3 INTRODUCTION Mission Statement Sharp Technical Services Group (TSG) continuously strives to develop new avenues to enhance the user s learning experience by providing technicians with online self-paced courses to learn the information and skills required to become Sharp Certified. Courses Sharp Academy Service Training provides a path for technicians to acquire certification on specific Sharp product families, as well as advanced subjects. A training course is broken down into several elements which consist of instructional videos, downloadable reference materials, and knowledge checks. For technicians that are new to Sharp and have limited or basic industry experience, it is recommended to begin with the MFP Core Systems course. This course assumes working knowledge of MFPs and is designed to familiarize the technician with Sharp MFP Core Systems' processes and operation. ROLES Service Manager's Role The Service Manager plays an active role in the training process of each technician. As the Service Manager for your respective dealership, you help to ensure that all Sharp 3T Instructors are up to date with the Sharp Academy Service Training 3T Certification and that they follow the Sharp approved certification process. Also, it is vital for the Service Manager to notify the DSS if a technician is no longer employed. 3T Instructor's Role As the 3T Instructor for your respective dealership, your responsibility is to assist the participants with their Sharp Academy Service Training. This would include but not limited to: Ensuring that the participant has access to the Internet and sufficient time to complete the training. Tracking your participants as they progress through Sharp Academy. Provide an MFP for hands-on training, if available. Upon the successful completion of the certification process, the 3T Instructor will register the participant s certification with Sharp TSG *. * If a technician does not achieve a passing grade for a certification course, please contact your DSS immediately. 4 Participant s Role To begin your training, go to the Sharp Academy website, sharp-idncservice.com. 1. Log in with your Sharp Username and Password. 2. Click Sharp Education Center, then Sharp Academy. 3. Click On-Demand Training, then Log In. 4. Select one of the Available Courses from the menu. Training is self paced and time to complete a subject will vary based on content. Course Components: Modules: Each subject-based section within a course that may contain the following: Instructional Videos that include a variety of topics, not limited to: -Trouble Codes -Simulation Codes Downloadable Reference Materials -Resource Documents -Troubleshooting Guides -Bulletins -Tech Tips Resource Document: A self-contained field service guide on the module s subject (e.g., Fusing) and includes, but is not limited to: Theory of Operation Trouble Codes SIM Codes Schematics Maintenance Certification is dependent on the course. For some courses, certification is based upon the completion of the entire course or a section of a course. Please refer to the course description for details. If your dealership has a Sharp Certified 3T Instructor, the instructor will go through the certification process with you. If your dealership does not have a 3T Instructor, then your Sharp DSS will assist you with your certification. Instructor Audit Policy: Any Sharp technician s certification may be audited for professional proficiency by a Sharp DSS, as follows: 1. A technician may be requested to demonstrate his/her technical proficiency with any MFP he/she has been certified in. (i.e., Uninstall and replace a component within the MFP, clearing a jam code, adding developer, etc.) 2. Pending the evaluation of proficiency by the DSS, the technician may retain his/her proficiency status or have the status suspended until he/she is revealuated by a Sharp DSS. 5 GETTING STARTED First Time Login: To start training, the first step is to log in to the Sharp Academy website, satech.sharpamericas.com. This website can be accessed directly or via link on one of the Sharp websites. 1.Click Log in from the available links within the Welcome Screen. 2.Click Enter Sharp Academy banner. 7. Enter required information (First Name, Last Name, Email Address, City/town, Country, Phone).

9 8. A message confirming any changes to the user profile will display. Click Continue. Click Home. 9. From the View profile page, click the Home tab to return to the Home page.
