Easy to install wireless technology MOVEMENT DETECTOR WITH INBUILT CAMERA USER GUIDE
What s in the Box? 1 x Wireless Movement Detector with inbuilt camera (also called PIRCAM or PIR Camera) 1 x Adhesive pad 1 x Set of screws and wall plugs What is it? The Movement Detector with inbuilt camera is designed to capture images within an assigned area when an alarm is triggered. The PIR camera will take 3 photos in an alarm event. It takes the first photo immediately after an alarm is triggered, then 2 nd and 3 rd photos in 2 and 4 seconds separately. Besides, equipped with IR illuminator, the camera can capture images even in the night time, ensuring 24-hour surveillance. The PIR Camera consists of a two-part design made up of a cover and a base. The cover contains all the electronics and optics and the base provides a means of fixing. The base has knockouts to allow mounting on either a flat surface or in a corner situation with fixing screws and plugs provided to identify motion within the area it protects. 1. Blue LED /Learn Button 2. Battery insulator tab 3. LED Flash: the LED Flash delivers sufficient light for image capture in the low lux situation. 4. PIR Camera Lens Adding manually the Movement Detector with inbuilt camera to your system MY-SERENITY accessories are easy to add. To do this you need to learn each accessory into the system and then name them in your online account (you can leave the default name if you wish). The button located on the back of the gateway (panel) is the learn button; when this is pressed the gateway beeps to signify that it has been placed into learn mode. Only the top LED is lit during this process (flashing). New devices can be registered only when the gateway is in learn mode. Press the learn button a second time to take the gateway out of learn mode.
1. Place the panel into learn mode. 2. Pull and remove the battery insulator tab from the sensor to power it up (this may take up to 30 seconds from removing the tab). Note: Before adding the PIR Cam to the gateway, please make sure the SIM card is inserted or Ethernet cable connected and that connection works properly first. Learn Button Usage of the PIR Camera 3. Press and hold the learn button of the camera over 12 seconds, then release the learn button until Blue LED and LED flash once to transmit a learn code to the gateway. Then wait 6-8 seconds. 4. Later if the gateway detects a signal transmitted from the camera, the blue LED flashes twice to indicate that the PIR camera is successfully being learnt into the gateway. 5. Press the learn button on the back of the panel a second time to exit learn mode. LED sequence on your gateway should be green-off-green indicating normal operation. Your sensor has now been added to your system. You will now be able to see this device in your account on the My Equipment page. Placing your device The PIR camera designed to be mounted on either a flat surface or in a corner situation with fixing screws and plugs provided. The Movement Detector with inbuilt camera should ideally be mounted in the corner of the room (to give maximum coverage) and between 2 and 2.4 meters above the floor. This will provide a maximum detection distance of approximately 10 meters and a 120 degree angle field of view for the PIR (horizontal). The Camera view angle is 60 degrees (vertical). The Night surveillance of the camera is up to 5 meters (0 Lux). You should also avoid pointing a Movement Detector at: Any door that is also protected by a Door Contact Direct sunlight and heat sources such as fires, boilers and radiators Moving objects, such as curtains or wall hangings Using the screws 1. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the sensor and separate the back plate. 2. Break through the appropriate knockout mounting holes in the back moulding. 3. Using these holes as a template, mark and drill holes in the walls. 4. Insert the wall plugs if drilling into plaster or brick, and screw the sensor back plate into the wall plugs. 5. Hook the Movement Detector front onto the back plate, close the two halves and re-tighten the screw at the bottom of the sensor.
Using the adhesive pad To mount the detector using the adhesive pad, simply cut to size, apply to device and then to the mounting surface. Additional Information The Movement Detector with inbuilt camera is a Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensor, however it will not pick up and report motion back to the gateway wirelessly as normal movement detector to preserve battery life (alarm off mode). Testing Before fixing the Motion Detector with inbuilt camera permanently in place, you should test it to ensure that it is operating normally and within communicating range of the gateway. The Test Mode is designed for you to test IR detection range only, not for PIR camera shooting coverage. To test the Motion Detector: 1. Press the learn button on the gateway, it will beep once. 2. Press and hold (min. 10 seconds) the clear button on the front of the Movement Detector with inbuilt camera until the gateway beeps twice, to indicate the Movement Detector is registered and within range. 3. If the gateway receives a signal transmitted from the the PIR camera successfully, the gateway will emit a double beep sound to indicate its communicating with the gateway. 4. Press the learn button on the panel a second time, again to exit test mode. If the panel does not beep as described then the sensor may be out of range or out of battery power. Try repositioning it closer to the panel and then test again. Troubleshooting Q: I ve just powered up my Movement Detector with inbuilt camera what does the blue LED on the front of the sensor indicate? A: The blue LED on the front of the PIR camera won t give any status indication except PIR camera s communication is experiencing a problem or PIR camera has a fault. 1. When you first power the sensor by removing the battery insulator tab (or add a new battery) the LED will flash to indicate it is powering up. It will continue to flash for approximately 20 seconds. Upon powering up of your sensor you should leave it for approximately 1 minute so that it can settle into normal operation. 2. Blue LED will flash once every 20 seconds to indicate PIR camera s communication is experiencing a problem or PIR camera is not being learnt into the gateway. 3. If the PIR camera is in the warming-up period while the gateway has a fault, the blue LED will light up for 30 seconds.
4. If PIR camera is triggered, the blue LED will light up for around 2 seconds while the gateway has a fault. 5. The blue LED flashes rapidly to indicate that the PIR camera is transmitting pictures to the gateway while it has a fault. 6. The blue LED lights on for 1-2 seconds whenever an image is captured while the gateway has a fault. Q: Why would I need to change the settings of individual sensors? A: As with any alarm, you can change individual sensor settings for your System so that your alarm is set up to suit your personal preferences. For example you can set different zones in your property so you can part set your system i.e. set your downstairs sensors at night whilst you sleep, whilst keeping the upstairs sensors inactive so you do not trigger them in the night. You can also set entry and exit zones as well as other functions. Q: I have just tried to add the sensor to my system and I can t get it to learn in correctly as it s not showing in My Equipment in my online account, what can I do? A: First of all check the sensor. Ensure the batter insulator tab has been fully removed and check that the case of the sensor is not open or damaged. To check the battery is working press the clear button on the front of your sensor, it should flash when pressed. If this doesn t happen then you need to contact us regarding a replacement. If you have just activated your sensor/changed the battery, leave it for a few minutes after powering it up so that it can settle into normal operation. Go through the learn process again and ensure that the sensor is within range of the Control Panel. Battery The Movement Detector with inbuilt camera uses two AA sized 3.6V Lithium battery. Low battery 2.7V±3% detection operates where the PIR Camera has enough reserve energy to typically operate for 1 month before complete exhaustion. The low battery signal will be sent to the control panel along with regular signal transmissions for the Control Panel to display the status accordingly. Note: When changing batteries, after removing the old batteries, press the Learn Button twice to fully discharge before inserting new batteries. Changing the battery 1. Ensure that the alarm panel is in the Disarmed (alarm off) mode. 2. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the detector and separate the front and back covers. 3. Remove the old battery and replace with two new AA sized 3.6V Lithium battery. Ensure that the polarity is correct (shown on device). 4. Replace the front cover onto the back plate and tighten the screw at the bottom of the sensor. **Test your sensor with new battery inside to ensure it is working properly**
