1 June 2, 2014 Carrier Electronic Catalog Page 1 of 2 Customer Suite Version Carrier Electronic Catalog Customer Suite v replaces v SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION The Carrier Electronic Catalog Suite automatically installs all Carrier Electronic Catalog (E-CAT) programs using a single installation file. This is an alternative to downloading and installing individual E-CAT programs one by one. The June 6, 2014 Electronic Catalog Suite release automatically installs the following programs: X-Builder Framework v1.05s Induction Terminals Builder v1.08 Air Terminal Builder v2.09b Packaged RTU Builder v1.39i Applied RTU Builder v3.16 Self-Contained Units Builder v2.11 Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.29i Unit Ventilator Builder v1.19e Dedicated Outside Air System Builder v1.04 Water Source Heat Pump Builder v5.09c Fan Coil Builder v4.08 Water Source Heat Pump Builder v6.00 Programs marked with the symbol have been updated since the May 2, 2014 release. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Installation via Internet Download Download the ecat-cec exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Note that the download file is large and a fast internet connection is necessary to efficiently download this file. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-cec exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note AutoDesk Volo View Express must also be installed for certain E-CAT programs to function correctly. AutoDesk Volo View Express can be downloaded from the internet site. Running the Program Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click Carrier Electronic Catalog. From Electronic Catalog you can run all other E-CAT programs. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: Up to 560 megabytes when installing software for the first time. The hard disk space requirement is much smaller when updating existing versions of the software. Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Autodesk Volo View Express Note: Certain E-CAT programs require you to install the current version of Autodesk Volo View Express programs. This program can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. Volo View Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by Autodesk, Inc. as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of Volo View Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement that is displayed during the Volo View Express installation.

2 June 2, 2014 Carrier Electronic Catalog Page 2 of 2 Customer Suite Version PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION If your computer contains the prior versions of the Carrier E-CAT programs, the E-CAT Suite will automatically replace the prior version when installed. As a result it is not necessary for you to uninstall the prior version before installing the E-CAT Suite. Exceptions only exist for a major version change or a new program and in that case the prior version can be uninstalled before or after installing the E-CAT Suite. In the June 6 Customer Suite all releases are minor version updates. WSHP Builder v6.00 is a new program. NOTES 1. s. Release sheets for individual Electronic Catalog programs are found in the "E-CAT Product Selection Programs" down load table on the internet site. These sheets describe new program features. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings in certain E-CAT programs. If Acrobat Reader is not yet installed on your computer, the latest version can be downloaded from and then installed.

4 June 2014 Carrier Electronic Catalog Page 1 of 1 X Builder Framework v1.05s X Builder Framework v1.05s replaces v1.05r This program has been released to sales offices and will be released to customers on June 6. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION X Builder Framework provides common features for most Electronic Catalog and edesign programs. It can also be used as a central launch portal for all Electronic Catalog software. The software appears as "Carrier Electronic Catalog" on the Start/Programs Menu. If you launch the X Builder Framework from the Carrier Electronic Catalog icon on the Start Menu you can make best use of these common features. For example, you can configure any Tag in an existing ECAT Project simply by double-clicking the Tag on the Project tree, or create any kind of new Tag in the Project by clicking the New Tag button. X Builder Framework v1.05s includes the following updates: Librarian software updates related to the automatic software update features. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Installation via Internet Download To perform a full program install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecat-xbf105s.exe file from the internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Close any other programs running on your desktop computer. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-xbf105s.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions, which appear on your screen. After installation you may be asked to reboot. Running the Program Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click on the Carrier Electronic Catalog v1.05s icon. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: 30 megabytes. Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION 1. X Builder Framework v1.05s automatically replaces v1.05r. It is not necessary to uninstall v1.05r before installing v1.05s. SPECIAL NOTES 1. Adobe Acrobat, AutoDesk VoloView. Certain X Builder Framework components depend on Adobe Acrobat Reader and Autodesk Voloview or TrueView drawing viewer. These components are included in the CD installs, but may need to be downloaded and installed separately if you are installing from the internet and your computer does not yet contain this software

Running the Program Carrier Electronic Catalog can be used to launch Air Terminal Builder. To start Electronic Catalog: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT and E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT and E20-II Programs group choose the Carrier Electronic Catalog item. From Electronic Catalog you can create new or edit existing tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launch the program via the Programs tab. The current XBuilder Framework should be installed prior to installing the Air Terminal Builder. Autodesk Volo View Express Please note that Air Terminal Builder requires that you download and install the current X Builder Framework and the AutoDesk VoloView Express programs. Both of these can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. VoloView Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by AutoDesk Inc., as its drawing viewer. The current version of XBuilder Framework should be installed before installing Air Terminal Builder. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from and install it. 5. VoloView. VoloView v or later is required to view CAD templates from within Commercial Split Systems Builder. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, you can do so by running Windows Explorer, navigating to the \VOLO_NEW folder on the E-CAT CD and then double-clicking on the VVE2SETUP.EXE file. Note that if you do not intend to view templates within Commercial Split Systems Builder, this software is not needed. Many users display template drawings using a CAD system such as AutoCAD instead

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Applied RTU Builder v3.16 includes the following changes: Added the Digital Compressor factory option for 48/50A sizes 20, 25, and 27. Added Side Discharge Gas Heat factory option for 48/50N series units. Added Control Staging Sequence for 48/50A units that are VAV and Adaptive CV/SAV with Variable Capacity Compressor option. Updated feature sheets for 48/50A, 48/50P and 48/50N series units. Updated guide specifications for the 48/50A, 48/50P, and 48/50N series units. For 48A size 30 with low heat, the Low Sound Condenser Fan is selected by default. Removed the CV 2 stage Application Type option for 48/50A series units. In addition, the following problems were corrected: For 48/50A units with power exhaust, the power exhaust fan motor full load amperage was incorrect. FIOP codes for the A series PQ-PZ were incorrectly entered as JQ-JZ. These codes are in part number positions 15 and 16. Gas heating efficiency for 48/50A sizes 020 and 060 were incorrect. In certain situations the template DXF file generated for 48N sizes 120, 130, and 150 was incorrect. When the error occurred it involved showing the template for the wrong gas heat size. In the Carrier E-CAT and E20-II Programs group choose the Carrier Electronic Catalog item. From Electronic Catalog you can create new or edit existing rooftop tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launch the program via the Programs tab. The latest X Builder Framework should be installed prior to installing the Applied RTU Builder. 12 June, 2014 Carrier Electronic Catalog Page 1 of 2 Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.29i Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.29i replaces v1.29g UPDATE DESCRIPTION Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.29g includes the following changes: Added the new field installed accessory for economizer with dry bulb temperature control for 40RUA and 40RUQ indoor unit models. This accessory meets Title 24 section requirements. The controller meets California Title 24 Section Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD) requirements. Added the new field installed accessory for enthalpy control for the W7220 controller, for 40RUA and 40RUQ indoor unit models. Added feature allowing specification of a user-defined DX indoor unit in combination with any Carrier DX outdoor unit. To use this feature select a DX outdoor-only unit. Next, select the Specify your own indoor unit option on the Design Criteria tab in the Configurator. Then enter information for your indoor unit. The program will calculate the system balance point. The Performance Summary Report will provide a graphical display showing the system balance point. This feature can also be used for user-specified combinations of Carrier indoor units with Carrier outdoor units. Added a feature allowing specification of a user-defined DX outdoor unit in combination with any Carrier DX indoor unit. To use this feature select a DX indoor-only unit. Next, select the Specify your own outdoor unit option on the Design Criteria tab in the Configurator. Then enter information for your outdoor unit. The program will calculate the system balance point. The Performance Summary Report will provide a graphical display showing the system balance point. This feature can also be used for user-specified combinations of Carrier outdoor units with Carrier indoor units. Revised export packaging options for the 38AP and 38AH models. UPDATE DESCRIPTION Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) Builder v1.04 resolves the following issues: For 62D and 62R units with the Digital Compressor option selected, an invalid part number was generated so the unit could not be ordered.. Several of the component weight details were incorrect. The Firestat field installed option was not available on 62DA, 62DB, 62RA, and 62RB units. For 62R sizes 34 and 38 performance calculations failed. The Performance Report could not be generated. 17 April, 2014 Carrier Electronic Catalog Page 1 of 1 Fan Coil Builder v4.08 Fan Coil Builder v4.08 replaces v4.07 UPDATE DESCRIPTION Fan Coil Builder v4.08 includes the following change: Added brine concentration options for 15%, 25%, 35%, and 45%. In addition the following problems were corrected: When a 42B unit size was changed on the base unit tab of the configurator after a tag was created, the allowed airflow was not adjusted for the new size. When a non-fused service switch was selected, sometimes the Unit Report would display the description for the fused service switch. For a high static motor the limites for external static pressure were sometimes incorrect. The 42VG model type was incorrectly displaying the voltage as a voltage option. This voltage is not allowed on the 42VG model type. These models are no longer available for purchase. The 36S series room induction units are still available. UPDATE DESCRIPTION Packaged RTU Builder v1.39h includes the following changes: Removed the Electrical Data Prior to July 2012 from the Performance Report for all small and medium rooftop units. Added the Humidi-MiZer option the 48/50LC 3 to 25 ton units. Added display of actual full load amps based on unit line voltage to the electrical data section of the Performance Summary Report, for rooftop units using a powered convenience outlet. Added a special note for the hinged access panel accessory, CRHNGPNL003A00, to mention that this accessory must be ordered and obtained directly from Micro Metl. In addition, the following problems were corrected: On 50TCQ, size 17, horizontal with standard static indoor fan motor selected, none of the available electric heater accessories were displayed for selection. On 50TCQ, size 24, horizontal, the standard static indoor fan motor option was missing. The electrical data item OFM [Qty/Hp/FLA(ea)] only reported the outdoor fan motor quantity and FLA information. The label should instead be OFM [Qty/FLA(ea)]. On 48/50LC 6 to 10 ton units, and 12.5 to 23 ton units with RTU Open Controller, the Economizer X was incorrectly shown as being available. The humidistat accessory (--HL 38MG-029) was displayed as available for units with HumidiMiZer. For certain small packaged product models, the direct drive fan RPM was displayed as zero on the Performance Summary Report. The direct drive fan RPM should not be displayed for these units. Otherwise, if you have old projects with 50PEC, 50HQP, 50VQP or 50 PSW units, these projects should not be converted as these units are not valid for use in v6.00. To convert an existing project containing 50P1 units for use with v6.0, please use the following steps: We strongly recommend archiving projects before they are converted to v6.00 Start WSHP Builder v6.00. Choose the "Convert Project" item on the File Menu. A window will appear listing all current projects that contain v5.00 through 5.09c tags. Select all projects whose tags you wish to convert. Then press OK. 50P1 tags in the selected projects will be converted to become 50PS units.
