2 Short form Guide Welcome to the Look Home Control and Monitoring system Short form User Guide Please note: Internet access is required as part of the installation process. This guide supports quick installation procedure and daily usage of your Look system. If you experience any problems with regards to this procedure or need further information, please go to: 1. Materials and Tools» Internet access point (i.e. router with RJ-45 connector).» Ten 1.5v, AA-size alkaline batteries for the peripheral devices.» The 8-characters serial number, found on labels in battery compartment and the bottom of base of the Central Control Unit. Please record the serial number here:» The complete Look User Guide may be downloaded from: 3. Central Control Unit Installation Positioning: The Central Control Unit should be installed:» On a flat surface.» In a central home/office location with unshielded, adequate cellular network coverage (1 and near an Internet connection outlet (modem/router connection). Method of Communication: System communication with the Service Provider should be set. It could be: Internet Communication outside the premises will be over the Internet (LAN cable be installed to a local switch), or, optionally; 7 must Cellular Communication outside the premises will be over the mobile network (1) (SIM-card must be installed within the Central Control Unit). If both the SIM-card and the LAN cable are installed, the Internet will be set as the primary communication method and cellular communication will be used as a backup. To Install Communication Hardware: 1. Remove the back cover of the Central Control Unit. 2. If the cellular channel is to be used, insert the SIM-card. 3. Place the backup battery over the SIM-card area with the contacts facing down and towards the base. 4. Insert the back cover into its cavity. (1) Relevant to cellular-only model

4 Short form Guide 5. If Internet is to be used, attach the LAN cable between the socket on the back of the Central Control Unit and a free socket in your Internet modem or router. 6. Plug the power cord into the mini-usb socket on the back of the Central Control Unit and plug the cube into a power outlet. Please verify that the front panel LED switched to orange color. 7. Wait for the front panel LED to turn green (up to 5 minutes). Registration Procedure: Access: To perform the initial Registration launch the Look Web Application through the link: Registration: 1. Click over the Register >> button in the initial Login screen. 2. The window will extend to include a selection menu. Click over the Go to first time registration >> option. 3. New window will pop-up. Type-in the serial number recorded earlier and then click over the Next button. 4. New window will pop-up. Type-in your user information:» Your address (for alerts and notifications),» Create a Password of at least 6-characters (case sensitive) for secured access to the Look Web Application (need confirmation on the next line),» Create your system User Name,» Your mobile smartphone number (international format, digits only, for example: ),» For the Look Mobile Application to be installed on your smartphone, create a 4-digits User identification Code.» Select your Time Zone from the roll-down menu.» Read and acknowledge acceptance of the Terms & Conditions (a copy provided at the end of this manual or may be accessed via the link) by marking the checkbox, and click over the Finish button to terminate this procedure. 5. The main page (the Dashboard) of the Web Application will open: Adding Users: 1. Click over the Users tab (top-left side of the web page) to enter the Users page. The User entered in the previous (registration) step will appear on the

5 first line of Users in the left pane and will show the User s Name and its type (the first User will always be defined as Master). The right pane will provide all of the User s details and allow changing its password. 2. To add new Users: I. Click on the Add New User button. New User row will be added on the left pane. II. Fill the details for this new User in the right pane. All fields required. Note: A User may have a Master or Standard profile; A Standard User can view the system status and reports while a Master User is allowed to change the system s setup. Only two Master Users can be defined per system. III. Once all details were entered; click over the Save button and the new User will be added to the system. Adding a Remote Control Unit: The Look system devices were pre-configured with the exception of the Remote Control Unit (Key Fob) 5 which must be assigned to a specific User as follows: 1. Click on the Devices 2. Click on the need to select the Add New Device v tab, on the top-left side, to enter the Devices web page. Add Key Fob button. A roll-down menu opens, out of which you option. An Add Device window will open. 3. Click on the Browse... button and select a User from the list by clicking over its name. 4. Confirm your selection by clicking over the Select button. Notes: The list includes only Users that were already registered in the system. The selected user will be the owner of the Remote Control Unit. info@look123.ca 5

6 Short form Guide 5. Following the selection, a down-counter clock will begin counting a three minutes period within which you need to power-up the Key Fob by inserting its coin battery. 6. To install a battery in the device, remove its back cover by turning it counter-clockwise using a coin. Tap over the case if the battery does not pop out. Insert the battery with the + pole up, and return the cover by turning it clockwise. 7. An OK message will pop-up once the device was successfully added to the system. 8. If the 3 minutes period expires before you complete this process, disassemble the battery, click a few times over any of the device s keys and start again from step Powering the Other Devices Insert Batteries into all remaining devices. To open the battery compartment, gently remove the back cover on each of the devices. Some devices may require removal of the mounting bracket to expose the battery cover. Insert the AA-size batteries, as required, and place the covers back. Please verify that the batteries polarity match the marking on the devices. 6 Insert a coin and twist it to open the cover 2 Door/Window Sensor 4 Camera 3 Motion Detector

7 5. Mounting the Devices Camera (IPD) and Motion Detector (PIR) 1. Peel off the tape protective cover (on the mounting bracket). Notes: The spherical lens must be pointing down. The clicks you may hear from inside the device are OK it is the anti-tamper mechanism. 2. Place the device approximately 220cm (7 2 ) above the floor and at least 10cm (4 ) below the ceilings (lower installation will limit the detection range) and:» Avoid device exposure to direct sunlight.» For the camera, place the device in a position where it will capture images from the main point of entry. 3 2» For the motion detector, place the device in a position where it will detect movement inside the home. Siren 1. Peel off the tape protective cover (on the mounting bracket). 2. Mount the siren 6 where it will allow the alarm to be heard and act as a warning to potential intruders. Door/Window Sensor This sensor 4 consists of 2 parts, a small magnet and a larger detector. 1. Peel off the tape s protective cover (on the mounting bracket). 2. Mount the detector on the frame of the door/window and the magnet on its panel, close and opposite to the detector while ensuring:» The alignment marks on both components are facing each other.» The two components are not more than 1 2cm ( ) apart.» Both components are mounted high and out of reach. 4 Assign Each Device a Name 1. From the main (Dashboard) page, click on the Devices tab (top-left side) to enter the Devices page and select each device to be named. 2. In the details area (right pane), change the name and description to match each device s details. 3. Repeat this procedure for all devices. 7

8 Short form Guide 6. Installing the Look Mobile Application on a Mobile Device To manage your system via a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), do the following: 1. For both iphone /ipad and Android -based mobile devices use the code to the right for downloading the Look / We.R Mobile Application. 2. Use the 4-digit User Code created during the registration phase (see above page 3) to identify yourself to the system and type-in the Web address provided by your Service Provider as well as all other required data fields. The Look Mobile Application will allow you to perform the following:» Manage and control the system (Arm/Disarm).» Receive event/alarm notification via push messaging.» View a log of events including events captured images.» Operate comfort services (i.e. perform video watch via the Camera).» View devices status (Low Battery, Connection Lost, etc.). /apps/details?id=com.wer.proj ect 7. Test Your System Camera and Motion Detector Walk Test Mode The purpose of this test mode is to verify detection abilities of the Motion Detector (PIR) 2 and Camera (IPD) 3 devices. The test also provides an opportunity to check the installation. This test mode is initiated automatically, for 30 minutes, following one of these actions: 1. Device s initial power-up. 2. Power-up following replacement of the batteries. 3. Adding a new device to the system. During the test, the devices behave as in normal mode the device s red LED is off and will blink upon detection. Move around these devices to check their ability to detect and define their detection range and coverage area. Door/Window Test Test proper installation of the Door/Window 4 Sensors by closing/opening the door/ window: Initially, the device s LED turns ON with green color. Upon opening the door/window, the LED should switch to red color. Close it again the LED should switch back to green. Correct LED colors indicate proper installation.

The Look Web Application The Look Web Application is classic cloud-computing software application providing a smooth, fast and responsive experience along with a full set of tools for home monitoring, safety, security and management (home automation). The web address (link) provided by the Look Service Provider is used for accessing the Look Web Application. Use your Windows -based internet browser for this purpose. Type-in your address and Password and click over the Login button in the Login window (see above page 2) to launch the Web Application. On top of a simple tool bar and status/activation bar, the Web Application provides overview and control in four different aspects (web pages): The System Dashboard Page The Dashboard page provides you with a global overview of the system: On this page you may: 1. View current status of the system s devices, on the left pane. 2. Examine cameras status and watch captured images, on the center pane. 3. View recent events history log, on the right pane info@loo123.ca 9

10 Short form Guide The Devices Management Page This is the system devices management page. It enables you to: 1. Add/Remove a device from the system. 2. Examine devices profile by: 2a Type; 2b Name; 2c Status, in the left pane. 3. Examine detail information of selected (highlighted row in the left pane) devices, in the right pane. 1 2a 2b 2c 2 3 To add a device: Click over the Add New Device v button and select the device from the roll-down menu. A stopwatch will start counting a 3-minutes period allowing insertion of the batteries and new device acknowledgement by the Central Control Unit. When adding a Remote Control Unit (Key Fob), you must assign an owner (pre-defined User) before powering the device. To remove a device: Select the device from the table by clicking over its row and then clicking over the Remove Devices button. The History Page The History page allows investigation of past events including filtering of this information. It is built similar to the Devices page left pane providing the log of events in time-sequenced order and a right pane providing details of the highlighted line-item in the left pane. In case of camera line-item, the right pane will present the images captured during the event as well. It differs from the Devices page by an additional Filter bar:

11 This bar allows you to limit the amount of data presented by specifying to/from dates to be presented as well as limit the display to specific Devices and/or Events and/or Users. Clearing a previously defined filter is done by clicking over the Clear button while following the definition of a new filter; you need to click over the Apply button. The Users Page The Users page presents the system Users information as well as enabling addition and removal of Users and setup of their profile. It is built similar to the Devices and History pages left pane providing the ledger of Users and the right pane providing details of the highlighted line-item in the left pane. The User details provided in the left pane are explained in the above page 3. Any change made to these details require click over the This page also allows: Save button.» Adding new Users by clicking over the Add New User button which opens an empty line-item in the left pane and its empty fields on the right pane.» Removing Users by clicking over the User s line-item followed by a click over the Remove User button. 9. The Look Mobile Application Login The Login screen of the Mobile Application provides access to the Look system via a mobile device like smartphone and tablet computers. Note: The following screen captures were taken on an iphone 4 device. Other smartphones generate very similar images although some slight changes might result from the different operating systems. First time access to the Mobile Application requires registration via the following screen: All fields are mandatory and include:» » Password» User Code, and» IP (address) or Hostname (DNS). Notes: Content of these fields must be identical to correlated fields in the Web application. The IP address or Hostname (DNS) is provided to by your Service Provider. 11

12 Short form Guide Further accessing the Mobile Application will bring up the regular Login screen where you only need to enter the 4-digits User Code to gain access. Proper login will bring up the Home Status screen. Home Status The Look Mobile Application software provides complete overview of the system status. On this screen you may: 1 Watch the Panel s cellular signal strength (if applicable) 2 See the status of the system 3 ARM/DISARM the system with the switches Open the Settings screen to log out or to view your Mobile Application version 5 Examine events History 6 Check the system Devices status 7 Watch images for an alarm-triggered camera device Access the main Status screen Status of the System Disarmed (grey) Armed (green) Alarm (red) Safety (orange)

13 Events History The History screen shows all recent Events. On this screen you can:» Examine the Events list. The list contains:» Device type (image)» Device name and a description» Time stamp indicating time of event» Filter the events list (see below). To manually refresh the screen: Click over the (Refresh) button at the topleft corner of the screen. To view a recorded event: Select the event of interest from the list and click over it to view the images. To filter the Events list: Click the button at the top-right corner of the screen to filter events by criteria. Filtering Events by Criteria Clicking over the button in the Events screen opens the Events filtering screen. Events may be filtered by the following criteria:» Date You need to define from what date till what date you wish to bring up to the screen.» Device Name You need to specify devices to be brought up to the screen by their User given names.» Event Type you need to specify devices to be brought up to the screen by the type of event. 13

14 Short form Guide Captured Images The Video screen enables watching the cameras captured images, for a selected camera, in real-time. On this screen you can:» Refresh the camera list.» Examine the list of camera devices, defined by type, name and location. To view video in real-time: Select a camera device, and click over it to view streaming images from that camera. Devices The Devices screen enables monitoring the system s devices in real-time. On this screen you can:» Refresh the Devices list» Examine the list of all defined system s devices by:» Type» Function» Device Name (Location) Icons to the left of each type-image indicate health status of thedevice. These could be: Low battery Lost communication Tampered

Arming/Disarming the System System mode of operation (Armed (fully), Partially Armed, Disarmed) may be activated through both the Web Application and the Mobile Application, as well as control devices such as the Remote Control Unit (Key Fob). From the Web Application Clicking over 1 or 2 will partially arm the system as defined for night and day modes, while clicking over 3 will fully arm the system. The central 4 icon displays the system s status by color, as detailed in item 2 on page 10 while the text in 5 provides the status data. From the Mobile Application Similar to the Web Application, from within the Home Status screen in the Mobile Application: Clicking over 1 or 2 will partially arm the system as defined for night and day modes, while clicking over 3 will fully arm the system. The central 4 icon displays the system s status by color, as detailed in item 2 on page 10 while the text in 5 provides the status data
