3 1 Introduction The application launcher "AdisTlsStartRDPA" allows the generation of file *.RDP containing connection informations to the remote server, login and applications to start on launching, then delete the file created when the connection is initiated. 2 Package The application launcher «AdisTlsStartRDPAs» consists of the following element: File Version AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe The tool «AdisTlsStartRDPAs» associated components have to be copy on AppliDis application servers in order to be configured then published on AppliDis administration console. Since the version of the tool «AdisTlsStartRDPAs», the process associated to this tool will stay active until all the child processes are closed if the tool isn t run with the option "/Display". 3 Functioning The tool «AdisTlsStartRDPA» allows initiating RDP connections whose credentials for authentication on the remote server have been predefined through the configuration tool interface. Thus, when running this tool, an RDP connection is established automatically without the user needing to learn anything. When the tool is running, it automatically generates a *.RDP file in the profile of the current user integrating predefined connection IDs, run the RDP connection using this file, then deletes it 1.5 seconds later. 4 Settings 4.1 Starting the tool GUI To access the tool configuration through the GUI, it is necessary to run it by specifying the "/ Display" argument. To do this, two methods are available: From a Windows command prompt: Sheet version /8

4 Screenshots Comments From a Windows command prompt, navigate to the directory containing the tool "AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe", then run it by specifying "/Display" as argument. By creating a shortcut integrating the "/ Display" argument: Example : AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe /Display Screenshots Comments Create a shortcut to the executable "AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe" then edit it. 5 4.2 Configuration Once the GUI tool displayed, parameters for RDP connection launching can be configured. The table below shows the correspondence between the settings available in the tool, and those available when launching the executable mstsc.exe: AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe MSTSC.exe Sheet version /8

6 After setting up the tool through the GUI, it is necessary to click "Save" in order to save the settings. Following this, a *.ini file with the same name as the application executable ( by default, this executable can be renamed) will be generated in the same directory that contains the tool. The tool must be published through the AppliDis administration console to make it available on the AppliDis web portal user and on the client AppliDis Desktop. 4.3 Setting example In the following example, the tool "AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe" will be published and executed from the AppliDis application server T970, the destination server to the RDP connection will be T892, the user account is T3\user1 and the application "notepad.exe" will be launched at the opening of the RDP session. Thus, users can access the application "NotePad.exe" hosted on the server T892 with a unique user account, from AppliDis. 7 Screenshots Comments To validate the configuration defined above, simply run the tool "AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe" without specifying the "/Display". In this case, an RDP connection has been established on the T892 server with the user account T3 \ user1 and with "Notepad.exe" as application for session opening. The tool configuration is correct. Following this, tool "AdisTlsStartRDPAs.exe" has to be published through the AppliDis administration console to make it available for users. Sheet version /8
