2 This portfolio emphasizes four areas I have had the most experience in the past ten years. The first area of emphasis is video. While working at Digital Media Communications (DMC), I began to better understand the various methods of Video Editing and Motion Graphics. It also tightened up my Graphic ability in all Adobe and Avid software. The second area of emphasis is print. While working at FedEx Office and Print, I worked with the Signs and Graphics department and other areas of the company. This work experience not only introduced me to the world of print, but it has increased my overall knowledge of different ways to layout information and how to make it ready for print. I became more familiar with Indesign and Quark XPress. The third area of emphasis is web. While at Tetra Tech and also for DMC, I became much more versed in many web softwares. The forth area of emphasis is 3D imagery. While working at Tetra Tech, I worked on both technical and marketing projects to make imagery made in 3D Studio Max. 3D imagery has also been used to compliment all other areas of emphasis. 3 Video Editing and Motion Graphics was an exciting part of my development. Because this type of media requires such close attention to detail, I developed a good sense of workﬂow. 4 In this print project I used Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3DS Max. Sometimes a print project requires the use of serveral types of software, to get the results required. In this case the design was intended to end up on a real can, but it is more cost effective for it to be viewed on a can created in a 3D program. In my past experiences I have had to print in various sizes and on various surfaces. Aquiring knowledge about the types of different printing methods and printers has made me very comfortable with preparing documents for print. 6 3D Imagery This image describes mineral deposits underground. The image was created first in Gems using actual information acquired from drill holes (for accurate geometrical shapes), then imported into 3DS Max to texture and shade. Photoshop and Illustrator where used to finish the image. This is an example of base image development that is used in several marketing materials including proposal covers. Imagery like this can be useful when branding specific projects. Making images like this can help differentiate your marketing efforts from the competition.
