1. Operating Panel Depending on the machine type various symbols are not in operation!
1. Operating Panel Main switch 1.5 Rotary switch to switch machine on or off. 5 In OFF position (0) no functions are possible. In ON position (I) the machine is ready for operation and the control panel is locked Definition of terms 1.6 PROCESS FUNCTION is a main function (operating condition) which is necessary in a drycleaning cycle with at least one program step. PROGRAM STEP Carries out a process function. It normally comprises several optional parameters. STEP NUMBER is the numbering in sequence of operation in the entire program. OPTIONAL PARAMETERS are the possible conditions of the program steps with one step corresponding to a certain combination of optional parameters, e.g. pumping tank to tank with the optional parameters from still I, to tank II and 2 minutes. PROGRAM is a useful sequence of process functions to carry out a special task.
6 2. Control Start-up 2.1 Switch on main switch! The following messages are shown consecutively on the display: Manufacturer of the Computer hardware: Berthel GmbH Manufacturer of the machine: BÖWE Textile Cleaning Software version e.g.: V0.7 Machine model e.g.: PX16 Only with hydrocarbon machines, at this time the flash point of the solvent used is displayed (e.g. flash point > 55 C, hydrocarbon solvent) Now press the C key. Number of deodorising program: e.g. P34 Picture 1 Press start key to start program P43. Now the display shows the number of the current program and the time in minutes and seconds until the program ends. Picture 2 A signal sounds at the end of the program. Press stop key. The signal stops and the loading door can be opened after the drum has stopped and the pressure is released. Now press the C key. The display shows P. Now enter the desired program number or press the C key again to reach the main menue. Picture 4 Now you may change to different operating modes. Note: If there are longer stops between the operating cycles, a small amount of solvent builds up in the cage housing. With the deodorising program this solvent is removed from the cage housing. The deodorising program is always displayed, when the main switch was switched off. In this case it has to be started, as the loading door can only be opened after its completion. Anti-creasing protection: If the stop key is not pressed when the signal sounds at the end of the cycle, the last program step (deodorising) is continuing. The refrigeration unit keeps on running, the drum is in gentle reversing mode. After a few minutes the machine is stopped, the loading door remains locked and program P43 is loaded. The opening of the door is now only possible after completion of the deodorising program. The following pictures show the above described procedure as it is indicated in the display of the machine (picture 1-3).
2. Control 2. Display Input Explanation Bild 1 7 After switching on main switch Bild 2 start Deodorising program runs Bild 3 stop C + C Stop program Computer in main menue Number of program is erased selectrable functions see window d
2. Control Program selection and start The computer is in the main menue (two dashes on the display). Press the prog key. The display shows P as request to enter the number of the desired drycleaning program. Enter desired program number. The entry appears on the display. Press start key. The selected cleaning program runs automatically. After starting the program number and the remaining cycle time are displayed. The cycle time is counted down in seconds. Example: Program 1 (1-bath) Display in main menue Entry Explanation prog Activate program selection P 1 Desired program = 1 P1 start Start Machine P1 31:55 Selected program and cycle time After a drycleaning program has been started, the current processing step (e.g. pumping) is displayed with its optional parameters. It is also possible to load the program before starting. To do so press the hold key after having entered the desired program number. Then it is possible to select a definite step of the program as starting step with the cursor keys and. Now you can start the program with start or reject the program as described in Note: Selection of the drycleaning programs see operating manual of the corresponding machine model. If the display shows E755 after pressing the start key, the locking of the refrigeration unit is active. This function protects the unit. The program starts when the "C"-key is pressed and a certain preset period of time has elapsed. If a wrong program number has been entered, it can be corrected before the start. Press the C key to delete the entry and enter the desired program number.
2. Control 2. 9 Example: Change from program 2 to program 4 Display in main menue Entry Explanation prog2 Program 2 has been selected P2 C Delete entry by pressing C P 4 Enter the desired number P4 P4 has been selected and can be started by pressing start If a program has already been started, it can be changed, see section Remaining program step time During a current program the minutes and seconds of the remaining program time (window 1) and the remaining program step time (window 3) are permanently displayed Program end and restart An acoustic signal (horn) sounds at the end of the drycleaning program, the remaining program time has run down to zero. Press the stop key, the signal stops and the loading door can be opened. If the machine is still under pressure, a note is displayed. Delete this note by entering C and wait until the loading door is unlocked. The number of the last program is still shown on the display. If the same program shall be run again, simply press start after loading the cage and closing the loading door. (Attention: changes, e.g. drying time extensions with 6E, have to be entered again). For any other program or operating mode press the C key. The computer returns to home position by pressing the C key twice and new entries can be made Interventions in the currently running resp. loaded program Interrupting the program Pressing stop interrupts the drycleaning process and stops the machine. The drycleaning process is continued by pressing start Skip parts of a progam If a program has been interrupted (see 2.3.1), it is possible to skip or repeat program steps by means of the keys and, even to the program end (= rejection) or start. Every time you press these keys one program step is skipped. The drying and reduction step cannot be skipped on KWL-machines. The display is continuously updated. The programming field shows the process function, which would be active, if the program was to continue. The display shows the remaining cycle time. Thus it is always possible to determine the actual program position of the control..
2. Control Rejecting a program 10 When a program is interrupted (see 2.3.1) press the prog key. Now end the program by pressing the hold key. The program is rejected. Window 6 shows how to proceed further. If another key is pressed, the program remains interrupted without any change. Important: If a program is rejected, make sure that the cage is free of solvent. There are two ways to do this: a) When skipping program steps, stop at the step to which the process function pumping out of solvent is allocated. Continue drycleaning process with start until the solvent has been pumped out. Continue program with extraction, drying and deodorising until the signal sounds. Continue as described in b) In manual operation enter and start process functions pumping out of cage and drying with deodorising. Note: After a drycleaning program has been started the computer control locks the loading door. It will remain locked until the garments have been dried and deodorised, the cage has stopped and the machine is pressureless Changing the program step times of a current function Activate the black input field by use of any number (e.g. 1) while the program is running and thereupon enter "50E". In window 3 the remaining time of the program cycle is displayed by minutes and seconds. This time can now be modified. The black field shows the time that can be overwritten. Enter the desired time in minutes and press the key "E". Thereafter enter the desired time in seconds and press the button "E". The modification is now completed. The display (window 1) shows the changed remaining cycle time. The program step time can be changed several times within one program step. In case the minutes were entered incorrectly, you can get back with the button After the cycle is finished these changes are erased.
11 2. Control Final drying time extension By pressing F1 and following 6E, by entering numbers in minutes and by confirming with E the drying time can be extended by max. 7 minutes. Changes in the last program get lost when restarting the program and have to be done again. An entered extension time for the drying step is added after having unlock the dryingcontroller. The entered drying time extension can be deleted by entering F1 and <6E> and overwriting with This takes place, if E is pressed after overwriting Modification of Extraction speed During an extraction step the current extraction speed is displayed. Speed can be reduced in increments of 50 rpm with the -key in case the machine shakes considerably e.g. due to an imbalance. In the next cycle the initial speed is set again.
12 3. Programming General information 3.1 A drycleaning program comprises individual program steps. Each step has a certain process function which has to be determined by optional parameters. Note: To copy an existing program and to change it afterwards is possibly quicker than the input of a new program and reduces the fault possibility (see 3.6). Program input (example see next page) Information regarding programing: Process functions have to be entered in correct sequence. When arranging the process functions it has to be observed that this is done properly, e.g. at the end of a bath first pumping out of solvent, then extraction, drying, etc. By pressing the function key F2 you reach the programming mode (picture 1 on the display). The display (window 3) shows the black input field, enter code number with the numerical keys (e.g. 8888E ). The computer changes to the process function display (picture 2, next page).
