Advancing Diversity in Technology The Advancing Diversity in Technology Community is dedicated to supporting and promoting workforce diversity; helping companies create work environments inclusive of all people regardless of age, cultural background, physical abilities, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation. Advancing Women in Technology (AWIT) The AWIT Community provides networking opportunities, develops member-driven initiatives and programs, and are active in legislation involving women and careers. Cloud The Cloud Community consists of independent IT software vendors, solutions providers and industry thought leaders working together to drive new ideas in cloud computing. Future Leaders The Future Leaders Community strives to consider the different characteristics of this next generation of IT leaders and what that means to their careers while helping future leaders grow in their careers. IT Security The IT Security Community monitors, discusses and evaluates new technologies in the IT security field as they present new opportunities and challenges for businesses. IT Services & Support (ITSS) The ITSS Community is dedicated to helping technical services remain relevant and profitable while also increasing the collaboration between service providers and vendors in the delivery of warranty services. Managed Services The Managed Services Community works together to advance the industry through the promotion of best practices, the development of tools and templates and the refining of educational tracks for MSPs. UK Channel The UK Channel Community offers companies engaged in IT delivery services a forum for UK-specific discussion. COUNCILS CompTIA Member Councils CompTIA Advisory Councils provide strategic, near-term insight and thought leadership to CompTIA s administrative staff, member communities, Board of Directors, and the IT industry as a whole. These invitation-only strategic councils identify, discuss, debate and prioritize guidance on industry issues and challenges affecting specific channel players across the IT and telecom industries and are led by some of the most senior executives in the IT Channel. 10 COUNCILS CompTIA Public Sector Councils Our public sector councils serve as a collaborative source of knowledge, educational outreach and guidance to support and improve the development of the state and local government, human services, and space enterprise markets. Guided by CompTIA staff and led by CompTIA members, these strategic councils identify, discuss, debate and prioritize guidance on industry issues and challenges. Member companies have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with program leaders and elected officials while effectively monitoring key legislative issues that affect their ability to do business. Our Human Services Information Technology Advisory Group (HSITAG) serves as a collaborative source of knowledge, educational outreach and guidance to improve the delivery of human services programs. We serve as a resource to improve the level of communication and enhance partnerships between State and Federal Human Services agencies, non-profits and the private sector IT firms that serve this market. We aim to elevate the level of professionalism and promote open and fair competition in Human Service procurements. Our Space Enterprise Council (SEC) represents the United States space industry and brings a unique voice to policy discussions centered on exploration, space and innovative technology convergence, and the impact of the space program on economic prosperity and national security. Founded in 2000, SEC represents all sectors of the space industry, including commercial, civil and national security interests. Our State & Local Government and Education (SLED) Council is a consortium of executives from leading technology companies who share a common mission to be The Voice of the IT Industry Serving the State & Local Government and Education (SLED) market. 11 Advocacy SUPPORTING POLICIES ON BEHALF OF THE TECH INDUSTRY. OUR EXTENSIVE PUBLIC ADVOCACY NETWORK key decision makers at the state, federal and international levels to advocate for you and your business. As your industry representative, our Federal Policy team works with members of the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch to communicate and champion member-driven business and IT priorities. Our State Government Affairs (SGA) team provides state-level tracking, advocacy and grassroots support for the tech industry at state houses across the country. Our SGA team also analyzes and develops policy positions on literally thousands of pieces of legislations introduced in those state house that impact the tech industry. Ours is a 50-state approach with vigorous lobbying on behalf of our membership. Our Trade Regulation & Compliance (TRC) practice advocates for transparent and streamlined trade laws and regulations to help you minimize risk, optimize trade operations, and improve your bottom line. By monitoring customs and export laws and regulations in Washington, D.C. as well as major trading partner companies, we press for action on issues that are most critical to our members. The TRC practice also assists members in developing a strong global trade compliance program and organization.
