1 INVACARE PROGRAMMING: FIELD REFERENCE GUIDE Programming a MOTION CONCEPTS POWERED SEATING SYSTEM ( M60i MODULE ) using the INVACARE MK6i PROGRAMMER Technical Service Manual WARNING! 3 - 3 - POWERED SEATING PROGRAMMING for the MOTION CONCEPTS M60i MODULE IMPORTANT! The instructions provided in this Service Manual are specific to the programming of a Motion Concepts Powered Seating System equipped with our M60i Control Module. Please refer to the Invacare 205 MK6i Reference Guide (provided separately) for additional wheelchair programming instructions using the MK6i Hand- Held Display/Programmer..0 OVERVIEW: Invacare MK6i Hand-Held Programmer A. Up & Down Navigation (arrow) keys: Scroll through program menu and/or parameter options/values Increase or decrease the selected parameter value. B. Left & Right Navigation (arrow) keys: Right arrow- Scroll along menu line items and branch further into the menu structure; Left arrow- Return to the previous screen C. SELECT Button Opens the highlighted parameter and/or displays the programmable parameter menu options/values; Selects the highlighted parameter option/value; Initiates Memory Card file transfer when prompted D. SAVE Button: (Save button must be pressed twice to save changes) st Time (screen prompt) = press <SAVE> to continue ; 2nd Time (screen prompt) = SAVE COMPLETE - press any key to continue. PWR/INFO Button PWR- Turns power on/off to the MK6i Programmer; INFO*- In program mode, the Info Button displays definitions, error code explanations and trouble shooting tips for highlighted parameters & values. *Note: The Invacare Professional Memory (SD) Card must be installed to access help info; the Professional Memory Card is provided with all MK6i Programmers) Important Information for Saving Adjustments: Adjustments can be made/saved for all drives (D, D2, D3, D4) at the same time, or indivually for each drive (refer to examples below): When an ENTIRE ROW is highlighted (), all four drives are saved at once. When only ONE VALUE (cell) is highlighted (2) in one drive, only that drive is saved. 2

4 - 4 - WARNING! Risk of system damage or serious personal injury Incorrect programming of the power positioning system could result in an unsafe set-up of a wheelchair for a user. It is important that you read and understand all instructions provided. Please contact Motion Concepts Technical Service Department if you have any questions or concerns regarding programming 2. Connecting the MK6i Programmer and Accessing the Power Seating Parameters. Plug the MK6i Hand-Held Programmer into the charger port at the front of the Invacare MPJ+ Joystick. 2. Power on the MPJ+ Joystick, followed by the MK6i Programmer. Once the programmer is initialized, the start-up screen will open up in the MK6i display. 3. Use the Up/Down navigation arrows to scroll to the Powered Seating parameter (), then press the Right arrow to enter into the Powered Seating menu screen (2). J. 2.2 Programming the Power Seating Parameters A. SEATING SET-UP: TURN ACTUATORS ON/OFF ON THE POWERED SEATING SYSTEM:. From the Powered Seating Menu, scroll Up/Down to the Seating Set-Up parameter and press the Right arrow key to enter the Seating Set-Up menu. 2. Select ON for each actuator in the Powered Seating System; Select OFF for all others. 3. For Legs, choose either OFF (No Power Legs), CNTR (Power Center Mount), or IND (Individual Power Legs). 4. Channel 6 is reserved for any special actuator added to the system (i.e., VSR, Power Chin Boom, etc ) 5. SAVE button twice to save all changes.

5 - 5 - B. SENSOR SET-UP: SETS THE TIPSY SENSOR ANGLE POSITIONS (SAFETY LIMITS): WARNING! Risk of system damage, personal injury or death The angle at which limits are set is critical to the safe operation of the power positioning system. Motion Concepts will not be liable for any injuries or damage sustained when adjustments are made beyond the factory recommended settings. IMPORTANT! When adjusting/programming the Tipsy Sensor, please note that the Home, Reduce, DLO and Max-Angle limits are contiguous. Each limit/angle must be set to a greater or equal angle than the previous. i. Programming the Tipsy Sensor:. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the Sensor Set-Up parameter and press the Right arrow key to enter the Sensor SetUp menu. 2. Scroll to the limit you wish to adjust (HOME, SLOW DOWN (Reduced Drive Speed), DLO or MAX BACK ANGLE), and press the SELECT button enter into the programming screen. 3. Use the Up/Down arrows to adjust (Tilt/Recline) the seating system to the desired angle (Note: follow set-up instructions provided on the MK6i programmer display- see example below for HOME position). Once the desired angle is set, press SELECT to save the setting. 4. (If applicable) ing the Right arrow (while in the programming screen) will allow you to change actuators (e.g. switch actuator from Tilt to Recline), the program the limit as per above. 5. SAVE button twice to save changes. Use the Left arrow to return the Sensor SetUp menu. SELECT. UP/DOWN arrows to adjust angle; 2. SELECT to set angle; 3. SAVE twice to save changes 4. LEFT arrow to return to the Sensor Set-up menu 5 Repeat steps -4 for each angle ii. Re-Setting The Tipsy Sensor: The Sensor SetUp menu has 2 available options to reset the tipsy sensor:. SET DEFAULT: Provides the option to return to PRESET (factory defaults) or NONE. PRESET = (Factory Default) 5 Home, 20 Slow Down, 30 DLO, 68 Max Angle NONE = -- Home, -- Slow Down, 30 DLO, 68 Max Angle (same values as RESET option) 2. RESET: Resets the Limits as follows -- Home, -- Slow Down, 30 DLO, 68 Max Angle IMPORTANT! RECOMMENDED TIPSY ANGLES (SAFETY LIMITS) Please refer to the following factory recommended limits/lockout angles when programming the Tipsy Sensor: HOME 0 to 20 SLOW DOWN Limit Max. Limit = 20 (Driving Speed is reduced to 20% of max speed). DLO (Drive Lockout) Limit Max. DLO = 30 (Max Recommended DLO = 25 (if No Slow Down Limit)) MAX BACK ANGLE Limit 2 Max. Tilt Limit = 55 (MCT systems), 50 (50T Module) or 45 (45T2 Tilt/Lift Module) Max. Tilt/Recline Limit = 68 (Tilt/Recl, Recl-only) Note: DO NOT exceed the maximum recommended DLO Limit 2 Note: for Bariatric (MCT-B) systems, the Max.Tilt Limit may be limited to 30 or 45 based on client weight

6 - 6 - C. DRIVE LOCK OUT (DLO): TURNS THE DRIVE LOCKOUT ON/OFF IN EACH DRIVE PROFILE. From the Powered Seating Menu, scroll Up/Down to the DLO parameter.. 2a. To turn DLO On or Off for All Drive profiles (D, D2, D3, D4), highlight the Entire Row (A), then press SELECT. 2b. To turn DLO On or Off for an Individual Drive profile, press the Right arrow key and highlight the individual cell (B), then press SELECT. 3. Choose ON or OFF from the menu option display, and press SELECT to store the setting. 4. SAVE button twice to save your changes. A B e.g. To adjust all Drive Profiles e.g. To adjust an individual Drive Profile D. DRIVER CONTROL (DRVR CNTRL): SETS HOW THE DRIVE CONTROL WILL OPERATE THE ACTUATORS. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the DRVR CNTRL parameter. 2a. To set the DRVR CNTRL for All Drive profiles (D, D2, D3, D4), highlight the Entire Row (C), then press SELECT to display the Driver Control options*. 2b. To set the DRVR CNTRL for an Individual Drive profile, press the Right arrow key and highlight the individual cell (D), then press SELECT to display the Driver Control options*. 3. Scroll Up/Down to the desired Driver Control option and press SELECT to store the setting. (Refer to Fig.. for a detailed description of the various Driver Control options). 4. SAVE button twice to save your changes. *OPTIONS C D e.g. To adjust all Drive Profiles e.g. To adjust an individual Drive Profile

Driver Controls OFF 4-SW LTCH-4SW 4SW2LVL 4SWL2LVL MOMSW LTCHSW CAPS - Disables driver control operation of the Powered Seating for a specified Drive profile - 4 quadrant/direction drive contol operates up to 4 actuators - Same as 4-SW, but operates in Latched Mode. (Requires a Repeated command to stop the Actuator). - 4 Switches operating in 2 Levels. Recommended for Head Controls with RIM. (This setting turns off forward (occipital pad) command to allow the head control to be USED AS HEAD REST). st Mode Switch activation= Level, 2nd Mode Switch activation= Level 2 Level : Left command= Forward Actuator Selection; Right command= Reverse Actuator Selection Level 2: Left command= Left Actuator Selection; Right command= Right Actuator Selection - 4 Switches operating in 2 Levels using Latched Mode. Switch configurations operate identical to 4SW2LVL but in Latched Mode. (Requires a Repeated command to stop the Actuator). - Single Momentary Switch. Intended primarily for Head Control drivers operating with RIM. Requires mode switch to to cycle actuator quadrants; Switch (SW) activation operates chosen actuator. - Single Switch operates in a Latched Mode. The first command activates actuator, repeated command stops/deactivates actuator - CAPS Mode= Cycling Actuators with Powered Seating. Left/Right command on driver control cycles through actuator options; Forward/Reverse command operates the selected actuator (in Direct Mode). E. DRIVER STD PROGRAMS: ASSIGNS PRESET POWERED SEATING (ACTUATOR) FUNCTIONS TO SPECIFIC DRIVER CONTROL QUADRANTS. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the DVR STD PROGRAMS parameter. 2a. To set the DVR STD PROGRAMS for All Drive profiles (D, D2, D3, D4), highlight the Entire Row (A), then press SELECT to display the Driver Standard Programoptions*. 2b. To set the DVR STD PROGRAMS for an Individual Drive profile, press the Right arrow key and highlight the individual cell (B), then press SELECT to display the Driver Standard Program options*. 3. Scroll Up/Down to the desired Driver Standard Program option and press SELECT to store the setting. (Refer to Appendix I.- Driver Control, Standard Program Actuator Assignments (p.). Note: the Driver Control quadrants will be pre-set based on the standard program configuration selected. 4. SAVE button twice to save your changes. e.g. To adjust all Drive Profiles e.g. To adjust an individual Drive Profile *OPTIONS A B e.g. (from Appendix I) - Standard Program Actuator Assignments (4-SW) for TREL

8 - 8 - F. DVR CNTRL SETTINGS: ALLOWS RE-ASSIGNMENT OF THE POWERED SEATING (ACTUATOR) FUNCTIONS FOR EACH DRIVER CONTROL QUADRANT (PROGRAMMABLE FOR EACH DRIVE PROFILE). From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the DVR CNTRL SETTINGS parameter, and press the Right arrow key to enter the Driver Control Settings (Parameters) menu. 2. Scroll Up/Down to select the Driver Control quadrant/parameter you wish to adjust (i.e.; Fwd, Rev, Left, Right) 3a. To customize the Driver Control Parameters for All Drive profiles (D, D2, D3, D4), highlight the Entire Row (A), then press SELECT to display the list of available Actuator Assignments*. 3b. To customize the Driver Control for a specific Drive profile, press the Right arrow key and highlight the individual cell (B), then press SELECT to display the list of available Actuator Assignments*. 4. Scroll Up/Down to the desired Actuator Assignment and press SELECT to store the setting. 5. REPEAT steps 2-4, as necessary, for each Drive Control Parameter and/or each Drive Profile, until all programming is completed. 6. SAVE button twice to save your changes. A *Actuator Assignment Options e.g. To adjust all Drive Profiles Right> B e.g. To adjust an individual Drive Profile G. ATT STD PROGRAM: SETS THE POWERED SEATING (ACTUATOR) FUNCTIONS FOR THE ATTENDANT SWITCH. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the ATT STD PROGRAM parameter and press SELECT to enter the Attendant Standard Program (options) menu. 2. Scroll Up/Down to the desired powered seating configuration from the Att Std Program options* and press SELECT to store the setting. Note: the system will automatically recognize the the type of Attendant Switch (i.e. 4-way, 8-way, etc..) that is plugged into the M60i module and will pre-assign specific actuator functions to the available switch assignments. 4. SAVE button twice to save your changes. SELECT *OPTIONS

9 - 9 - H. ATTENDANT SETTING: ALLOWS RE-ASSIGNMENT OF THE POWERED SEATING (ACTUATOR) FUNCTIONS FOR THE ATTENDANT SWITCH. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the ATTENDANT SETTING parameter, and press the Right arrow key to enter the Attendant Setting Menu. 2. Scroll Up/Down to highlight the Switch you wish to program (i.e.; Switch, Switch2,...Switch2), then press SELECT to display the list of available Actuator Assignments* 3. Scroll Up/Down to highlight the desired Actuator Assignment and press SELECT to store the setting. 4. REPEAT steps 2-3, as necessary, for each Switch, until all programming is completed. 5. SAVE button twice to save your changes. *Actuator Assignment Options Right> SELECT I. SEATING ADJUST (MOTOR SPEEDS): ALLOWS FOR MOTOR SPEED ADJUSTMENT OF EACH ACTUATOR IN EACH DIRECTION. From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the SEATING ADJUST parameter, and press the Right arrow key to enter the Seating Adjust Menu. 2. Scroll Up/Down to highlight the Actuator you wish to program (i.e.; Tilt, Recline, Legs, etc...), then press SELECT to display the Motor Speed Adjustment Menu. 3. Scroll Up/Down to highlight the desired Speed Adjustment Parameter (i.e.; Speed Up or Speed Down) 4a. To adjust the motor speed for All Drive profiles (D- D4), highlight the Entire Row (A), then press SELECT to display the speed adjustment window; Use Up/Down arrows to adjust the speed setting and press SELECT to store it. 4b. To customize the motor speeds for a specific Drive profile, press the Right arrow key and highlight the individual cell (B), then press SELECT to display the speed adjustment window; Use Up/Down arrows to adjust the speed setting and press SELECT to store it. 5. REPEAT steps 2-4, as necessary, for each Actuator, until all programming is completed. 6. SAVE button twice to save your changes. 10 - 0 - J. DIAGNOSTICS: ALLOWS ASSESSMENT OF THE TIPSY SENSOR SETTINGS (FOR EACH SETTABLE POSITION). From the Powered Seating menu, scroll Up/Down to the DIAGNOSTICS parameter and press SELECT to enter the Diagnostics Menu. 2. Use the Up/Down arrows to activate the actuator and assess/diagnose the existing set-up. (Note: the MK6i display will provide screen prompts to indicate any setting changes that occur while the actuator is activated). 3. the Right arrow to change actuators within the Tipsy Limit/Setting being diagnosed. 4. Repeat steps 2-3 for each Tipsy Limit/Setting you wish to diagnose. Diagnostics Menu SELECT Use Right arrow to change actuator (TILT, REC, ELEV, etc..) The display will update as the actuator is activated up and down through the existing limit settings.
