The START command is given according to P1 position by an open or closed button and works only when enabled by the READY command. Call cycle enabling command DISABLED = message will not start. ENABLED = message will be send when the "START" command will be activated. Output normally open towards negative (100 ma MAX). The output is active from the begining of the call cycle and remains active until an answer is given and the hand-free dialog begins. 4 DISPLAY DESCRIPTION INITIALIZATION AND DATE AND TIME ADJUSTMENT REPORTER 000 LIFT EMERGENCY DIALLER CONNECTIONS WITH EXTERNAL PREAMPLIFIED MICROPHONES/SPEAKERS CODE FOR HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATIONS WITH OTHER PREMISES. When powered for the first time, or when battery is discharged, the display blinks indicating : JUMPER P1 MUST BE ON (N.C. START BUTTONS ) DATE/TIM You must set the DATE and TIME as indicated by the following messages : DISPLAY BLINKING + 14 V START READY SENT RECEIVED IN MICRO OUT SPEAKER + BATT BATT GROUND TEL. TEL. 1A PREAMPLIFIED EXTERNAL MODULE Cod Icons description DATE/TIME ENTER NEW DATE (DAY - MONTH - YEAR) TELEPHONE MAINS FAILURE ON : no failure OFF: mains failure. 0/04/01 0 APR 01 ALWAYS ON EMERGENCY CALLS EVENT MEMORY ON : one or more emergency calls. OFF : Log has been consulted. HR. 11/11 ENTER NEW TIME READY COMMAND Closed = dialler is out of duty; Open = dialler enabled (READY). MEMORY OF FAILURES ON : Line failure during call cycle OFF: No failures or log has been consulted. BATTERY DISCHARGED ON : Battery is discharged OFF: Battery is ok Important: verify the charge of the battery only when mains are OFF. After the DATE and TIME have been adjusted, the dialler will reach then the stand-by condition and the icons will appear on the display. It will also be necessary to adjust DATE and TIME should the battery be discharged (under 9V) or in case of a long power failure. Enter now the code to reach the programming functions. IMPORTANT: if you do not know or you do not remember the CODE follow the procedure NORMALLY CLOSED BUTTONS (P1 MUST BE ON) TELEPHONE RECEIVER 1. LOUD-SPEAKER. MICROPHONE TELEPHONE RECEIVER 1. LOUD-SPEAKER. MICROPHONE

5 REMOTE CALL FOR INTERROGATION PRESENTATION The dialler works as indicated below : REPORTER 000 authorize us to call the car by phone to activate the hands-free communication when the dialler is in condition READY (usually when the car is firm - terminal 4 at work). To call the REPORTER you must : - Call the REPORTER, wait for or 3 rings and hang up again; - Wait 10 seconds and call again the dialler within one minute. The REPORTER will take your call at the third ring emitting a tone to indicate you have 8 seconds to digit your CODE followed by the key. Here is an example with CODE 9999 : 1) Dial the Reporter s phone number; ) Let ring for or 3 times and hang up again; 3) Wait 10 seconds; 4) Dial again; At the third ring the REPORTER answers and sends you a long tone. Enter your code on the keyboard of your DTMF telephone. Press the key to validate the code. REPORTER will repeat the last message sent. At the end of the message : - You have 70 seconds of HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION. When you hear a "BEEP" press on key to get an extra time of 70 sec. You can prolonge several times the communication. At the end of the 70 sec. period you can : - just wait for the REPORTER to hang up and return to the stand-by state. - press the key and the REPORTER hangs up again returning to the stand-by state having cancelled the alarm memories indications on the display. The HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION can be done throught the REPORTER s built-in microphone or throught a preamplified external module cod THE READY COMMAND enables or disables the START COMMAND. When READY is active, the START COMMAND activation will provoke the CALL CYCLE on the programmed telephone numbers. The READY terminal can be connected to the control panel outputs to enable the calling capacity ONLY when really necessary (car bloqued, car stopped between two floors, etc...). When the READY command is disabled the START command has no effects. During the call cycle, an eventual transition ON/OFF on the READY command will not stop the calls. The call can be bloqued only digiting a CODE on the dialler s keyboard. NON VOLATILE MEMORY In case of total power down the REPORTER keeps all memories (message, numbers, presettings) but the DATE and TIME must be entered again. USE OF READY AND START COMMANDS USING ONLY THE START COMMAND (no alarm filtering on the control panel): P1 ON (NORMALLY CLOSED BUTTON) Terminal 4 (READY) not connected. Terminal 3 (START) connect a normally closed button (towards ). When falls the dialler will begin the call cycle. P1 OFF (NORMALLY OPEN BUTTON) Terminal 4 (READY) connected to terminal 7 (). Terminal 3 (START) connect a normally open button that closes to (terminal 7). When the arrives the dialler starts the calls. Use of START and READY commands (in this case the control panel foresees the alarm filtering ): P1 ON (NORMALLY CLOSED BUTTON) Terminal 4 (READY) will be connected to the control panel s alam filtering output. A (terminal 7) will be present when the dialler is disabled (for exemple when the car is at floor with the doors open). The Alarm filtering output should drop the or give a positive signal when the dialler is ready to start. Terminal 3 (START) connect a Normally Closed button towards. When is dropped the dialler will start calling. P1 OFF (NORMALLY OPEN BUTTON) Terminal 4 (READY) connect to the control panel open contact that indicates that the dialler should be disabled (when the car is at floor with the doors open). 6 HOW CAN I PROGRAM THE PHONE NUMBERS CALL CYCLES AND HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION NUMBERS NUMBER 1 Number you are programming NUM 1 Number programmed The telephone number can have up to 3 digits max. press the key C once to delete the last digit. Pressing twice, quickly, the key C you will delete the whole number. SPECIAL KEYS Enter the digits "P" short pause ( seconds)?0p When a call cycle starts, the dialler will call sequentially the numbers programmed. If a number gives no answer, the number will not be called again, the dialler will call the other numbers. If a number is busy the dialler will call the next number and then will try three times to contact the busy number again. In case the dial tone is not present the dialler will try twice to get the line again. When a number answers the dialler will send twice the recorded message (if recorded) and then will emit a "BEEP". The pression on the key at the end of the HANDS-FREE DIALOG will interrupt the call cycle. In the historical file the call will be registered as CONFIRMED. To prolonge the HANDS-FREE DIALOG for 70 sec. more you just have to press once on the key after the sound BEEP has been heard. At the end of the70 sec., sif no key has been pressed ithe dialler stops calls and returns in stand-by condition (if no other number must be dialled) "R" long pause (15 seconds) NUMBER NUMBER 3 NUM 4 TEST? Disables the dial tone recognition. Pressed and thus inserted before the number : dial tone recognition is disabled. Placed at the end of the number: there is no more tones recognition, message is sent automatically. You can press on the TEST KEY in front of a programmed number. The number will be dialled and you will have a hands-free communication. HOW I CAN OBTAIN THE INSTALLER CODE - Open the dialler housing (the contact will signal opening) - Press on the LOST CODE BUTTON - Verify that the display indicates : CODE MESSAGE TEST You can here press the TEST KEY to hear the message but you you will not be able to change it. For this you must record it again. - Press the "" to visualize the code. - Press on the "ESC" key to quit the function. Important: this function enables you to visualize the installer code but you cannot change it here. When in stand-by condition you can use this code to enter the program MENU. IMPORTANT: - you can program up to 4 telephones numbers; - each telephone number can have up to 3 digits. ACCESSING THE PROGRAMMING MENU 9999 Digit the installer code 9999 (Default code) ESC Important : the INSTALLER CODE must have 4 digits MIN. NUMBERS ACCESS MENU When you press the key ESC inside a function you will jump to the MAIN MENU saving the changes eventually made. If you press the same key twice you will quit the MENU and return directly to the standby condition. 6 11

7 TESTING AN EMERGENCY CALL HOW I CAN MODIFY THE INSTALLER CODE TEST CALL AND CONVERSATION. The VOCAL TEST procedure sends the recorded message to the selected programmed number. CODE 9999 Code length is 4 digits MIN and 6 digits MAX. Entering the new code in this function will make the new code immediatly active. Enter INSTALLER CODE 9999 (default) NUMBERS NUM 1 DATE AND TIME NUM TEST You can send the recorded message to the selected number. DATE/TIME 11/03/01 HR. 11/11 If you want to start the HANDS-FREE CONVERSATION before the end of the message transmission press the KEY. At the end of the TEST press the ESC KEY. ENTER NEW DATE ENTER NEW TIME EMERGENCY CALL (terminal READY is activated) You can also activate an EMERGENCY CALL pressing on the KEY. If no DELAY has been programmed the call will start immediatly, if the delay is programmed you will have to press on the key for 3 seconds. - during this period a BEEP will be emitted. - the dialler will remain active for 70 seconds for the HANDS-FREE FUNCTION. If no keys have been pressed, the REPORTER will then drop the line. On the dialler you can always inhibate a call cycle by entering the INSTALLER CODE HOW I CAN MODIFY OPTIONS Enter date as : DD, MM, YY (day - month - year) Enter time as : HH, MM The TIME format is 4 HOURS. (hours - minutes) 11 AUG 01 To enter date : August 01, ENTER : To enter time: 1 o clock... ENTER : 1 00 HR. 1/00 OPTIONS DTMF Modify some parameters of the dialler. DIALLING MODE : Normally DTMF (MULTIFREQUENCY) is used. Use KEY to change DIALLING MODE to PULSE MODE DELAY NO ESC DELAY ON START BUTTON changed by KEY NO: no delay; YES: START command delayed. The START BUTTON must be pressed for 3 seconds at least to provoke a EMERGENCY CALL. If the button is pressed for less than 3 seconds there is no call. OPTIONS IMPORTANT: Press KEY ESC once to jump to the MAIN MENU and press it twice to return in stand-by condition. 8 9

8 HISTORICAL LOG INTERROGATION HOW CAN I RECORD THE MESSAGE Having entered the CODE, you will enter the MENU that enables you to brownse the historical file. MESSAGE RECORD SPEAK 0 MESS? HISTORY You have two possibilities when you interrogate the historical log : 1) NO NEW EVENTS (no alighted icon) In this case you will have to select with the keys of the old events you want to visualize and press. the icon ) NEW EVENTS PRESENCE (some icons are on) In this case you do not have to select anything as using the keys you will automatically brownse the events you have not yet consulted. When you leave this function, using the key ESC, the icons memorized on the display will be cancelled. During message recording the display indicates by countdown the remaining time. TO END PRESS KEY ESC HYSTORY Selecting the ICONS EMERGENCY CALLS. POWER FAILURE. LOW BATTERY. FAILURE DURING CALL CYCLE. The Historical log keeps the memory of the last : - 8 call cycles; - power down events; - 4 battery discharged events; - line failure events. You will see first the last event when consulting the file (Last In - First Out). FILE INTERROGATION EXEMPLE : 6 FEB 01 HR CYCLE NUMBER 1 ANSWER NUMBER ABSENT NUMBER 3 BUSY NUMBER 4 CONFIRMED END 13 FEB 01 HR BATT KO END MESS MESSAGE RECORDED TEST The vocal message will be accepted only if its length is superior to 3 seconds. Recording begins when you press the key and will end only when the key will be released, otherwise when the recording time will end. If you want to hear agin the message you can press the key TEST. Using the key Plays the recorded message. C you will record again the message. You want to MESS C modify the message RECORD SPEAK 0 MESS IMPORTANT: Using the key ESC inside a function makes you jump to the MAIN MENU.
