1 1 TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Late Breaking News This document details changes to replacing the data in the BPM visualizations for the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM product release that was identified after the product was released. Check the TIBCO Product Support web site at for product information that was not available at release time. Entry to this site requires a username and password. If you do not have a username, you can request one. You must have a valid maintenance or support contract to use this site.

2 2 TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Late Breaking News Replacing the Data in the BPM Visualizations You can replace the data in the BPM visualizations with new data from the BPM database. This enables you to update the visualizations with current data. You can only update one table at a time so you need to repeat these steps each time you want to update a table with new data. The new data must be structured in the same way as the tables in the existing visualization. The following procedure describes how to replace data in the BPM visualizations: 1. Open the tibcoamxbpmembedded.zip file. 2. Click File > Replace Data Table... The Replace Data Table - Select Data Table dialog is displayed. Select either: Work Item Data Process Instance Data Process Metrics depending on the data table you want to update. From the Replace with: section, select New data table and click OK. 3. The Replace Data - Select Source dialog is displayed. Select Database and click Browse. 4. The Open Data Source dialog is displayed.if you are using: Oracle, select OracleClient Data Provider SQL Server, select SQLClient Data Provider If you are using SQL Server, you may want to consider configuring an ODBC data source to connect to your BPM database. The advantage of using an ODBC Data Provider rather a SQLClient Data Provider is that you do not have to copy the SQL statements described below. Click Configure.

3 Replacing the Data in the BPM Visualizations 3 5. The Configure Data Source Connection dialog is displayed. For Oracle: In the Oracle Server Name box, type the Oracle Server Name. (This is the Oracle SID). In the Username and Password boxes, enter the username and password of the account you want to use to connect to the BPM database For SQL Server In the SQL Server Name box, type the SQL Server Name. (This is the machine name of IP address of the machine hosting the SQL Server Database). Click Use SQL Server Authentication. In the Username and Password boxes, enter the username and password of the account you want to use to connect to the BPM database. Click Select or enter database name and enter BPM 6. Click OK. The Open Data Source dialog is displayed again. 7. Click OK. The Specify Tables and Columns dialog is displayed. If you are using: SQL Server, expand amxbpm Oracle, expand the database username (by default, BPMUSER) Select: the ec_pe_status table if you are replacing the data in one of the visualizations on the Completed or Active Processes tabs (the Process Instances Data table). the ec_wi_status table if you are replacing the data in one of the visualizations on the Completed or Active Work tabs (the Work Items Data table). the ec_stats table if you are replacing the data in one of the visualizations on the Work Item Metrics or Process Metrics tabs (the Process Metrics Data table). Click OK and then OK again to close the Replace Data Table - Select Source dialog. The BPM visualizations are updated with the new data. Open the visualizations to check that the data has been updated. 9. You can only update one table at a time so you need to repeat these steps each time you want to update a table with new data.

7 Replacing the Data in the BPM Visualizations Click File > Save As to save your updated table to a new.dxp file. You could save the new.dxp file to a shared location so that all teams can have access to the new updated template. 11. The Save dialog is displayed. Click Override these settings and embed all data. Click OK to close the dialog. 12. The Save Document As dialog is displayed. Browse to the location where you want to save your new.dxp file. In the File name: box, type in the name of your new.dxp file and click OK to close the dialog.
