1 Licensed Program Specifications Tivoli Storage Manager, S/390 Edition Version 4 Release 2 Program Number 5697-TS9 Tivoli 1 Storage Manager, S/390 2 Edition, is an advanced storage management solution now extended to include comprehensive central management of multiple Tivoli Storage Manager servers, lights-out server automation, and remote help desk support. Tivoli Storage Manager, S/390 Edition, allows an OS/390 2, z/os 2,orVM 2 system to act as a backup-archive server, and provides a highly automated, centrally scheduled, policy-managed backup and archive facility for both IBM 2 and non-ibm file servers and workstations. The Tivoli Storage Manager administrative Web interface for the server and the Tivoli Storage Manager Web backup-archive client (Web client) are available at no charge. The enhancements for Version 4.2 include the ability to write to tape 256kb blocks on OS/390 and z/os utilizing the Large Block Support. 5 v Backup-Archive CLI and GUI v The Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) interface driver (English only) Tivoli Storage Manager Web Interface Requirements The Tivoli Storage Manager Web administrative interface for the server and a Web client interface for client machines require a capable browser, such as Java 12 Runtime 1.1.6, Netscape Navigator or 4.5, or Microsoft Internet Explorer at the current level. The administrative Web browser interface requires the TCP/IP communications protocol. Tivoli Storage Manager Web Backup-Archive Client The Tivoli Storage Manager Web backup-archive client (Web client) is supported on the following platforms: v AIX 4.3.3, AIX 5L for POWER V5.1 v HP-UX 11, 11i v SUSE 7.0, 7.1, Red Hat 7.0, Caldera Linux 2.4, Turbo Linux 6.0 v NetWare 4.20 or 5.1 v DYNIX/ptx Release v OS/390 V2R8, V2R9, or V2R10 with SMP/E v SGI IRIX UNIX 6.5 with EFS or XFS File systems v Sun Solaris 2.6, 7, or 8 (32-bit); Sun Solaris 7 or 8 (64-bit) v Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1 v Microsoft Windows NT Version 4.0 (SP3, SP4, SP5, SP6, or SP6a), Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, or Windows 2000 The Tivoli Storage Manager Web client with SSL communications is supported on AIX 4.3.3, AIX 5.1, and all Windows clients when interfacing with the remote browser. Licensed Program Materials Availability Restricted Materials: None. This licensed program is available without source licensed program materials. The program is available in object code only. Supplemental Terms Designated Machine Identification Designated Machine Identification Required: Yes. Testing Period Two months. Use-Based Charges/Usage Restriction Users: Charges for this program are based on the number of managed nodes. You must acquire one client connection for each managed node. The total number of managed nodes may not exceed the number authorized. A user is a non-administrative client attached to the Tivoli Storage Manager server. The user can be one of the following: v A backup-archive client v An API client v Vendor-supplied client v An application client Type/Duration of Program Services Program services are available through an IBM Support Center and will be available until discontinued by IBM upon at least a twelve-month written notice. IBM provides defect support through Program Services. A defect-related problem means that the program does not conform to specifications and could be either a code or a documentation error. For information on how you may access Program Services or other fee-based support services, contact IBM or its reseller from whom you acquired this program. The Web client requires the following: v A Java capable browser, such as Netscape Navigator 4.06 or, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or v TCP/IP communication protocol Not applicable for this program. v At least one Tivoli Storage Manager server Softcopy Publications Authorization for Copy and Use on Home/Portable Computer The program that IBM licenses may include licensed publications in displayable or source form. Except as provided in this section, the terms and conditions of the license agreement with IBM apply to these publications and to any copies that are made from them. The licensed publications may be used in displayable or source form on all machines designated for this program. Additional Supplemental Terms Program Features This program has one or more features that are designed for use on machines other than the machines on which the program is used. Persons using a machine outside of your enterprise may use the copy only to access the associated program. You agree to pay IBM for each copy you make of any feature we refer to as a Distributed Feature. Program Upgrade If you acquire this program as an upgrade from another program, your license is contingent upon the new program replacing the old program. You agree to destroy the replaced IBM program. Warranty This program is warranted as specified in the IBM license.
