously. The XCT does not require extra time beyond the ingest time and therefore does not need this new function.

5 3. Updated Library Screen You can now display DCP format (SMPTE/Interop), high frame rate, 3D, 4K, and other icons on the Library screen. This new feature is especially for new format SMPTE DCP and HFR contents. HFR contents need the HFR License for LMT and SMPTE DCPs need validation before screening. To reduce human error, indicates the content attribute and status by icon and text. DCP format (SMPTE / Interop), High Frame Rate, 3D, 4K, and other information are shown as icon in the Library screen.

6 4. Intermissions during screenings You can now specify pause and resume points in an SPL to insert intermissions during created SPLs. You can also screen SPL content during the intermissions. This is only available for Sony Projectors. Ver provides users intermission function. This function is for exhibitors who have an intermission in a movie to show the advertisement content and sell food and drink. Users can set intermission time in a SPL on GUI. Pause and resume points are inserted into an SPL as intermission time. Users can also show other content during the intermission. - The following operations are available on GUI. - Make an SPL with intermission - Check intermission status - Change intermission period during intermission Note - This function is available only when is connected to Sony SRX-R220/320/515 Digital Cinema Projection System. doesn t support any intermission functions on other vendor s servers. - Intermission function is also available in SMS GUI of R220/320/515 projection system.

7 5. Emergency SPL screening You can now stop presentations simultaneously in emergency situations, and automatically screen an SPL specifically configured for emergencies. By accessing the emergency button in the top right of the GUI, you can access the following screen. By pressing the red emergency button a configured Emergency SPL will play in the auditorium. Note Emergency Users must have write privileges for the Status screen to operate this function. In addition, [Emergency Control] must be enabled on General tab in Configuration screen and the emergency SPL must be registered beforehand. Emergency SPL An emergency SPL is an SPL that is intended for screening during emergency situations. Cues such as those for increasing the lighting and displaying evacuation procedures shall be created and placed by theatre owners in an emergency SPL.

8 6. Consolidated online/offline switching You can now switch between online and offline mode for all auditoriums simultaneously. Users can simultaneously switch between online and offline mode of all auditoriums without operating on each auditorium s Detail dialog.

9 7. Displaying the SMS setting screen from You can now display the settings screen for the Sony server s SMS Controller application from the settings screen while configuring auditoriums. Before ver , the had an original GUI to configure the SMS. There were some differences between the and the SMS configuration GUI. From ver , the GUI is standardized and users can open the settings screen of the application SMS Controller of Sony LMT-200/300 from the Configuration screen. Note This function needs R220/R320 digital projection system v or later.

10 8. Management of user access by content type You can now restrict user access by content type. This can be configured in the Configuration > User/Roles section.

11 9. Configuration of high frame rate playback support for auditoriums You can now individually specify whether each auditorium will support playback of high frame rate content. This prevents the content from being transferred to auditoriums that do not support it. Background For the Server to play HFR content, specific software version or special settings are necessary. Each vendor s cinema servers have restrictions in what formats they can play. Therefore, there is the possibility that an error may occur when an unplayable CPL is tried to play. This function prevents an unplayable content from being transferred to a cinema server that does not support it. This item is especially for High Frame Rate (HFR) content. Users can individually register playable CPL formats of each cinema server because their playable formats are specified by projector/server model. only transfers CPLs registered as compatible format to the auditorium. Filtering screen of playable CPL: Please choose all CPL formats that can be played back in each auditorium s cinema server. The following buttons is prepared to reduce user s manual operation.

12 10. Revised management of simultaneous ingest tasks The maximum number of simultaneous ingest tasks is now managed individually for each library and auditorium. If the number of ingests tasks in one library/auditorium is high, you can perform ingest from a different library/auditorium. You can specify the maximum number of ingest tasks for libraries in the Configuration screen. The maximum number of ingest tasks for auditoriums is fixed at 1 (sending and receiving tasks combined). Before ver , the had the maximum number of simultaneous ingest tasks as common setting value. From ver , the maximum number of simultaneous ingest tasks is managed individually for each library server. Users can input and change the maximum number for each library server on Configuration screen (default number is 3 ). 11. Individual configuration of auto ingest for each auditorium You can now individually specify whether each auditorium is a destination for automatic ingestion.

Invalid character removal during DCP copying You can now specify whether to automatically delete or replace invalid characters (i.e., characters not supported by the library server or ) that may exist in the DCP path name when copying DCPs. <Reference> Safe Characters are: Alphabet capital letter A-Z Numeric character 0-9 Hyphen - Underscore _

Updated KDM identification process A new process for identifying KDMs has been added. can identify a cinema server s KDM in Library Server (LS) even if the certification file (PEM file) of SMS of the cinema server is changed. The can identify which auditorium the KDM is for after user registers the new certification file of cinema server to on GUI. In the previous version of, some 3 rd party cinema server s KDMs in the library server were not able to be recognized by if the server s certification file is changed after repair for example. From ver , can extract an identifier from the certification file and identify KDMs. v1.52 and below does not use the PEM file but a combination of product name of SMS and serial number are supported to continuously identify KDMs.

15 14. Multiple deletion of SPLs / Packs Users can select and delete multiple SPLs or Packs. By holding CTRL of Shift button multiple SPLs or Packs can be deleted.

16 15. Customisation of Local Language In addition to English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and German, the user interface can be localized for other languages. This can be done using an Excel tool, please contact your Sony Digital Cinema contact for more information. If you have a customer that would like to localize the please contact your Sony account manager for more information. 16. Error Message Improvement Some error messages have been changed to make them more easily understandable. For example, Error ID: 9999 error has been divided into multiple messages according to the reason and situation. -Before) 9999: Unknown error PackElement.packedCplInfo is null -After) 6206: Failed to transfer SPL/Pack to the auditorium because the CPL used by SPL/Pack doesn't exist. Please import the CPL or edit the SPL/Pack to remove the CPL. 17. UI Improvement In many ways the GUI performance has been improved to display items or apply changes faster than the previous version.

17 18. Lite Lite, a new version of the software with a reduced number of functions and auditoriums that can be controlled compared to, has been added from v1.60. By purchasing a different license a user can use the with up to 5 auditoriums and some reduced functionality with regards to integration. Please see the Lite product information on the Sony website available from early June 2013.

18 Key Bug Fixes since v release Resolved Issues on Ver ID Problem Description All Base DCPs referred by the multiple CPLs in the If multiple CPLs exists in Overlay DCP, has problem about the automatic transfer of referred Base DCPs. DC-1387 Overlay DCP can t be ingested. Fixed to ingest all Base DCPs referred by CPLs in Overlay DCP. DC-1865 DC-2404 DC-4189 DC-2684 DC-2842 DC-4182 DC-3045 DC-4185 Failed to import SPL or Pack when A~F in UUID of SPL or Pack XML is written in upper case Unknown error occurs when opening SPL/Pack tab. Reply message of ImportShowPackNow API command is wrong. Duration of Packs are all 00:00 in Pack List of SPL/Pack tab Unknown error PackElement.packedCplInf o is null is displayed in Status->Error. Fixed to import such a SPL or Pack correctly. This problem occurs if Cue triggered by CPL marker that isn t existed in CPL XML file is added. Fixed to open SPL/Pack tab correctly. XML tag for reply message includes wrong space character. Changed to correct reply message. Retrieval of CPL Lists used by the Pack isn t executed, so the duration of Pack isn t calculated correctly. Fixed to display the duration correcltly. If CPL used in SPL or Pack is deleted, resends the SPL to auditoriums to reflect the changes. But if the SPL can t be transferred to auditorium because the SPL is uncompleted or by some reason, this error message is displayed. In this case, user must edit the SPL. This error message is changed to 6206: Failed to transfer SPL/Pack to the auditorium because the CPL used by SPL/Pack doesn't exist. Please import the CPL or edit the

19 SPL/Pack to remove the CPL. DC-6263 DC-6518 DC-7808 DC-7809 Edit mode isn t unlocked. Schedule overlap happens because of incorrect selection of target performances when importing POS file (Sony Standard Schedule Format). Some schedules are deleted incorrectly when automatic POS import. It takes long time to apply the SPL or Pack which are copied. Fixed to unlock Edit mode automatically when logout manually or automatically. When start time of <effectiveperiod> is 7:00 in schedule XML file, performances after 7:00 is selected as target performances. On the other hand, if PerformanceStart of the SPL allocated to the performance is 10 min from the SPL head, the start time of the performance stored in DB is 6:50. So the performance isn t selected as target and the performance is remained in DB, iand new performance is imported from POS file. Thus, schedule overlap happens. Fixed to select the performance as target, even if the performance is before <effectiveperiod>. This problem may occur if automatic POS import is executed when any auditorium is playing. Schedule that is currently playing is operated incorrectly, and the target schedules are selected wrongly. Fixed to operate the schedule that is playing, and become target schedules are selected correctly. When applying SPL, executes performance update operation referring the SPL. Because the copied SPL is new SPL, no performances refers the SPL, but searches many performances to find referred performances, so it takes long time. Fixed to skip performance search when newly created SPL such as copied is applied. Resolved Issues on Ver ID Problem Description DC-7677 Start time of performances become out of order when updating to Ver Because of the performance improvement of DC-4325/DC- 5599/DC-5638 in Ver , when loading SPL from database, the order of elements in the SPL was wrong, so start time of performance was calculated incorrectly. Fixed to read SPL elements in the right order. After updating to Ver , start time of performances

20 never be out of order, but the performances shifted incorrectly in previous version are not fixed automatically. Please move performances manually or import POS files again to correct the start time. Resolved Issues on Ver No issues are resolved. Resolved Issues on Ver ID Problem Description DC-2835 DC-4184 Start time of performances are changed incorrectly when assigning Preshow or importing DCPs after importing Packs. Fixed to change the start time correctly when doing these operations. DC-3044 DC-4352 DC-5599 DC-5638 DC-5277 DC-5571 DCS : Unknown Error occurs when applying SPL or Pack. It takes long time when opening SPL/Pack tab, or applying SPL or Pack if there are many SPLs or Packs. response became slow when using API for long time. Base DCP is ingested repeatedly and Overlay DCP isn t ingested when LAN cable is connected to DATA IN port of LMT-300. This problem occurs when the number of past performances is larger than the maximum value of database. From this version, default value of Cleanup Unused Performances After in Configuration->Schedule is changed to 60[day]. If you changed this value from 730[day] (default of past ), please change this value to 60[day] or less manually. New data used by the functions added in Ver.1.5x isn t cached appropriately, so data is retrieved from database repeatedly. Fixed to cache data correctly, and these operations are quicker. Used memory is increased incorrectly according to the number of call of API. Fixed to release used memories correctly. Overlay DCPs can become ingested correctly even if the cable isn t connected to DATA IN port. DC-5744 Please ingest KDM. Confirmation of KDM in offline mode is done incorrectly.

21 DC-6105 DC-6321 DC-6520 DC-7383 message is displayed in To Do List if the auditorium is changed to offline. Edit mode can t be locked. Domain user can t login to. Period Radio button in Schedule Allocate Tool is still None Specified even if the date is inputted. KDM for Dolby server is not recognized and not ingested to the auditorium. Fixed to the logic of KDM confirmation in offline mode to confirm based on last online state. Dead lock occurred because locking and unlocking of Edit mode is done incorrectly. Fixed to change the lock and unlock operations. Group function added by Ver.1.5x had problem to the domain users. Fixed to be able to login to correctly. Fixed to move Period Radio button to Specified automatically when user set the date or time of target in Schedule Import, Allocate and Export tool. The identifier of new Dolby server is changed, so can t recognize the KDM correctly. Fixed to recognize the new identifier correctly.
