Meanwhile, at Spotify HQ... What s all the fuss about?
What does all this mean? 00:49

Disruption Small agile team(s) Big slow organization
Why is agile spreading so fast? Unclear/unstable Agile is optimized for this! What to deliver Complex Clear & stable Simple Clear & stable How to deliver it Unclear/unstable
State of Agile survey Agile has gone mainstream! Top 3 reasons: - Speed - Manage changing priorities - Productivity
Things to ponder 00:49
Is Agile only for Software? What s going to happen? Is Agile a Silver Bullet?
Is Agile only for software? 00:49
Spreading like a virus

Is Agile a Silver Bullet? 00:49
Goal: Kick the ball out of my tent 89: SCORE Goal: Collaborate to win the game! Image & metaphor credit: Niclas Modig
What next? 00:49
Next 10 years? It s hard to make predictions especially about the future - someone More complexity, faster change. Agile will keep spreading to different industries The word Agile will fade, as the principles get more and more embedded in the way we lead and organize companies. Agile approach considered obvious, and therefore not interesting to talk about. Various agile frameworks will keep coming and going (because we re suckers for cool buzzwords and agile is a fashion industry) In complex competitive industries, organizations that don t go agile will die off.
Take aways AGILE Agile is a direction, not a place You won t get it right from start, so experiment a lot! Agile is a tool not a goal Distinguish between the words and the ideas Words come and go Principles are timeless Complex Distinguish between principles and practices Agile principles apply widely... but specific practices must be adapted to your context Simple Agile is optimized for complexity The more complex your environment is, the more you need agility
