3 AHD MOBILE DVR User Manual Welcome Thank you for purchasi Videocon WallCam product. This manual is designed as a reference tool for the installation and operation of the Mobile DVR. Before installation and operation please read the followi safeguards and warnis carefully! Overview Videocon WallCam Mobile DVR has been designed for Analog HD vehicle monitori. With built-in high performance image processor and advanced H.264 video compression technology, it provides video recordi, storage and playback solution. It has built-in 3G/4G/Wi-Fi module (optional) for remote monitori, analysis and management. It comes with smart power management system. If the DVR detects that the battery s voltage is lower than the given value, the device will shutdown automatically and switch to its ultralow standby consumption. 1. 6 2.2 Antenna Connection (Optional) Connect the Wi-Fi, 3G/4G and GPS antenna as illustrated in below picture. We suggest you to put the GPS/3G/4G antenna externally at the vehicle s roof for improved signal streth. 2.4 Camera Connection You can connect the camera with the AV input cable directly, or by extension cable (if required). The AV cable in the accessories box has a mark on each connector, AV 1-4 are for cameras. Figure 8. Antenna Connec on Figure 10. Cameras Connec on 2.3 Power Connection Please connect the power as per the depiction of power interface. Positive pole (RED) connects with power input 9-36V DC, ACC ignition (YELLOW) connects with 5-36V DC. The yellow ignition wire is used to detect the ignition signal. We stroly suggest you to connect it with the RUN terminal of the ignition switch or any terminal in the vehicle s switch box which will have power only when the vehicle eine is turned on (FM radio). 2.5 Monitor Connection The device supports VGA and CVBS output. User Interface Setup 3.1 Device Installation Once the hardware has been mounted / installed as per the given guidelines, proceed with followi installation guidelines The Menu is displayed as shown here: 3.2 User Login Right click the mouse to login, enter your Username, Password, and select your lauage, click OK to login. (The default Username is admin and password is <blank>) Figure-14. Primary menu 3.3 Setup - System Time Go to Basic>>>DateTime, see as followi: Figure 12.User Login Interface Right click the mouse, select Menu to open setup in the menu, see as follows: Figure 15. System date and me Time sync: Date and Time can be synchronized with GPS. Figure-13. Menu 3.4 Setup Cameras Go to Menu>>>Record>>>Mode. Please select the Signal Type i.e PAL or NTSC for your cameras, select the channel that you want to set up. The DVR works with both AHD and analog cameras. If you are usi AHD cameras, then select the first Type. If you are usi analog cameras, please select the third Type, and if you use both general and AHD cameras, please select the second Type i.e. 720P & 960H. See as followi: 8 9

8 The DVR can be connected to the server usi Device ID. Please enter the device ID and register the same on your server. The user can modify the Vehicle name and Plate number accordi to their requirement Disk Management Disk needs to be formatted in the device when usi it for the first time. If the disk is not detected by the device, then please check the disk lock and make sure it is locked. Figure 16. Recordi se Figure 17. Signal Type setup 3.5 Wizard Go to Menu>>>Wizard. This Wizard will help you to connect your mobile DVR to the server. Figure 19. Wizard-Disk Management G/4G Setup The device will detect the 3G/4G Module Type automatically. Insert the SIM card that corresponds with the detected Module Type. Please consult your SIM card operator to make sure you enter the correct information i.e. Dial Number, APN, Username, and Password Vehicle Information Setup Figure 20. 3G/4G se Figure 18. Vehicle informa on setup Wi-Fi Setti The device can save maximum 6 WIFI ESSID (Access Points). It will search, match, connect, and switch between Access Points automatically. Click on Enable to search available WIFI network>>>select the one you want to connect with>>>enter the password and click on save. 11

9 4. System Menu Figure 21. WI-FI se list Server Setti IP (or Domain) is your server s IP (or Domain); the port should correspond to your server setup. 4.1 Video Playback Figure 24. System menu The DVR supports one channel video playback. To access the video recordi, select Playback in System menu. In this menu, you can search the recorded videos by selecti date, time, etc. Figure 22. Wizard-Server se NetState Go to Menu>>>Network>>>NetState to check the state of the network connection of your device. Server: If the status is Online, it means the device is connected to the server. Figure 25. Video searchi 4.2 Video Backup You can take the backup in your USB device. There are two backup modes, Normal and Event. In the Normal tab, you can take the backup accordi to your requirement. In the Event tab, you can take the backup of events e.g. alarms, etc. Figure 23. NetState 12 Figure 26. Video Backup 13

10 4.3.2 Vehicle Information Figure 27. Video file list 4.3 Basic Setti The basic setup menu includes options such as DateTime, Vehicle Information, and Preview, etc., See as followi: Figure 30. Vehicle Informa on Device ID is used to connect your DVR with the server. You need to register the same ID on the server Preview Setti There are two options under preview menu 1) Preview and 2) Record OSD. Information which can be added in preview and recordi. Please note that the options selected in preview menu will not be recorded as these are for live viewi only and vice versa. Figure 28. 12 5. Network Setup Network setup: This interface is used to set up the necessary parameters that connect the device to the server. Figure 40. 3G/4G setup Figure 38. Network Setup 5.1 Server Setup IP/Domain is the WAN static IP or domain of your device s server. 5.3 Wi-Fi Setti The device can save maximum 6 WIFI ESSID (Access Points). It will search, match, connect, and switch between those Access Points automatically. Click on Enable to search available WIFI network>>>select the one you want to connect with>>>enter the password and click on save. Figure 39. Server setup 5.2 3G/4G Setup The device will detect the 3G/4G ModuleType automatically. Insert the SIM card that corresponds with the detected ModuleType. Please consult your SIM card operator to make sure you enter the correct parameters i.e. DialNumber, APN, Username, and Password). Figure 41. WI-FI Se List 5.4 Network State Go to Menu>>>Network>>>NetState to check the state of the network connection of your device here. Server: If the status is Online, it means the device is connected to the server

13 6.2 Main Stream Main Stream will be stored in the local disk. This interface shows the current Main Stream setti and the correspondi storage size. You can click on any line to set up the correspondi parameters. Figure 42. Network State 6. Recordi Setup Recordi setup includes Mode, Main Stream, Sub Stream, Recordi OSD, Image, and Mirror recordi setti. Figure 45. WI-FI Se List 6.1 Recordi Mode Setti Figure 43. Recordi se Go to Menu>>>Record>>>Mode. Please select the SignalType i.e. PAL or NTSC for your cameras, select the channel that you want to set up. The DVR works with both AHD and analog cameras. If you are usi AHD cameras, then select the first Type. If you are usi analog cameras, please select the third Type, and if you use both general and AHD cameras, please select the second Type i.e. 720P & 960H. See as follows: Figure 46. 14 6.6 Image Setti Image setti has the options to adjust brightness, contrast, hue & saturation. Figure 48. SubStream AV se If you are usi 4G network then you can select the D1 resolution as this will give you better video quality if you have access to the live feed remotely. 6.4 Recordi Storage Figure 51. Image setup 6.7 Mirror Setti You can rotate the image horizontally or vertically. The same is applicable for both preview and recordi. Figure 49. Recordi storage The device supports dual storage (Mirror storage), means you can store the same recordi in both HDD and SD at the same time. For example, you can store the main stream in HDD and sub stream in SD card. If there is any error with the HDD then you can access the sub stream videos from your SD card. 6.5 Recordi OSD You can select the information that you want to incorporate in recordi. Figure 52. Mirror se 7. Advanced Setti This interface is used for User Management, Drivi Habits monitori, UART port setti, Temperature Sensor, Reverse Lines setti and displayi the text received from the server. 15 7.1 User Management You can add, modify, and delete users. 8. Device Maintenance Device Maintenance includes the basic maintenance of the device such as Log searchi, Disk Management, Configuration parameter (import/export), and System Upgrade. Figure 54. User Management 7.2 Reverse Camera The DVR comes with Reverse camera function. Any channel can be used as reverse camera, click Zone to set up the reverse assistance lines. Figure 57. Device Maintenance. 8.1 Log Inquiry You can see the system logs here. The log includes local operation, system on/off, alarm information, etc. Figure 58. Log inquiry Figure 55. Reverse camera se The assistance lines can be adjusted by clicki on blue dots. 8.2 Disk Management You can check the status of the disk here. 16 8.3 Parameter Relation You can import/export the settis of one Mobile DVRs and export/import it to another one. All the configurations will be replicated to new mobile DVR. The same will be exported/imported from/to USB 9. Alarm Setti Alarm setup interface includes the options related to alarm, such as Input/Output alarm, Video Loss, Fatigue Drivi, Over Speed, and Disk error. Figure 60. Import/Export 8.4 System Upgrade Please format your USB disk as FAT32 type and copy the software upgrade file to the root directory of the USB disk from PC. Then restart the device, and it will be upgraded automatically. If you don t want to restart the device, you can upgrade it in the Import/Export menu. Select the upgradi type>>>click OK>>>insert the USB disk. The system will detect the upgrade file in the USB disk and it will be upgraded automatically. Figure 63. Alarm se 9.1 Input Alarm The device has 4 alarm inputs, No-2 & No-4 are positive trigger and No-1 & No-3 are negative trigger. (This option may vary from model to model.) Figure 61. You can set up the fatigue drivi time, to remind the driver to avoid fatigue drivi. 9.2 Alarm Out Setti You can setup the type of alarm output (interact, remote, manual, and state), Manual is used to debug the device. Alarm Out Types 9.3 Video Loss The Video loss alarm will be triggered if the camera stops worki or if incompatible camera is connected. Figure 70. 18 10. DVR Server Software - Overview The DVR server software is powerful remote management tool, which enables the users to manage - remote mobile devices and different clients. The software facilitates - remote device management, user rights management (different users can be configured accordi to requirement) and to view remote mobile devices. The instructions given herewith are only for software operation and related to the function settis of the specified equipment; and would be fitti for user responsible for planni, executi, or rechecki the hardware installation of the network video monitori software. Click the "Next " tab to proceed with the installation of the DVRServer Setup software. DVR Server Software - Install/ Uninstall 11.1 DVR Server Software Installation Install the DVR server software on your Windows PC from the CD, or download the software from Open the "DVRServerSetup.exe" file an installer (like the dialog box shown in the figure) will appear. Click the drop-down list to select the lauage for the software installation, select Elish and click 'OK' to proceed. Figure 73. 19 Once the installation is successful, the dialogue box will state DVRServer has been installed on the computer. Click "Finish" to successfully install the software/ close the setup. Click the drop-down list to select the lauage for the software installation, select Elish and click 'OK' to proceed. Figure 76. Select lauage Click "Cancel" to exit from the uninstall process/ dialogue box. Click "Uninstall" to proceed. Figure 75. Comple the DVR server setup A DVRServer software shortcut icon on the desktop will be generated (if opted for) DVR Server Software Uninstall To uninstall the software; please proceed by ensuri the DVR server is closed. Open the path in which the software has been installed Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\cms\dvrserver Double click on the Uninstall icon "Uninstall.exe" to proceed. Figure 77. 20 12. DVR Server Software Operation DVR Server is important for managi the connection, data exchae, preview, intercom, and device management of the client s mobile DVR. DVR Server is also responsible for managi the on-board DVR activity, abnormal alarm data uploadi, audio/video stream upload, GPS uploads and so on Device Addition In the blank area of device management group, right-click the mouse button, and select the add group in the context menu. Figure 78. DVR server 13. Device and User Management In the DVR Server home screen, click on the "Device Settis" tab to enter the Device Management and User Management interface. Figure 80. 21 Right-click the mouse on the new group created "WallCam", and select add area from the context menu. Right-click the area icon and select the Add Device option from the context menu to add user device. More than one device can be added under an area. Figure 84. 22 13.2 User Management To create a user in the user management field - right-click in the blank space; and click on "add user" from the context menu. Figure 87. Add User Add /Link Devices with the User Once the area has been defined for a user, next step involves linki the device. Left -click (Select) the device from the Device management and click >>>> the selected device will be added to the correspondi user area. Figure 86. Device Se Proceed to fill the username and password in the Add User pop-up that appears. The loest username can be of 15 bits, and password is 9 bits. To add the area under the user management field, select the user name by right-clicki and selecti the "add area" from the context menu. Add the area name (for example: Delhi) in the pop-up dialog box. More than one area can be defined for a user. 38 Figure 88. Device Se 39

23 14. Server Settis Configure DVRServer to run environment parameters, includi MySQL information, forwardi server information, port information. The default does not need to be modified. 16. Mobile DVR Menu Setti for Server After the ports have been forwarded to the Static -IP of the servers, proceed to DVR user interface for mobile DVR server setti: 1. Go to DVR Main Menu>>> Wizard>>> Server. 2. Select the Mode>>>IP 3. Add the Static IP of server in the IP field (same for all DVRs). 4. Click on Finish tab Figure 90. Mobile DVR Menu Se for Server Proceed to check if the device has been connected with the server: 1. Go to DVR Main Menu >>>Network>>>NetState 2. NetState will show the connection status of the device with the server. 3. If the status is Server: Online, it means the device is connected with the server. Figure 89. Server Se 15. Port Forwardi on Server PC 1. To establish online connection between the server and the mobile DVRs a Static-WAN IP address on the server network needs to be provided. 2. Provide a Static-Local IP address to the server PC. For example: The user will then need to Login to the router page on the browser & forward the port through (IP) with & port numbers (control port & data port respectively). 40 Figure 91. NetState 41

Mobile DVR CMS Configuration Post Server login, the followi screen will be displayed: Install the MDVR_CMS software on your Windows PC from the CD, or download the software from Once the software has been installed, run the same. In the MDVR_CMS login menu fill the required fields: Server Addr : Static-IP of server Server Port : User Name : Given on server configuration (created at the time of User Management) Password : Given on server configuration (created at the time of User Management) Fill the required info in the same to proceed. (Below illustration for reference) 18. Mobile setup Download the Android Application on your Android phone from the website: Alternately, you can copy the installer (.apk file) in your Android phone from the CD.
