1 Thank you for the purchase of the Mi Light Wi-Fi controllable RGBW LED bulbs and the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box. This manual will guide you through the various functions associated with the Mi Light LED bulbs and the controller, ensuring you an enjoyable experience. INSTRUCTIONS Getting Started The Mi Light Wi-Fi control box will allow you to control your Mi Light RGBW LED bulbs from anywhere in the world provided you have a network connection or are connected to the Wi-Fi connection provided by this control box. Note: Mi Light applications will not work with Mi Light bulbs unless the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box is within range of the bulbs. Ensure power to the light fixture where the bulb is to be installed is in the off position. Install the Mi Light RGBW LED bulb into your light fixture. Connect the micro USB side of the included cable to the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box using the included USB cable. Provide power to the control box by connecting the other end of the cable to a computer's USB port or phone charger with a USB port. The SYS LED on the control box will flash red once power is provided. Note: The Mi Light Wi-Fi control box may need to be reset if you have difficulty establishing a link between the control box and your device. To reset the control box, insert a paperclip into the RST hole and hold for 3 seconds. Release the pin when the lights on the front of the box flash. You should not need to reset the box if you are using it for the first time. Mi Light Application Apple ios Devices: Download and install the Mi Light app for Apple ios devices (iphone, ipod, or ipad) from Apple's itunes Store, once you find it, by searching for milight and selecting iphone Apps or by following this URL: Android Devices: Download and install the Mi Light app for Android devices from the Google Play store, once you find it, by searching for milight or by following this URL:

2 Connect Your Device to the Mi Light Wi-Fi Control Box After power has been applied to the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box, and the Mi Light app has been installed on your device, go to the Wi-Fi (WLAN) settings on your smartphone or tablet. Turn on your device's Wi-Fi radio and connect to the milight network. Note: Your Mi Light Wi-Fi control box's network name might may have a unique set of numbers following milight (such as milight_2c2f4a), this is normal and uniquely identifies each controller for instances where you may have more than one in your home, business, or restaurant. The Link indicator on your Wi-Fi control box will illuminate red to indicate that a connection has been established between your device and the Wi-Fi control box. Open the Mi Light app on your Apple or Android device. Under Device List, select "milight". This takes you to the Choose Monitor screen. Though there are six control schemes to choose from, only one works with the Mi Light LED bulbs purchased at Parts Express. The control scheme that you need to select is on the bottom right on Android devices, and top center on Apple devices. It appears like the image below: This control scheme is laid out and functions the same as the optional Mi Light remote control.

3 The Mi Light app, and Mi Light app Wi-Fi control box, has the ability to control LED bulbs in up to four different zones, changing the color, brightness, or applying one of twenty different color changing modes independently within each zone, or to all connected LED bulbs at once. Linking the Mi Light RGBW LED Bulbs to the Wireless Controller Choose a zone to assign to an LED bulb. Apply power to the light fixture that the bulb is installed in and quickly press your desired zone's Zone ON button four times within three seconds. The bulb will blink three times once the bulb is synced to the zone. Unlinking the Mi Light RGBW LED Bulbs from the Wireless Controller With power applied to the appropriate lighting fixture, determine the zone to which the Mi Light bulb is synced to by pressing each Zone ON button until the bulb illuminates. Once the zone is known, remove and reapply power to the light fixture, while quickly pressing the Zone ON button four times within three seconds. Once the bulb is successfully unlinked, it will blink 10 consecutive times. Grouping of Several Mi Light Bulbs You can add an unlimited number of Mi Light RGBW LED bulbs to each of the four zones on the remote control. As seen in the examples above, you can create an endless amount of group combinations.

4 Bright White Mode: Long-press the Master ON button to change the Mi Light bulb to bright white. Multi-color Mode: Press the Color Ring to change the Mi Light bulb to the corresponding color. Brightness: Change the brightness of the Mi Light bulb by sliding your finger along the Brightness strip. Program Modes: Press the Modes button set the Mi Light bulb to a preset color changing mode, such as Red, green, blue, white fade-in, fade-out Color flash Disco mode Red fade to flash Green fade to flash Blue fade to flash Multi-color fade to random flash Multi-color fade White strobe. The speed of each mode can be controlled using the Speed or Speed + buttons. To dim all connected Mi Light bulbs at once (or to change the color) press Master ON before selecting brightness or color. To reselect and control individual zones, press the Zone ON button for the zone to be controlled.

5 Pairing the Mi Light App to Your Network Router Note: If you do not have a router or want to use the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box only, skip this step. In order to successfully connect your home Wi-Fi network router to your Apple or Android device and the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box, your network router must be connected to the internet through an ISP. While within range of your Wi-Fi network router, go to AP Configuration within the Mi Light app on your mobile device, choose your network name, and input the network password. If you are using an iphone, ipad, or ipod it will ask you, "Do you want to switch the device to STA and restart it?" Simply choose 'OK'. If you are using an Android device, it may not show you confirmation when it is connected. After connection, go back to the Device list, wait at least 60 seconds, and then relaunch the Mi Light App. In order to maintain a connection to your router, do not re-enter into the AP Configuration screen on the Mi Light app. If you need to reset your Mi Light system, depress the reset (marked as RST) button on the Wi-Fi control box. Out-of-Home Control Your Mi Light Wi-Fi control box can control your lights even when outside of network range by using the Mi Light application, the Wi-Fi control box, and your wireless network router. To achieve successful out-of-home control you need to carry out the following steps: 1. The Mi Light RGBW LED bulb, Wi-Fi control box, and Wi-Fi router must be connected to power. 2. Ensure you have connected the Mi Light Wi-Fi control box to your wireless network router and have established control through the Mi Light application on your Apple or Android device. 3. Your Apple or Android device, and Wi-Fi router, must have an internet connection established. Once these steps have been completed, you should see a globe symbol next to your device as in the image below. You are setup and ready to control your Mi Lights from outside your home or office.
