2 INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing the USB TO IRDA solution, it is compliant with the USB 1.1 specification. The USB TO IRDA supports FIR (4Mbps) and SIR (115200bps) baud rate to the infrared devices, ex: mobile phone, PDA, notebook... SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS USB 1.1 host controller. Windows 98/Me/2000/XP operating system. PACKAGE CONTENTS USB TO IRDA adapter x 1 USB A to B type CABLE x 1 User Manual x 1 CD x 1 NOTE Please install the driver before plugged-in the USB TO IRDA adapter to host controller of PC

3 I. Install the driver of USB TO IRDA adapter Under Windows 98se/Me Step1. Double click the IRXpressUSBIrDA.exe from the driver CD to install the driver and application software. Step2. Click Next to continue

4 Step3. Click Next to continue. Step4. Click Next to continue

5 Step5. Click Next to continue. Step6. Select the KC Technology, Inc.. Select the IRXpress USB IrDA Adapter Windows 98 or Windows Me in accordance with your OS. Click OK to continue

6 Step7. Please put your Windows 98se source CD to the CD-ROM. Click OK to continue. Step8. Select bps baud rate. Click Next to continue

7 Step9. It will create the infrared serial port and printer port to your OS. You can access the infrared devices by infrared applications. Click Next to continue. Step10. Click Finish to complete the driver installation

8 Step11. Select Yes and Click Finish to restart your computer to make the installation take effect. Step12. When your OS is Windows 98se, you need to Move the cursor to the IRDA icon of the desktop and click the mouse right button to select Open

9 Step13. Select Options item. Click Enable infrared communication check option to enable. Click OK to complete the IRDA function under Windows98se. Step14. The IRDA communication has enabled and worked correctly

10 Under Windows 2000/XP Step1. Double click the IRXpressUSBIrDA.exe from the driver CD to install the driver and application software. Step2. Click Next to continue

11 Step3. Click Next to continue. Step4. Select Yes and Click Finish to restart your computer to make the installation take effect

12 II. Plug-in the USB TO IRDA adapter to the host controller of PC Step1. Make sure to complete the driver installation of the computer. Step2. Plug-in the USB A type side of the USB A to B type cable to the host controller of the PC and plug-in the USB B type side of the USB A to B type cable to the USB TO IRDA adapter

13 III. Make sure the USB TO IRDA adapter installed successfully Under Windows 98se Please move the cursor to My computer Control Panel System Properties Device Manager. It will create Infrared devices, IRXpress USB IrDA Adapter - Windows 98, Virtual Infrared COM port, and Virtual Infrared LPT port

14 Under Windows Me Please move the cursor to My computer Control Panel System Properties Device Manager. It will create Infrared devices, IRXpress USB IrDA Adapter - Windows Me, Virtual Infrared COM port, and Virtual Infrared LPT port

15 Under Windows 2000 Please move the cursor to My computer Control Panel System Properties Device Manager. Double click Infrared devices, it will show IRXpress USB Infrared Device

16 Under Windows XP Step1. Plug-in the USB TO IRDA adapter to the host controller of PC. Windows XP will find the new hardware device IRXpress USB Infrared Device. Step2. Select Install the software automatically item and click Next to continue

17 Step4. Click Finish to complete the driver installation

18 Step5. Please move the cursor to My computer Control Panel System Properties Hardware Device Manager. Double click Infrared devices, it will show the IRXpress USB Infrared Device

19 IV. Uninstall the driver of USB TO IRDA adapter Step1. Move the cursor to My computer Control Panel Add/Remove Programs and click IRXpress USB IrDA item to uninstall the driver. Step2. Click Yes to continue. Step3. Click Yes To All button to continue

20 Step4. Click Yes to continue. Step5. Click OK to complete the un-installation
