2 ABOUT KASCO ABRASIVES Kasco Abrasives is an American manufacturer of abrasives and backup pads. We have been in business in Michigan since the mid 1970 s with several plant expansions to handle added product lines. In addition to the standard items shown in this catalog we make thousands of special sizes and specifications to fit our customer s requirements. We also provide private label products to many abrasive companies and large distributors. We operate two divisions, Kasco Abrasives and Koltec USA. Kasco Abrasives sell the full abrasive line as well as the Koltec line of backup pads, primarily aimed at the distributor market. Koltec USA produces the backup pads and sells exclusively to other abrasive companies, tool companies, and abrasive converters Cat FAX

Type AZF ZIRCONIA Alumina zirconia (BLUE) for extra long life on tough jobs. Excellent on stainless steel. The best value for heavy production work. Type S SILICON CARBIDE Silicon carbide is recommended for use on granite, marble, masonry, and other non-metallic materials. Quick Change All resin fiber discs can be ordered with a 5/8-11 metal hub. 6 TRIM-KUT DISCS Ideal for light grinding and surface conditioning applications. Use with a wide variety of tools to handle grinding and sanding jobs. The unique plastic back allows self-trimming to assure a constant fresh edge. Both 3" and 5" discs come with one 1/4 mandrel. The 4½" discs have a 7/8 arbor hole. 10 WAVY EDGE H&L DISCS Kasco s wavy hook & loop discs are perfect for sanding small contoured pieces. Since the disc wavy edge extends over the edge of the backup pad they will conform to convex shapes like wood bowls. Our discs are not the typical paper, but cloth back for much longer disc life and durability. These cloth discs will not tear. Also can be special ordered in 3 diameter. With the 1/4 spindle backup pad they can be used with electric drills and other collet tools. 11 FLAP DISCS KASCO flap discs offer the following advantages: Made from alumina zirconia cloth (blue) for extended life and fast cut. Will outlast aluminum oxide resin fiber discs up to 25:1. Removes welds and blends in one fast operation. Provides more uniform grinding than resin fiber discs. Can do the work of both a T-27 wheel and RFD. 18 INTERLEAVED FLAP WHEELS Kasco interleaved flap wheels are made to order with maroon nonwoven material layered with abrasive cloth. All wheels in this list have a 1/4 shank. Grits for the abrasive cloth can be specified from 80 to 400 grit. Most common is 180 or 150 grit. The last three digits of the part number are the grit. See Page 12 for abrasive cloth flap wheels. They have a series of fingers that can reach into tight spaces and conform to the work piece. They resist clogging and do not overheat. Some of benefits include: Power scuffing saves labor and provides a more consistent finish. The ball shape provides superior performance over hand scuffing. The Scuff Ball renews itself as it wears. It can be cleaned with compressed air or water. They do not overheat due to airflow through the open web structure. Available in two sizes: 4" diameter rated at 5,000 RPM and 2.5" diameter rated at 10,000 RPM. These RPM ratings are maximum but Scuff Balls works very well at slower speeds typical of electric drill motors.
