2 FAQ 1. Q: What s the difference between Default mode and Custom mode when installing the software? A: Default means most modules of the software (except Recording Server) will be installed on your computer automatically, while Custom means you can choose the module that you need. We recommend you to choose Custom mode to install the software. 2. Q: How can I uninstall the software? A: There are two ways to uninstall ivms-5200 Professional (hereafter simplified as ivms-5200 Pro). 1. Run the installation package and choose Remove mode. 2. Click Control Panel Programs Uninstall a program to uninstall the software. Note: Please always remember to exit Service Manager before you uninstall the software. 3. Q: There is an error message shows The database has been installed on your computer. Please manually uninstall it and then install the ivms-5200 Professional during installation process. Why is that? A: It might be happen if you didn t uninstall the software in a proper way before. Please type command sc delete service name to delete the database service manually and then reinstall the ivms-5200 Pro. 4. Q: Why does the system pop up a tip Port 80 is occupied during installation process? A: Because the port 80 was occupied by other applications. There are two methods to solve the problem: 1, End the process of the application which occupies the port 80 by typing netstat ano findstr 80. 2, Change the port 80 to a value which is not occupied. 5. Q: Why does the system popup the message Starting the database failed, now exit the program during the installation process? 2

3 A: It may be caused by the loss of database. If you uninstalled the software as the recommended way, please restart the computer and run the installation package. But if you didn t uninstall the software in a proper way, please try to delete the service manually by typing sc delete service name in command window. Note: Please always remember to restart the computer after uninstalling the platform. 6. Q: Can I deploy the software in virtual machine? A: The current version only supports deploying CMS in virtual machine. 7. Q: Why does the server status show Registering after I change the CMS IP on Setting in Service Manager? A: Because you haven t finished the process. There are 2 steps to complete the process. First, input the CMS IP address on Setting in Service Manager. Second, Login Web Client Click System of General Management Click IP Address Choose the right IP address in the dropdown list of LAN IP Address. 8. Q: Why can t I login Web Client after I install the software? A: First, please check the CMS status and make sure you have input the correct IP address and port number. Second, please check whether you have installed the web plug-in. Third, if the steps above are all right, please add the IP address to trusted sites. 9. Q: Why does the bar chart of Recording Server (RS) configuration shows no change after 7 days recording? A: Because the bar chart of RS configuration only shows the space capacity of the disk which has been allocated for RS, not the capacity of recordings, so it s normal that the bar chart shows no change after 7 days recording. 10. Q: Can I configure Command Recording for all devices connected to platform? A: No, Command Recording only applies to ATM device storage. 11. Q: Why cannot I pre-allocate the Recording Server? A: First, please check whether your HDD only has one disk C. If your HDD only has one disk partition, please part the HDD into at least two different disks. 3

4 Second, the software cannot pre-allocate the disk which installed 5200 Pro servers. Generally, we suggest you to install servers on disk C. Third, Recording Server only supports disk with NTFS and exfat format. 12. Q: Does the current version support Dual Stream recording? A: Yes, it supports Dual Stream recording, but the recordings should be stored in device itself. Please refer to Compatibility List to check the specific device models. 13. Q: I ve done the event configuration on Web Client, but there is no events information on Control Client. Why is that? A: First, please check the event configuration you have done. If the configuration steps are not complete or nor right, please edit the configuration. Second, please check whether the device time is the same with the software or not. If not, please synchronize the device time with the software. Third, If the two methods above are all ok, please reboot the device. 14. Q: Are there any limitations for CVR usage? A: Yes, there are. First, when you choose Storage 2 in Record Schedule, CVR is only for Video Storage or Video Backup. Video Storage and Video Backup cannot be chosen at the same time. Second, Video Backup and ANR function cannot be done in one CVR, if you want to use CVR for Video Backup and ANR function at the same time, please prepare two CVRs. 15. Q: Why does the picture of E-map fail to be shown on Control Client? A: First, please check the resolution of imported picture because the maximum value of the picture is 1900*1440. Second, the client has limitation to the picture bandwidth. If end-users want to import picture with larger size, please contact with our pre-sales engineers to customize the software. 16. Q: Why does it take about 20 seconds when switching 8X playback speed to 1X playback speed during remote playback process? A: The buffering time relates to the frame rate of the camera. When you choose to playback the video in 8X speed, the client will decode the video in 8X speed to 1X speed too. But when you switch to playback the video in 1X speed, the 4

5 client will playback the video which has been decoded in 8X speed. So the phenomenon is normal. 17. Q: How many encoding types does CPU decoding support? A: CPU decoding supports H.265, H.264, H.264+, MPEG2, MPEG4 and MJPEG. 18. Q: How many encoding types does GPU decoding support? A: GPU decoding supports H.265, H.264, H Q: Does the Mobile Client support GPU decoding? A: Yes, it does. And when there has something wrong with GPU decoding on Mobile Client, GPU decoding will be switched to CPU decoding automatically. 20. Q: Does the current version support PanoVu series camera? A: Yes, it does. It supports accessing PanoVu series DS-2CD6986F-(H) and viewing the live video of the device without SMS. 5
