1 3 (interface) Battery compartment Keyboard Battery compartment s lid GENERAL TIPS The lock can be opened by using a code consisting of 7 digits or 7 letters. Each time you push a key on the keyboard, an acoustic signal is heard and the LED blinks once to confirm this action. When the correct code has been input, a short tone is heard, otherwise a long one. If a pause of more than 30 seconds occurs between consecutive elements of the code (digits or letters) being input on the keyboard, the whole action has to be repeated. Opening a. Push (*) b. Push ( ) = factory code or push ( ) = factory programmed user 09 c. Push (*) After the correct code has been input the lock will be opened, which is signalled by a green LED and a short tone. The door handle can be turned only after the opening readiness has been signalled! In case a wrong code has been input, the C-button has to be pushed and the whole code has to be input again. - Turn the door handle clockwise as far as it will go. - Pull the door handle. Closing Close the door and turn the door handle in an anti-clockwise direction as far as it will go. Then push the C-button. When the lock is bolted the green LED blinks and at the end it is confirmed by one short tone. Do not touch the door handle again after the C-button has been pushed! If the door handle is not turned as far as it will go, then three long tones are heard and both red and green LEDs blink 5 seconds after opening or closing the door. It means the lock has not been put in the correct starting position. In such a case you should turn the door handle anti-clockwise again and input the code once more. door-handle OPEN position door-knob OPEN position door-handle CLOSED position door-knob CLOSED position Beaumont B.V. 2 Reprogramming the (with opened door and lock) The consists of the user s number (the first digit is 0 ) and the six-digit-code. 1. Press (*) and hold it until you hear 3 short tones 2. Input the user s number and the valid code, e.g. ( ) (default code) 3. Push the 0-button to change the code 4. Input a new six-digit-code (it is recommended to write down the new code before inputting it, to avoid mistakes) 5. Push (*) a short tone is heard to confirm that the right code has been input 6. Input the new six-digit-code again. 7. Push (*) a short tone is heard and the green LED blinks to confirm that the right code has been input. A long tone is heard and the red LED blinks to signal that a wrong code has been input in such a case the old code is still in force. To input a new code, repeat steps 1 through 7. When the door is open, you should check a few times if the lock accepts the new code (i.e. if the bolt closes, if the lock closes on the C- command, if there are any problems with opening the lock). Close the door only after you are sure the new code is fixed! Note: The lock guarantees security only in case the user has input her/his own code and does not make it available to the outsiders. The lock is factory-set to the default super-code of with programmed user no.09 with the user s code of , which should be changed, too! (see program 0 and program 5). Manipulation interlocking After a wrong code was input four times in a row, three long tones are heard and the red LED blinks. The lock is then interlocked for five minutes, during which the red LED blinks at 8-second intervals. If still a wrong code is input after the interlocking is released, the lock is going to be interlocked for another five minutes. The lock will be activated only after a correct code is input. Power supply / Changing batteries The lock is powered by two 1,5V-batteries of AA-type (Attention! Only alkaline or lithium batteries shall be used). The battery compartment can be seen when the door is opened, depending on the type of the safe it is located in the door s housing or directly in the middle part of the door. If a long tone is heard before the short confirming one while opening the lock, it means the batteries need to be replaced. The batteries should be replaced immediately, otherwise there is no guarantee that the lock opens after it has been activated another ten times. Emergency power supply In case it is not possible to open the lock because of power interruption of the outside power source or when batteries are dead, there is a possibility to charge the lock with a 9V-battery. To do this, one shall apply this battery to the gold-coloured contacts (+ and -) on the keyboard and act as described in the chapter Opening. Restarting the lock If it is impossible to use the lock, even though batteries are not dead, you can restart the lock by holding down the I-button on the keyboard for five seconds. Activating the lock in such a way results neither in deleting nor in changing its software! Stand-by mode After inputting the code or programming the lock by the main user the lock stays active. When the keyboard is not used again within 20 seconds, the lock automatically changes over to the stand-by mode (to save energy) and abandons its commenced but not completed task. On the following pages you can find a description of all functions of the safe lock accompanied by many examples. The list of programs for the DSF SB lock. Beaumont B.V. Page 2 of 8

5 opening or closing with 13 tones, too low voltage with 14 tones (each one accompanied by a green LED s blink). The red LED s long blink separates the displaying of individual users. When the four-eye rule is active, the red LED s blink and a double tone separate connected users, these users are displayed in the real order of entering codes (the first user who entered the code is displayed in the first place). A new lock may display fewer than 32 users, because it has not been opened so many times yet. When the opening delay or the four-eye rule are active, the user is displayed who opened the lock with his code as the last one. Program 5: Changing the supercode (with opened door and lock) The Manager can change the supercode. Default settings ( ) have to be replaced with individual settings! The following actions have to be carried out when the lock is open: Push the button (5) - initiates the process of entering the supercode Supercode (7 digits) - input a new supercode Repeat the supercode (7 digits) - Repeat a new supercode Example: * * * Activating the new supercode entering the new supercode once again (7 digits) initiates the process of repeat entering of the new supercode new supercode (7 digits) initiates the process of entering the supercode Program 6: Activating/Deactivating code connections (the four-eye rule) The Manager can activate code connections. Opening the lock is then possible only after two predefined subcodes have been entered. The following actions have to be carried out when the lock is open: Push the button (6) - initiates the configuration process Push the button (1) or (0) - (1) activates, (0) blocks code connections Example: * * Activating code connections activates code connections initiates the configuration process the The example of opening the lock with active code connections Enter the 1 st subcode, e.g.: * * green LED blinks once, signaling that the first subcode was correctly entered ends the process of entering the first subcode the code of the first user Enter the 2 nd subcode, e.g.: * * ends the process of entering the second subcode the code of the second user After both codes have been correctly entered, the lock opens. Program 7: Activating/Deactivating the opening delay The Manager can program a delay in the lock s opening from 1 minute up to 255 minutes. The following actions have to be carried out when the lock is open: Push the button (7) - initiates the process of programming a delay in the opening of the lock Enter delay time in minutes ( ) - lock opening delay time in minutes (000 = no delay) Enter delay time in minutes once more ( ) - enter opening delay time once again Beaumont B.V. Page 5 of 8
6 Example: * * Activating a 10-minute-opening-delay confirmation of the opening delay time opening delay time (between 000 and 255 minutes) initiates the process of activating the opening delay function the In case the opening delay function is active, the lock can be opened only after the code has been input and the entered delay time is elapsed. The interlocking time is counted from the moment of entering the on or, in case code connections are active, from the moment of entering the second subcode on. It will be confirmed by a long tone and the green LED. When the delayed opening function is active, the red LED blinks at 5-second intervals. The short double tone (beep) signals the elapsing delay time of opening the lock. After that a factory-set opening window of 5 minutes time starts (see Program 8). When the opening window is active, the red LED blinks at 10-second intervals, accompanied by a beep. During that time the or a subcode shall be entered again to open the lock. If no code is entered during the active window time, the lock will be bolted (interlocked). To open the lock, one shall repeat all actions since the moment of entering the opening delay value. Program 8: Programming opening windows In case the opening delay function is active, the lock has a defined opening window. Opening window means the time period in which a user has a possibility to open the lock after the delay time is elapsed. The opening window is factory-set to 5 minutes time. It can be changed (reprogrammed) to the value between 1 and 255 minutes. The following actions have to be carried out: Push the button (8) - initiates the process of programming the opening window Enter time in minutes ( ) - value of the opening window in minutes Enter time in minutes once more ( ) - confirmation of the opening window s time Example: * * Programming a 5-minute opening window confirmation of the opening window s time period opening window s time is set between 001 and 255 minutes initiates the process of programming the opening window the Program 9: Activating/Deactivating the automatic interlocking The Manager can activate or deactivate the function of automatic interlocking or activate/deactivate bolt sensors. After activating a bolt sensor it will be possible to close the lock only after the bolt is closed, too. After activating the automatic interlocking function the lock interlocks automatically if the safe door is not opened within 60 seconds after opening the lock. This 60-second opening window will be signaled by a beep at 8-second intervals and a visual signal. If the safe door is opened within this 60-second opening window, the lock will not be interlocked automatically. If the safe has not been closed mechanically again, a warning tone (beep) is heard at 8-second intervals. The lock interlocks automatically after closing the safe (applies only to the option with a bolt sensor!). The following actions have to be carried out when the lock is open: Push the button (9) - initiates the process of programming the automatic interlocking function with opened door message Push the button (0 3) - activates or deactivates the function Example: * * Activation of the automatic interlocking with opened door message activates the automatic interlocking function initiates the process of programming automatic interlocking with opened-door-message the Function (0): bolt sensor and automatic interlocking function are OFF Function (1): bolt sensor and automatic interlocking without opened-door-message function are active Function (3): bolt sensor and automatic interlocking with opened-door-message function are active Beaumont B.V.
