PACKAGE DESIGN / BRANDING The idea of Banane Chocolates is based on my desire for chocolate combined with wanting to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Banane are dark chocolates infused with natural fruit. Because of the many competitors within the chocolate market, I wanted the design to stand out, and have a retro, modern feel. I used a unique combination of colour- a combination of browns, yellows, with a turquoise based pattern, which worked really well together. The logo is based on a unique line based typography for BANANE, with a clean, sans serif font called Gotham for the slogan. The logo contains a mix of brown, yellow and turquoise. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP BANANE CHOCOLATES Made for: BANANE CHOCOLATES Year: 2017 Concept: A retro, modern look, which will stand out amongst its many competitors.

ANNUAL REPORT This annual report was created for the Canadian Council for the Arts. The Canada Council for the Arts is Canada s public arts funder, with a mandate to foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in, the arts. The audience range from young artists, age 25 40, both male and female, across Canada. I wanted this design to be be clear, and accessible for a younger, very artistic audience. The feel of this design is artistic, and fun, in order to represent the funders, and the artists the CCA supports. This design is based on the art of typography, I have used many fonts throughout, with a focus on Pompier, a clean, sans-serif font, and Frederik the Great, which is a handwritten font, that reminds me of ink drawings. I used a whole slew of paintbrush tools in Photoshop to create the brush like effect of the cover, and pages throughout the magazine., The picture of a window on the cover signifies how CCA has opened the window for so many artists across Canada. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP ANNUAL REPORT Made for: Canadian Council for the Arts Year: 2017 Concept: An annual report that has a unique, artistic feel that will represent such an important Canadian organization.

TECHNICAL DRAWING Using an actual image of a house, I created an outline in Illustrator using the pen tool. I then created patterns and textures using Illustrator, and Photoshop, and applied them to the shingles on the roof, the wood textures, and bricks. I also created a leaf stamp for the background in Illustrator. I used drop shadow to create depth, and the eye dropper tool to recreate the right hues. It was then used in an advertisement for an architectural firm. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP TECHNICAL DRAWING Made for: Thomas Weens Architecture Firm Year: 2017 Concept: A technical drawing based on a house created by the architecture firm.

PETER PAN MAGAZINE My inspiration for this magazine design was the New Yorker, as it is such a classic design, and something I have always admired. When a New Yorker magazine is on the shelf, it stands out. I drew the cover myself using black ink, and a photo of Factory Theatre. I then scanned the drawing, opened Photoshop, and leveled and changed the hues, I also added red to the Factory sign, which matched the signature red of the magazine. I used a three column spread, similar to the New Yorker with Drop Caps, and quotes throughout. I used just one colour, red, alongside black and white. I used two fonts, Lobster, a cursive serif font, great for headlines, alongside Lora, a simple sans-serif font. SKILLS USED: INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP PETER PAN MAGAZINE Made for: PETER PAN Year: 2016 Concept: A magazine focusing on North American artists.

CD AND WEBSITE Being a huge fan of Swedish pop star Robyn, I created a CD, poster, and website dedicated to one of her albums, Body Talk. Using a few of her high res headshots as a base, I altered the levels, exposure, and brightness of the images, creating an over exposed effect in Photoshop. I then downloaded a series of watercolour and oil brushes, and experimented with brush strokes as a background. For typography, the header is a serif, cursive style font called Satisfy, and the body is a sans-serif, clean font called Quicksand. They contrast nicely together. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP DREAMWEAVER ROBYN CD Made for: ROBYN Year: 2016 Concept: A unique CD that reflects the Robyn brand.

BRANDING PROJECT I was assigned to create the branding, and package design for Movado Hair & Spa. I wanted to create something that flowed well, but also had a modern, and simple feel. I sketched out some ideas, and then designed three separate logo options in Adobe Illustrator. What I came up with was placing the Movado inside the scissors in a simple, sans-serif font. I also decided to use the light, kind of peach / pink colour as the spot colour for the logo. That colour is popular right now, and can be perceived as both a masculine and feminine tone. The package design mimics the simple, clear design of the logo. A very simple, textured paper, with a combination of black, pink, and white. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR INDESIGN PHOTOSHOP MOVADO Made for: MOVADO Year: 2016 Concept: New branding for the company

AWARENESS AD CAMPAIGN After days of brainstorming for this campaign, I remembered a brilliant exhibition I saw called Whose Utopia? by Cao Fei at the MOMA PS1 in New York. Cao travelled to a factory in China and lived with the workers. She took powerful photographs, and filmed her experiences there. I used some of her photography in my ad campaign in order to emphasize the idea of being a non-conformist in a very conformed and regimented society. This is an awareness ad campaign presented in Vogue Magazine, which has a similar demographic to DIESEL. For the design, I kept it simple, as the powerful photographs speak for themselves. A clean, sans-serif font was used, the background was also turned to grayscale in order to make the figures stand out, and I simplified the clothing using Photoshop. The call to action of this campaign is to go to diesel.com/myfutureisreal in order to purchase a pair of jeans, with 20% of the profits going to an organization that supports factory workers worldwide. SKILLS USED: ILLUSTRATOR PHOTOSHOP AWARENESS AD CAMPAIGN Made for: DIESEL Year: 2016 Concept: An awareness campaign for the exploitation of Factory workers in China.
