at a Glance at a glance File Format IMindQ has its own file format (.dmmx), where all information for the map is saved. Beside the default file format, imindq works with the following file formats: imindq Workspace (.dmmw) file format where a group of already saved maps are saved in one file; imindq Map Style (.dmms) file format where the styles used for visual formatting of the map are saved; imindq Map Template (.dmmt) file format where the map is saved as a template; FreeMind map (.mm) map saved in FreeMind file format; MindJet Map (.mmap, xmmap) - map saved in MindJet file format; XMind (.xmind) map saved in XMind file format Working platforms imindq supports the two biggest operating system in the IT world: Microsoft Windows and Mac. Beside Windows platform (Microsoft Windows 8/8.1, Microsoft Windows 7, and Microsoft Windows Vista), imindq supports the Mac OS (Mac OS 10.10, and MacOS 10.9) as well as the latest version of the ios. Ribbons Ribbon GUI is the standard working environment for imindq. By its definition, Ribbon is a single tab bar that contains graphical elements as representation for different functionalities. Several application s control with similar functionalities can form a Group inside the Ribbon. The imindq Ribbon GUI consists of File menu, where all features from the File menu from the Standard GUI are placed, and Ribbons containing the other viewing features. imindq has seven static ribbons and three dynamic ribbons. imindq contains seven standard ribbons: Home 8

at a Glance Insert Format View Exchange Present Plan Depending from the selected view, at the end of the standard ribbon arrangement, a new dynamic ribbon appears. This ribbon contains features that are unique for the selected view or unique to the category that the selected view belongs. Open.dmmw file format If you want to save a group of maps in one file and continue working with them later from one place, you can do so with imindq.dmmw file format. In order to save the opened group of maps as.dmmw file format, the maps need to be saved first to a file location. Open.dmms file format If you want to save your own style of creating a map, imindq allows them to save it as.dmms file format. This format saves the applied desired formatting to the map elements, such as: topics, relationships, boundaries and callouts. To use it in the application and apply it to the any map you create, the.dmms file needs to be imported. Open.dmmt file format If you want to save a map as a template and use it as a guideline for other maps, you will have to save the created map with.dmmt file extension. This file saves the map as template which can be imported in the application in the Templates library, and use Open.mmap file format imindq can open files with the extension.mmap. The.mmap file format is the default file format of the application MindManager, a mind mapping software developed by MindJet Ltd. 9

at a Glance Open.mm file format imindq can also open maps with.mm file extension. The.mm file format is the default file format of FreeMind, free mind mapping software application. Open.xmind file format imindq can open maps with.xmind file extension. The.xmind file format is the default file format of the application XMind, a mind mapping software developed by XMind Ltd. Import from Microsoft Excel You can import Microsoft Excel files.xls/.xlsx (*.xls/*.xlsx is a native format for Microsoft Excel 2003/2007/2010/2013) file format in the Excel Importer Panel in imindq, from which you can select information and choose the way in which these data will be inserted in the map. The data can be presented as Topics with Properties, in Spreadsheet and several other ways. Any formatting the cells have in the Excel file will not be imported in imindq ; the imported data will be Plain Text. Import from Microsoft Word The map created in IMindQ can be imported in a.doc/.docx file format, a native format for Microsoft Word 2003/2007/2010/2013. Each topic in the map, with certain map elements can be mapped with the appropriate text styles used in Microsoft Word, which will serve as a good organized Outline for creating a specific document Import from Microsoft PowerPoint Import each side as an image, when you import complex presentations with rich content, such as images, tables, charts and different shapes. Import from Microsoft Project You can import project plans created with Microsoft Project as.mpp file (which is a native file format for Microsoft Project 2007/2010/2013). Now you can import Microsoft Project files (.mpp files) without the need to have MS Project installed on your computer. The project plan can be viewed in both the Map View and the Gantt chart view and imindq 10

at a Glance allows you to edit or simply better visualize the project information in a mind map. The imported tasks from the project plan can be connected and organized better in a more logical way for the user, who wants a brief overview of the project, or for users who don t have Microsoft Project software but are interested in viewing the general information of the project. In the same time you can import project plans from Microsoft Project saved as XML (.xml is a file format that is both human-readable and machine-readable). The.xml file format allows you to publish project information to web pages or on corporate intranets for viewing i.e. Electronic Publishing. The project information from a.xml file can also be viewed in the Map View and in Gantt Chart view. Import an OPML file (Outline Processor Markup Language) is an XML format for outlines (often blogrolls). Originally developed by Radio User Land as a native file format for an outliner application, it has since been adopted for other uses, the most common being to exchange lists of web feeds between web feed aggregators. imindq converts the outline of the OPML file and the content that file contains, into a logically connected information in a mind map form. Import HTML Interactive Map Receive different ideas in HTML format. imindq enables to import files as interactive map from others, and let the user to view, share and modify the map. Calendar App Integration (for Mac OS) Calendar is a personal calendar application made by Apple Inc. that runs on both the OS X desktop operating system and ios mobile operating system. It offers online cloud backup of calendars using Apple's icloud service, or can synchronize with other calendar services, including Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange Server. The current version is Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 for Windows and Microsoft Office Outlook 2011 for Mac. Although often used mainly as an application, it also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking, a journal and web browsing. imindq users can easily use the Outlook Integration to plan their daily activities, appointments/meetings, start planning project tasks and/or give a logical meaning to the task list in the appropriate Outlook folder. There is an automatic and a manual synchronization between Microsoft Outlook and imindq. 12

at a Glance Export in Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft PowerPoint is the name of a proprietary commercial presentation program developed by Microsoft. imindq can be used for generating an Outline PowerPoint presentation by mapping the appropriate map elements with the adequate presentation elements of a slide. The map created in imindq can be exported in a MS PowerPoint slide by presenting the topics as objects in Microsoft PowerPoint. Export as OPML file (Outline Processor Markup Language) is an XML format for outlines (often blogrolls). Originally developed by Radio UserLand as a native file format for an outliner application, it has since been adopted for other uses, the most common being to exchange lists of web feeds between web feed aggregators. When you export a map to an OPML file, the exported file will contain an outline tree of the map, the notes for each topic as plain text and the first hyperlink added to a topic. Export as ODT file ODT (Open Document Text) is an XML-based file format for word processing documents. It is part of the Open Document Format family. It was developed with the aim of providing an open, XML-based file format specification for office applications. If you use mind mapping to outline and logically connect the information that will serve as a base for your final text document, the export to ODT file format will benefit you. You will export the supported map and topic elements from the mind map into the text document format, on which you can later on continue with your work in any text editor that supports this file format. Export as interactive HTML map When you want to present or share your ideas, visualized as a mind map, you should use the new export of the mind map as interactve HTML Map. You can share your interactive HTML map with others on blogs, websites and social medias. 15 at a Glance Organizational Chart (Organogram) that shows the structure of an organization and the relationships and relative ranks of its parts and positions. Gantt Chart View All the task information from a map or WBS is represented in the Gantt Chart View. The Gantt chart view contains two parts: a table on the left side containing each task s data and a graphical representation of the tasks on the right side. Outline View The outline view of the map contains the titles of every topic in the map on every level. Depending on which level a certain topic is, in the outline view will have a specific Indent.
