You may quickly view and select any marker in this Wire List file by using the scroll bar to scroll among previously input markers. You may also move the scroll bar using the keyboard's up/down/pageup/pagedown arrows after the scroll bar has been selected. You may use the shortcut keys to perform the following actions: duplicate a line from the previous marker, increment a numeric value at the end of a line on the previous marker, duplicate the previous marker, duplicate the previous marker reversing lines, and duplicate the previous marker reversing information on the left and right side plus more. With the special shortcut keys, marker data can be entered much more efficiently. 110 The user has a choice of comma, semicolon, space or tab as the character used as a delimiter. What it Delimits? The user has a choice of determining what the delimited field represents - a line or a label. The following is an example of a Comma-delimited ASCII file. Data is delimited by commas, where the field represents a line. LINE1,LINE2,LINE3 ABC1,Sumitomo,LABEL TEST,LINE2,TEST DATA,TEST During importing, the file is examined to find the maximum number of data lines per label, (in the example above it would be three lines). For this example, the program would expect you to choose a product that would allow at least 3 lines per label. Column for Copies Some delimited files have a column embedded in the data stream, which is used to denote the number of times each label is to be repeated or copied. This input field allows the user to choose that column, so that the data file can be recovered and reproduced accurately. Directory The highlighted directory will indicate which one you are working in. You may choose any directory displayed by double-clicking on it. If you want one Administrator and all others to have Power User access, type in a password for the Administrator password and leave the Power User and the Standard User passwords blank. A Power User can create & edit wire lists and change defaults, but can't delete Wire lists or change passwords, If you want an Administrator and a Power User, you can enter a password for these two fields and leave the Standard User blank. This will allow a user to log onto the program using the enter key and no password but they will have standard user access. Standard user access is the ability to open up wire lists and print them and to create and print Markers. A standard user can't edit or delete wire lists, change defaults or change passwords.. 141 6. Graphics Advanced Marker Setup (Graphics and Bar Codes) If you wish to use SumiMark 6.0 software to print logo's, graphics, bar codes or simply to strech your text, there are a few things you will need to know. The following is the basic information to get you started with these SumiMark 6.0 software advanced features. Turning on the Graphics feature First you will have to turn the graphics feature on. To do this go to your Tools>Default Settings. If you are not on the Products tab, click on the Products tab. Under the Miscellaneous category, make sure that the Use Graphics check box is checked. Sumitomo Page 139

Ceating a Wire List with Graphics To use graphics you will first need to create a Wire List by clicking on the Create Wire List icon, or click on the Wire List drop down menu, then click on the Create New Wire List option. You must enter a file Name during the creation process. This name will be used by the software to locate, edit and print the data contained in the Wire List file. Sumitomo Page 140

The Description field is optional; however, it is very convenient for differentiating between similar file names. From this window, you are also asked to specify Special Features, Sleeve, Font and Alignment information. If you will be using the advanced features, these features will not mater, as you will be selecting these in the Advances screen (Bartender screen). Next, enter the Sleeve information - the Type, Color, Size and Length of the product you wish to print. Now, enter the information for the Font you wish the text on the tags to be printed with: Font Name, Font Style, Point size and number of Lines. (The only feature you need to worry about in this set is the number of lines). Last, enter the Alignment information: Horizontal and Vertical, again these features will be identified in the Advanced screen. After completing this window, you will have created a Wire List file in which to store your markers. The next step is to enter marker data for your Wire List. Clicking on the Accept button will bring up the Marker Entry window. You can now start entering the markers for your wire list. You can also identify the marker format (text positioning and graphics placement). To identify the template for all your makers in this newly created wire list, follow the instructions below. Wire List Entry and Editing This graphic shows the Wire List entry window and the beginning point for entering marker data. The data entry point (called the editing position) will always be in the upper left corner of your window. In addition to entering data, the user may change the number of copies of each marker. Entering data is accomplished by typing data into the marker - or by using one of the shortcut keys, then closing that line of data by using the Return or Tab keys, or the Add/Edit tag button. This will move the finished marker down one position and let you start entering a new marker. Sumitomo Page 141

To link a Logo or graphic to this wire list, click on your Advanced button in the upper right hand corner of the marker entry and editing window. This will bring up the Advanced window with the marker template already setup for you. You can now add any graphic to the template and also link your marker the text lines of to the template. Adding Graphics to you Marker template To add a Logo or graphic, click on the Create drop down menu, then click on the Picture menu item or click on the Picture Icon. Now click on the marker template aproximately where you want it to be placed and double click on the icon that has been placed on the template. Sumitomo Page 142

This will bring up a modify selected picture window. Now click on the Select Picutre button and brows to the picture you wish to insert into the template. Sumitomo Page 143

You can now resize and drag the picture where you wish to place it on your template. You have now completed the process of placing a graphic on the marker template. This graphic will be printed on all markers in you wire list. Sumitomo Page 144

Linking Text to the Template To link your text lines from the Sumitomo marker entry window to an advanced template, click on the Create drop down menu, then click on the Text menu item or click on the Picture Icon. Now click on the template aproximately where you wish to place the text. To link this text to your SumiMark III marker text line, double click on the Sample Text display to get the Modify Selected Text object window. To link your marker entry text line, the one change you must make at the Modify Selected Text object window is the data source. If it is not on the Data Source tab, click on the Data Source tab at the top of the window. Now Click on the Source drop down box and select Database Field and click on the Advanced >> button in the bottom right hand corner of the window. This will take you to the advanced window to make the last entry that completes the text link to your marker data. Sumitomo Page 145

At the advanced window click on the Share/Name tab under the source (Database Field) option and type the line you wish to attach to this text object (line1, line2 etc.) in the Name field. ATTENTION: this must be typed in exactly as shown all lower case and no space between the line and the line number (line1). You have now completed the text link to your SumitMark III marker data. You can now change the position, font, font size and many other text attributes you wish to change. Sumitomo Page 146

Now click on the OK button to exit this window. Youre label window will look something like this. Note that you may have to change the size and position of the Field: <Empty> text object. Sumitomo Page 147

When you have finished with all your text lines, exit out of this window, back to the SumiMark data entry window. When you have finished inputting all marker data into the Wire List file, click on Print button to enter the print window, or click on Exit button to leave this window and return to the main SumiMark III window. The inputted data will be saved with either option. Click on the Print Advanced button instead of the Print button to print your wire list ncluding graphics. Note: if you use the Print button, the system will print the text as you see it on your window instead of the advanced marker wire list that you created. Sumitomo Page 148

This concludes the instructions on printing markers with logo's and graphics. Sumitomo Page 149
