English For all available roduct documentation Product descrition The oerating instructions describe the entire function. The function is limited, deending on the roduct variant. You can find detailed secifications for the roduct, the device descrition file (IODD) with a descrition of the IO-Link arameters and the declaration of conformity at: Safety Intended use The ressure sensor SPAN is intended for monitoring ressure of comressed air and inert gases in the iing. General safety information Only use the roduct in its original status, without any unauthorised modifications. Only use the roduct if it is in an excellent technical status. The roduct is intended for use in industrial environments. Measures may need to be imlemented in residential areas for radio interference suression. Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use. Oerate the roduct only with comressed air of the secified air quality class ( Technical data). Observe the secifications on the rating late. Comly with all alicable national and international regulations. Disosal Observe the local secifications for environmentally friendly disosal. Overview 3 3 Function and alication The sensor converts neumatic ressure values (relative ressure) into electrical signals, which can be used for control or regulating functions. Measurements are carried out using a iezoresistive sensor element with a following electronic evaluation unit. Interfacing to the higher-level system is rovided by or switching oututs, an otional analogue outut and an otional IO-Link interface. The switching oututs can be configured for monitoring of a threshold value, a ressure or a differential ressure. The oututs can be set as PNP or NPN and normally oen (NO) or normally closed (NC). Mechanical and neumatic An unfavourable mounting osition can imair the function of the roduct. Mount the sensor so that no condensate from the comressed air lines can gather in the device. Mounting bracket Auto difference monitoring d_ _ This funciton ermits monitoring of a ressure value for constancy. If the alied ressure is constant in the between [SP.Lo] and [SP.Hi], the reference ressure PRef is automatically determined. The result is a switching oeration at the outut. The signal change signals the start of ressure monitoring. If the ressure remains in the monitoring [d.sp] around PRef, the ressure is stable. Switch on sensor (RUN mode) Switch on the oerating voltage. Current measured value is dislayed. The sensor is in the basic status (RUN mode). The basic status can be reached from other modes by: ressing edit button for 3 seconds exiration of a monitoring time (Timeout).3 Dislaying arameters (SHOW mode) Switching outut A Press A-key. The first arameter set is dislayed. [Fctn] flashes. The subsequent arameters can be dislayed by reeatedly ressing the A key ( Fig. 9). At the end, the min. and max. values are dislayed. This can be reset with the key. Switching outut B or analogue outut for ressure signal InA Press B-key. The first arameter set is dislayed. [Fctn] with B or [] with InA flashes. The subsequent arameters can be dislayed by reeatedly ressing the B-key ( Fig. 9). 4 .4 Enter the security code (EDIT mode). Press the button. The EDIT mode is active. If the security code is activated, the arameter entry otion is blocked: [Lock] flashes.. Enter security code set with A or B key. 3. Press the button briefly. [A] flashes. The arameter entry otion is unblocked.. Configuring switching outut (EDIT mode) The rocess is the same for configuring the switching oututs for A and B. In the following, the rocess is described using the switching outut A. Menu structure Fig.. Set threshold value comarator _I, window comarator _I I_, auto difference monitoring d_i I_. Press the button briefly. [] aears. [A] flashes.. Press the button briefly. [Fctn] flashes. 3. With A or B key, select _I or _I I_ or d_i I_. 4. Press the button briefly. The set value is saved. The next adjustable arameter is shown.. Set arameters with A- or B-key. 6. Reeat oints 4 and until all arameters are set. 7. Press the button. Switching functions Chater 3..8 Relicating arameters (EDIT mode) Requirement: The re-configured sensor (master sensor) is ready for oeration (RUN mode). Master sensor and device sensor have the same design regarding the arameters (same device ID). The master sensor is connected with the device sensor ( Fig. ). Parameterisation of the device sensor must not be blocked via IO-Link. The device sensor is in an unswitched status (switching outut PNP, dislay A off ). Fig. Master-Sensor Power suly. Select secial menu [Sec] at the master sensor via device settings.. Press the button briefly until [MASt] aears. 3. With A or B key, select [ON]. 4. Press the button [REPL] / [RedY] aears.. Press A- or B-key. [REPL] / [RUN] aears briefly. The arameters are transmitted to the device sensor. [REPL] / [RedY] aears. If an error occurs, an error message aears ( Fig. ). 6. Reeat oint if an additional sensor should be arameterised. 7. Press the button briefly. Device-Sensor.6 Change device settings (EDIT mode). Press the button briefly. [] aears. [A] flashes.. With A or B key, select secial menu [Sec]. [Sec] flashes. 3. Press the button briefly. [Filt] flashes. 4. Set arameters with A- or B-key.. Press the button briefly. The set value is saved The next adjustable arameter is dislayed. 6. Reeat oints 4 and until all arameters are set..7 Set analogue outut (EDIT mode). Press the button briefly. [] aears. [A] flashes.. Select [InA] with the A-key or B-key. [] aears. [InA] flashes. 3. Press the button briefly. [] flashes. 4. Set arameters with A- or B-key.. Press the button briefly. The set value is saved. The next adjustable arameter is shown. 6. Reeat oints 4 and until all arameters are set. 7. Press the button.

Zero oint synchronisation (zero adjust) Requirement: The sensor is ready for oeration (RUN mode). [Z.AdJ] [ON] is set ( Cha..6). The measured value lies in the bar ± 3 % FS. Press the A- and B-key and button simultaneously. [OK] aears. The zero oint synchronisation was successful. [FAIL] aears. The zero oint synchronisation was not successful. Check requirements. If [Z.AdJ] [OFF] is set for a later time, the device takes over the factory setting calibration values.. Teach switching oints (TEACH mode) The rocess for teaching the switching oututs for A (A-key) and B (B-key) is the same. In the following, the rocess is described using the switching outut A. There is no Timeout in the TEACH mode. The sensor changes to the RUN mode only after the entire teach rocess is ended. If the security code is activated, the arameter entry otion is blocked: [Lock] flashes. Enter the security code ( Cha..4). 6 Oeration Caution Proerty damage due to high temeratures. Extreme neumatic conditions (high cycle rate with large ressure amlitude) can heat the roduct above 8 C. Select the oerating conditions (in articular the ambient temerature, ressure amlitude, cycle rate, current consumtion) such that the roduct does not heat u above the maximum ermitted oerating temerature. Restoring factory settings (restore) By resetting to factory settings, the current settings are lost.. Switch off the oerating voltage.. Kee the A- and B-keys ressed down simultaneously. 3. Switch on the oerating voltage. 4. Additionally ress the button. [Rsto] [PARM] aears. All arameters are reset to the factory settings ( Fig. ). 7 Maintenance and care. Switch off the energy sources (oerating voltage, comressed air).. Clean sensor with non-abrasive cleaning agents. 8 Disassembly. Switch off the energy sources (oerating voltage, comressed air).. Searate connections from the sensor. 3. Loosen the mountings.. Establish switching function in the EDIT mode ( Cha..).. Create ressure value. 3. Press the A-key and button. The current ressure value will then be adoted as the first teach oint (TP). [t-in] flashes. 4. Create ressure value.. Press the A-key and button. The current ressure value is adoted as the second teach oint (TP).
