2 License Agreement By installing this software you agree to the following provisions. If you do not agree with these provisions, return the software and all materials included with the software within thirty (30) days. This is a license agreement and not an agreement for sale, Alliance Laundry Systems LLC (hereinafter Alliance Laundry Systems ) hereby licenses this software to you under the following terms and conditions. This agreement supersedes all prior agreements, proposals, and representations between you and Alliance Laundry Systems regarding all Alliance Laundry Systems Software products. Customer agrees that aspects of the licensed materials, including the specific design and structure of individual programs, constitute trade secrets and/or copyrighted material of Alliance Laundry Systems. Customer agrees not to disclose, provide, or otherwise make available such trade secrets or copyrighted material in any form to any third party without the prior written consent of Alliance Laundry Systems. Customer agrees to implement reasonable security measures to protect such trade secreets and copyrighted material. Title to Software and documentation shall remain solely with Alliance Laundry Systems. STANDARD USE LICENSE YOU MAY: Use this software on any compatible computer, provided the computer is owned by you the licensee. This includes computers located in branch offices that support and manage laundry equipment. YOU SHALL NOT: Use, copy, or transfer copies of this software except as provided in the License Agreement. Alter, merge, modify or adapt this software in any way, including disassembling or decompiling or reverse engineering. Loan, rent, lease, or sublicense this software or any copy. This license is effective until terminated. It may be terminated by you by destroying the software media and all copies. It will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this License Agreement, and on any such termination you will destroy the software media and any back-up copies. Alliance Laundry Systems retains all rights not expressly granted. Nothing in this License Agreement constitutes a waiver of Alliance Laundry Systems' rights under the U.S. Copyright laws or any other federal or state law. LIMITED WARRANTY Alliance Laundry Systems warrants that the software will substantially conform to published specifications and to the documentation, provided that it is used on the computer hardware and with the operating system for which it was designed. Alliance Laundry Systems also warrants that the documentation are free from defects in materials and workmanship. Alliance Laundry Systems will replace defective media or documentation or correct substantial software errors at no charge, provided you return the item to Alliance Laundry Systems within 90 days of the date of delivery. If Alliance Laundry Systems is unable to replace defective media or documentation or correct substantial software errors, Alliance Laundry Systems will refund the license fee. These are your sole remedies to any breach of warranty. Except as specifically provided above, Alliance Laundry Systems makes no warranty or representation, either expressed or implied, with respect to this software or documentation, including their quality, performance, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Because software is inherently complex and may not be completely free of errors, you are advised to verify your work. In no event will Alliance Laundry Systems be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the software or documentation license. The warranty and remedies set forth above are exclusive and in lieu of all others, oral or written, express or implied. No Alliance Laundry Systems dealer, distributor, agent or employee is authorized to make any modification or addition to this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. 7 System Requirements System Requirements (PC) The UniLinc PC Application has the following minimum recommended PC requirements: Keyboard and mouse Microsoft Windows 7 1 GHz processor 1 Gb RAM XGA (1024x768) CD or DVD Drive System requirements (PDA) The UniLinc PDA software requires 5 MB of available storage space, depending on the processor and components installed on the PDA. Operating systems that support the UniLinc PDA software include the following: Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 or greater Infrared communication window (IrDA) or standard SD expansion slot R11 Copyright, Alliance Laundry Systems LLC DO NOT COPY or TRANSMIT 7

8 UniLinc PC Application Installation NOTE: It is recommended that you disable User Access Control (UAC) before installing the software. Disabling User Access Control (UAC) 1. Open the control panel. 2. Click the User Accounts and Family Safety heading. 3. Click the User Accounts heading. 4. Click Change User Account Control settings. 5. Use the sliding bar tool to drag the icon to Never notify and click OK. 6. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes. 7. You will be prompted to restart your computer to apply the change. Do so when you are ready. Installation 1. Load the UniLinc software CD-ROM into your PC s CD/DVD drive. 2. You may be prompted to install additional components onto your PC before the UniLinc PC Application can be installed (e.g., Crystal Reports for.net Framework 4.0,.Net Framework 4.0). 9 UniLinc PC Application Installation (continued) 3. After the additional components are installed, the UniLinc installer will start automatically. The Welcome to the UniLinc PC Application Setup Wizard window will appear. To begin the UniLinc PC Application setup, click the Next button. PHM1099R 4. The License Agreement window will appear. 10 UniLinc PC Application Installation (continued) 5. The Select Installation Folder window will appear. a. Under the Folder: heading, review the installation location. If you would like to change the installation location, click the Browse... button and select a new location. b. Under the Install UniLinc PC Application for yourself, or for anyone who uses this computer: heading, click one of the following buttons: i. Just Me: Click to have the UniLinc PC Application available to only the installer. ii. Everyone: Click to have the UniLinc PC Application available to anyone that uses the PC. c. Click the Next button. The software is installed. PHM1101R 6. The Confirm Installation screen appears. Click the Next button to begin the UniLinc PC Application installation. 11 UniLinc PC Application Installation (continued) 7. The Installation Complete window appears. Click the Close button. The UniLinc PC Application has been installed. 8. Double-click the application s shortcut on your PC s desktop or, under your PC s Start menu, click All Programs. Locate and click the software. NOTE: The first time the application is opened, you will be prompted to install the database server. Follow the on-screen instructions. SQL Server 2012 Installation PHM1103R 1. From the SQL Server Installation Center, click the New SQL Server stand-alone installation. The Install Setup Files page appears. From the Installation Type page, make sure the Perform a new installation of SQL Server 2012 radio button is selected and then click the Next button. The License Terms page appears. From the Feature Selection page, make sure the Database Engine Services and SQL Server Replication checkboxes are checked and then click the Next button.the Instance Configuration page appears. PHM1585R When the software installation is complete, the Complete page appears. PHM1586R Software Update Notifications The software can be set to notify you when software updates available. 1. Before the installation begins, the application will ask for a database backup. It is recommended to do a backup before updating the software. 20 UniLinc PC Application Installation (continued) Downloading Software Instructions NOTE: To download the software instructions, the Advanced Update Manager must be enabled on the Updates tab under Tools > Options. 1. Under the Help menu, click Check for update... The Update Manager window appears. 2. In the Update Manager window, click the Software Documents button. The list of available software instructions appears. Figure 8 3. Click the checkbox next to the desired software instructions. 4. Click the Download button. NOTE: The software will ask where the download should be saved. When the download is complete, the application will open the directory containing the file. 21 PDA Application Installation Using Sync Center NOTE: Before installing the Software onto a PDA, make sure that a new sync partnership is set up in Sync Center. 1. Turn on PDA and plug into PC. 2. Open the control panel and click Sync Center. 3. On the left menu, select Set Up new sync partnerships. 4. Select the name of PDA in list of available sync partnerships. 5. Double-click on your device. 6. Select Connect without setting up your device or Set up your device. NOTE: Once setup is complete, your device will automatically sync every time it is connected. 7. Select Sync. Installing the PDA Application 1. Open the UniLinc PC Application by double-clicking the icon on your PC s desktop or by selecting the program from your PC s Start menu. 2. 22 PDA Application Installation (continued) 3. You will be prompted to install.net Compact Framework onto your PDA before the UniLinc PDA Application can be installed onto your PDA. If you do not have.net Compact Framework 2.0 installed, click the Install button. If you have.net Compact Framework 2.0 installed, click the Skip button. NOTE: If installing on Windows Mobile 2003, click the Windows Mobile 2003 checkbox before clicking the Install button. PHM1288R 4. You will be prompted to check your PDA for additional information. 5. Once the.net Compact Framework has been installed, you will be required to restart your PDA. Press OK. You will be prompted to install SQL Server CE onto your PDA before the UniLinc PDA Application can be installed onto your PDA. If you do not have SQL Server CE installed, click the Install button. 24 PDA Application Installation (continued) 8. You will be prompted to check your PDA for additional information. 9. After SQL Server CE has been installed, your PDA will display a message. 27 UniLinc PC Application Opening the UniLinc PC Application Under your PC s start menu, click All Programs. Under the UniLinc menu, click UniLinc. My UniLinc Understanding the My UniLinc Structure 1. The first time the application is open, the default My UniLinc structure is shown (i.e., My Market, My Branch and My Location). Definition: Market: Used to group facilities in the same industry (e.g., Hotels). Branch: This is the sub-category (e.g., Quiet Stay Hotels). 28 Adding a Market, Branch or Location 1. To add a Market, Branch or Location to the My UniLinc structure, in the My UniLinc structure, select the level above which you would like to add an item and click the New... button. Example: To add another Location to the My UniLinc structure, a. In the My UniLinc structure, click My Branch (i.e., the level above My Location). b. Click the New Location... button. PHM1296R 2. Example (Location): When adding a new Location, this window can be used to change the Location s Branch and to add information about the Location (e.g., the Location s name, address, contact information and notes). Example (Branch): If adding a new Branch, in the New branch window, the only information that can be added is the Branch s name and Market assignment. PHM1298R Example (Market): If adding a new Market, in the New market window, the only information that can be added is the Market s name. 4. The new element is added to the My UniLinc structure. 30 UniLinc PC Application (continued) Editing a Market, Branch or Location 1. To edit a Market, Branch or Location, in the My UniLinc structure, select the level above which you would like to edit. Example (Location): For Locations, the Branch assignment, name, address, contact information and notes can be edited. Example (Branch): For Branches, the Market assignment and name can be edited. To change the machine s Location assignment, click the Location: drop-down list and select a new location. To change the machine s name, type a new name into the Name: textbox. To add a note about the machine, type the note into the Notes: textbox. To activate/deactivate the machine, click the Active checkbox. 4. 131 Network Setup Getting Started NOTE: This section provides an overview of network setup. For network setup details refer to the instructions provided with the wired network kit NK220 or with the wireless network kits NK320 (Ethernet connection) or NK330 (USB connection). 1. Assign Each Machine a Unique Node Number Using the UniLinc Software, assign a unique node number to each machine. NOTE: Make sure the USB IR device is connected to the PC. a. Under the Infrared menu, click Change Machine Node Number... The Change network node number window appears. b. Enter the desired node number into the Node Number: textbox. c. Aim the USB IR device at the machine s control and click the Change button. The node number is assigned to the machine. 2. Select the Network Type a. In the tree sturcture, click My Network Controllers. Refer to Figure 9. NOTE: If My Network Controllers is not available in the tree structure, under the Tools menu, click Options. The Options window appears. In the Options window, under the Application tab, click the Show empty Network Controllers folder checkbox and then click the OK button. NOTE: If the network controller has been configured to use a port other than 10001, enter the port number into the Port textbox. iv. In the Protocol drop-down list, make sure TCP is selected. v. Click the Load Data button. After the load has been completed, the window will expand to show additional details. For wireless networks with an Ethernet connection (kit NK320) i. 134 Network Setup Getting Started (Continued) 3. Scan the Network for Machines Under the Tools menu, click Scan for Machines. NOTE: The scan speed can be adjusted. From the expanded network controller window, under the Settings tab, change the number listed in the Node scan end: textbox to show the number of machines in the network. For example, if there are 10 machines in the network, change the number to 10. PHM1562R Figure Move and rename the Machines When the scan is complete, the machines in the network will be assigned to an unknown location. NOTE: By default, the machines are named with the machine s serial number and node number. NOTE: If the machines in the network are not listed in the unknown location, check the network kits and controls on the missing machines to make sure they are working properly. Figure 15 a. Assign the machines to the desired location. i. If necessary, create a location for the machines. Refer to the Adding a Market, Branch or Location section for details. ii. In the tree structure, click Unknown Location. The list of machines in the network is displayed. iii. iv. PHM1515R Click and drag to highlight all of the machines in the unknown location. Click the machines and drag them into the desired location listed in the tree structure. The machines in the network are moved to the selected location. 135 Network Setup Getting Started (Continued) b. By default, the machines are named using machine serial numbers. To re-name the machines... i. Right-click the desired machine. A pop-up menu appears. Figure 16 ii. From the pop-up menu, click Rename. iii. Enter the desired name for the machine. 5. Start the Network Monitor a. From the PC s Start Menu (all programs), under UniLinc, click UniLinc Network Monitor. b. From the PC s system tray, double-click the UniLinc Network Monitor icon. A pop-up window appears. If the Start button is green, select the network controller that has just been added and click the Start button to start processing for the network controller. Refer to Figure 18. 137 Network Setup Getting Started (continued) 6. Configure the Location Layout a. From the PC s Start Menu (all programs), under UniLinc, click Location Layout. The Location Layout window opens. Refer to Figure 19. Figure 19 b. In the Location Layout window, from the drop-down menu, select the desired location. c. From the list of machines on the left section of the window, click and drag the desired machine names to the window s main section. Icons will appear for each machine that was selected. d. Position the machine icons in the main section as needed to reflect the location s actual layout. i. To reposition the machine icons, click and drag them. ii. To rotate the machine icons, click and drag the circles above them. iii. To zoom in or out, click the magnifying glass icons. e. To save the location layout, click the Save button. 7. To add text to the layout, click the Insert Text... button. The Insert Text window appears. In the Insert Text window enter the text and change the text format, if necessary. Then, click the Insert button. The text is added to the layout. 8. To add an image to the layout, click the Insert Image... button. The Open window appears. The machines colors represent the machines statuses. Red: The machine is not running a cycle. Green: The machine is running a cycle. Yellow: The machine has completed a cycle, but the laundry has not been removed from it. Orange: The machine is running a cycle with less than 4 minutes remaining in the cycle, or, for machine in a moisture dry cycle, the machine is in cooldown. In the Sender s Address textbox, enter the address used in the server settings. 5. Under the Timing Options heading, if necessary, adjust the dates and times during which the s will be sent. 6. Under the Notifications heading, click the checkboxes next to the notifications to be sent. 7. Click the Add Notification button. 8. Restart the network monitor. Then, click the Add to List button. The phone number is added to the list of recipients. Repeat this for all text message recipients. 4. In the Sender s Address textbox, enter the address used in the server settings. 5. Under the Timing Options heading, if necessary, adjust the dates and times during which the text messages will be sent. 6. Under the Notifications heading, click the checkboxes next to the text message notifications to be sent. 7. Click the Add Notification button. 8. In the CC: and/or BCC: textboxes, if necessary, enter the addresses that will receive a carbon copy or blind copy of the In the Limit to section, select the machines to include in the report. To have all machines included in the report, click the My Machines radio button. To include machines from a specific branch, click the Branch: radio button and then select the desired branch from the drop-down list.
