1 National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) is part of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) led by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Review of the implementation of the NFCS is a coordinating mechanism that enables the development and delivery of climate services at national level. Established NFCS is key to improved risk management, through development Norway and incorporation of science-based climate information and prediction into decision- and PAC-9 policy-making. 8 3.1 Status of implementation of NFCS Economic Commission of West Africa (ECOWAS) is partnering with GFCS to support its member states in establishing NFCS GFCS is partnering with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to support NFCS in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia (regional workshop at the end of the year) NFCS will be promoted through the GFCS Intra African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) EC funded programme (85M euros) Key actors such as the World Bank are integrating NFCS into their hydromet investment activities
