Patient Friendly Version (PFR) of the discharge summary is available You may want to give the patients their own version of the discharge summary. You can configure the PFR to meet your Trust s requirements. The first step is to call the Unisoft help desk on +44 (0) to have the PFR enabled. The call will only take one minute and will only need to be carried out once. Once this is done, you then you need to configure the PFR feature. Log in as an administrator. Call up any patient in the opening screen and RIGHT-click on him or her. Click Print last report, and select a procedure. You will see the Print the reports dialog box appear. Click the button arrowed.

2 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 2 of 14 In the next screen, click the button arrowed in red in order to begin configuring the PFR. Note that you can also redirect the PFR to any other printer in recovery, say. To do this, click the dropdown button arrowed in blue. Clicking the button arrowed in red will bring up the following screen where you can customise your own copy of the report. The changes made here will be applied to your whole site.

3 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 3 of 14 Place ticks in these check boxes on the left to have sections included / excluded from the PFR Then modify the text accompanying the included sections On the PFR you can have up to four boxes, with accompanying text, that are manually tick by a nurse. Click these buttons to change the appropriate text.

4 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 4 of 14 To include the PFR with the printed reports just click the check box arrowed. A sample PFR can be found at the back of these enhancement sheets.

5 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 5 of 14 2 There is a new option to output the JAG / GRS reports as Excel spreadsheets ready for uploading to the JAG web site One very useful feature: the position of endoscopists can be randomised and then anonymised within these reports. In this situation their names appear on a separate sheet within the Excel workbook and can be used in comparative studies where anonymity is essential. To produce these reports you must be logged into Unisoft with administrator rights. The JAG/GRS option is available on the Reports menu in the opening screen see below.

6 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 6 of 14 Type in part of a name to find specific endoscopists in the list on the left You can hide suppressed endoscopists and/or anonymise the reports You can save the list of endoscopists on the right of the screen by clicking this button and then recall this selection later And these are the reports that can be produced. Switch on or off the boxes accordingly.

7 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 7 of 14 3 You can record that a procedure was not carried out by RIGHT-clicking on a patient in the opening screen. There are now two ways these reports can be entered. The first is to actually go into a procedure, record that the procedure was not carried and why, and then print the report. In the screen below you click the box arrowed and then complete the details. The other way is to right-click on a patient and select Procedure NOT undertaken

To begin with, an administrator who has the Configure menu option enabled sets up these reasons Then, to lock/unlock a list. you right click on the padlock and enter the reason

9 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 9 of 14 Each action has to be confirmed with the user s password, simply to prevent accidental locking/unlocking by someone else. And whilst all (non-read only) users can lock a list, ONLY an administrator can unlock a list. You can see the locked status by hovering the mouse over the padlock 4.2 You can now cancel and re-instate free slots. You do this by right-clicking on the free slot. Again the items in this list come from the Reasons set above by an Administrator

10 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 10 of 14 The reason for cancellation is then shown in the main scheduling window. Then, to return the slot back to being FREE, right-click on the slot and click Reinstate this free slot.

11 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 11 of In the scheduler you can record whether a patient attended or not. This is important for the Capacity and Demand figures (see next section). To record this information, RIGHT click on the patient in the list and click Patient attended/dna You get a CROSS signifying a DNA or a TICK signifying attended beneath the patient (see right)

13 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 13 of 14 This gives a good overview of room utilisation how many slots an endoscopist has, how many of them have been booked and attended, how many slots are remaining, and the status of each list whether it is locked or not. 4.5 You can now add General Information or an Alert flag to the patient notes Once set, the flags appear in the list to the right of the patient s name

14 Version Enhancements: (November 2012) Page 14 of You can now add grid lines when printing the lists plus you can also preview the report before printing it Note: you can also choose the number of copies, which lists you want to print (am or pm), whether you want to include the call-in times, whether you want the moved or cancelled patient included in the list, whether you want them printed in landscape or portrait, and the font size. Sample patient friendly version of the report follows:
