PPV332211C USSB Caappttuurree Booxx is using high-quality Multi-function chipset to provide you the best capture effects. You can just simply connect PPV332211C into your PC and you can capture a single picture or record the video source from TV, VCR Laser Disc in Bitmap or AVI file format which can be edited by different editing software. 5 HARDWARE EQUIPMENT CONNECTING 5 Black RCA Connector (Video to TV) USB Connector Snapshot Button Note: When video source is from AV (CVBS) input, video can be played to TV through black RCA connector. But if the Video source is from S-Video (Y/C) input, it can not be connected to TV out.

6 Advice before Installation 6 Hardware Portion: Because PV321C is a USB interface Multi-function box, please be sure to confirm there is an available USB port on your PC Software Portion: 1. To WINDOWS TM 98/2000 Users: If you are using WINDOWS TM 98/2000 OS(regular/OSR or higher version), please make sure if you have installed Microsoft TM DirectX5 or higher version in your system. 2. To WINDOWS TM NT Users: Sorry, PV-321C doesn t support WINDOWS TM NT OS yet. Installation Steps IMPORTANT!! BEFORE CONNECTING PV321C TO USB PORT, PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DRIVER HAS BEEN INSTALLED PROPERLY. OTHERWISE, PC CAN T DETECT PV321C USB DEVICE.

$Select Install Menu X:\PV-321C\Driver\Win 98 or 2000 (X: means CD-ROM). 4. Install Setup.exe driver. After successfully installing PV321C driver, re-start your PC.$

7 A. Driver Installation 7 1. Power on your PC and insert PC321C CD driver onto the CD-ROM Driver. 2. Go to Windows OS [Start]>[Run]>[Open] Click [Browse] button to CD menu. 3. Select Install Menu X:\PV-321C\Driver\Win 98 or 2000 (X: means CD-ROM). 4. Install Setup.exe driver. After successfully installing PV321C driver, re-start your PC. And then plug PV321C USB Capture Box into USB connector. Windows OS will detect driver SPCA506A,WDM Audio Capture/ SPCA506,Sunplus USB Camera and install the driver in its system. (Refer to Photo 1).

$Or o to Windows (Start) > (Run) > (Open), click (browse) button to CD menu. Go to X:\PV321C\AP\Win 98 or 2000\ Setup.exe (X: means CD-ROM). InstallShield Wizard shows up as Photo 2.$

8 8 Application Installation 1. You can either use Auto-run function : When inserting PV321C CD, click PV321when auto-run menu appears. Or o to Windows (Start) > (Run) > (Open), click (browse) button to CD menu. Go to X:\PV321C\AP\Win 98 or 2000\ Setup.exe (X: means CD-ROM). InstallShield Wizard shows up as Photo 2. In few seconds, it turns to next dialogue (Photo 3).

9 2. Select the correct video standard according to the local system and click OK to next step (refer to Photo 3) Click (Next) button (Photo 4) to next dialogue.

10 4. Click (Finish) and AP is stalled in your PC. 10

11 11 Start / Remove Application 1. Start Application: After installing AP successfully, go to Windows OS [Start] > [Program] > [USB Capture BOX]>[Capture BOX] to open AP (please refer to Photo 5).

13 13 Minimize Windows icon Minimize PV321 Window into the Toolbar. Snapshot icon Click left button of mouse at icon or use snapshot button on USB Capture box to capture single picture (file format: Bitmap). You can click (Save) to save the picture or click (Delete) to delete the picture or click (Wallpaper) to save the picture as wallpaper.

14 14 Record icon When clicking icon PV321C starts to record and appears below captured dialogue (Photo 8) to show its captured frames and time. When click leaf button of mouse on the window, it will stop recording and show the below message.

15 15 AV in / S-Video in Switch icon Click left button of mouse at icon, it can switch the video source to either AV in or S-Video in and play the programs from AV in or S-Video in Video Standard icon Click left button of mouse at icon, it shows up a Video Setting dialogue as Photo 9. You can select the appropriate video standard from [Video Format] bar (Photo 10). The main systems include NTSC, PAL, SECAM. You can select the video source from [Video Input] bar (Photo 11). If you select Composite, the video source is only from AV-in. If you select S-Video, the video source is only from S-Video. After clicking (OK) button, you can see the video setting on window. If you want to delete the setting, only need to click (Cancel) button.

17 17 Adjustment icon Click left button of mouse at icon, it shows up a adjustment setting dialogue (see Photo 12). When you click FUNCTION icon, it appears BRIGHTNESS, or CONTRAST, or HUE, or SATURATION setting. You can adjust each setting and see the adjusted video quality on Window. If you are not satisfied with the setting, you can simply click Default icon back to the default setting. Brightness setting: Default at 128 Contrast setting: Default at 6 Hue setting: Default at 128 Saturation setting: Default at 4.

18 18 About icon When Click (About) icon, it appears the Version number of USB Capture Box as Photo 13.

19 19 On-Line Help icon Clikc left button of mouse at icon, it will auto turn on the browser and open On Line Help page as Photo 14.

20 20 Exit icon Click (Exit) button to close PV321C AP Function List icon Click (Function List) icon, it appears a pop-up-menu that indicates all function list (see Photo 15).

21 21 Function List Introduction You can click right button of mouse on Window or click left button of mouse at icon to show function List (see Photo 15, 16, 17). Most of the functions on list are the same as icons on Window. The followings are the brief introduction for each function.

22 22 [Snap Shot]: Still capture. Same function as icon [Capture Movie]: Record. Same function as icon [Capture Option]: It covers below functions (see Photo 18).

23 23 [Capture Option ] [File Name]: When you click to capture movie, the file will be automatically saved in C:\Capture.avi. If you like to save files in other disk or path, you have to use [File Name] to set up the files name before executing capture movie function. [Capture Option] [Video Format]: It shows as Photo 19. Color Space/Compression: It allows you to decide which file format you would like to save in your PC. Output Size: You can set up the size of file when playback.

24 24 [Capture Option] [Audio Format]: You can set up audio format and attributes (Photo 20).

25 [Capture Option ] [Capture Rate]: You can set up the frame rate per second (see Photo 21). [Capture Option ] [Capture Audio]: You can set up if the video is captured together with the audio or not.

If you click [Overlay Option] again, overlay mode will be disable and the video mode switches to Preview mode which has worse video quality. After clicking again, it switches back to overlay mode.

26 26 [Adjust Video]: Video Adjustment. Same function as icon [Video Standard]: Same function as icon [Freeze Video]: When clicking this function, the video will stop. [Always on Top]: When clicking this function, the TV window is always on top and isn t covered by other windows or pictures. [Change Skin]: It has two options, Default Window and General Window (see Photo 22). [Change Skin] [Default Window]: If select Default Window, it appears the default window and can not change the size of window.

27 27 [Change Skin] [General Window]: If select General Window, it appears regular Window as Photo 23. You can change the size of window by mouse.

29 29 Q & A Why can t my PV-321C Capture Box be installed? Answer: STEP1:Before plugging PV-321C Capture Box in PC, please make sure you have installed PV321C driver (Go to Windows OS) [Start]>[Run]>[Open] Click [Browse] button to CD menu. Select Install Menu X:\PV-321C\Driver\Win 98 or 2000 (X: means CD-ROM). Install Setup.exe STEP2:Restart your PC. And then plug PV-321C Capture Box in USB connector. The system can detect PV-321C Capture Box.
