3 Integration Design Document Template 1 Overview Cisco Tetration Analytics uses rich traffic flow telemetry to address critical data centre operational use cases. It uses both hardware and software agents as telemetry sources and performs advanced analytics on the data collected. Cisco Tetration Analytics system uses Role based access control and visibility of data depend on the role assigned to the user. Roles contain sets of Capabilities and are assigned to users on the Users page. A user can have any number of roles. Roles can have any number of capabilities. This rich information in the cluster is discovered through RESTful interfaces supported by Cisco Tetration Analytics to populate ServiceNow CMDB. 2 Application Dependencies MID server must be accessible from ServiceNow instance The Mid Server needs be able to communicate with the ServiceNow instance directly Ensure the proxies are set properly Tetration_API [Tetration_API.zip] from Cisco Tetration Application should be installed on Mid Server Cisco Tetration Analytics must be accessible from MID server Cisco Tetration Analytics APIs must be allowed from MID server NOTE - Tetration_API [Tetration_API.zip] can be installed on any Linux machines that can reach both Mid Server and Cisco Tetration Analytics Cluster. However, it is highly recommended to install it on the Mid Server. 3 Configuration Instructions API Server Requirements and Installation v Requirement A Linux machine (Ubuntu OR CentOS) v Installation To download the Tetration API Server, go to Applications under System Applications -> Cisco Tetration Application Page: 3 of 8

4 Integration Design Document Template Download Tetration_API.zip from Manage Attachments [On name]. Unzip this on the machine you wish to install the Tetration API Server on and execute tetration_start.sh file. This installs all the dependencies and starts the server on port: 80. top of the v Recommendation Install the API Server on the same machine as the Mid Server Create an Integration User (System Security -> Users) and assign CiscoTetrationAdmin and mid_server roles to the user to user the integration application. Cisco Tetration Discovery v Steps to configure the applications to discover Cisco Tetration Analytics are as below: Login to the service now instance. On the left hand top corner, in the search menu enter Cisco Tetration Application. This should open up the Cisco Tetration Application menu. (As shown in the snapshot below). Page: 4 of 8

5 Integration Design Document Template In the menu, under Cisco Tetration Discovery Sets. Click on Cisco Tetration IP Sets -> New button to configure the Cisco Tetration Cluster to be discovered.( as shown in snapshot below) To run discovery select the record and click on the Cisco Tetration Discovery button To run the scheduled discovery navigate under Scripts, click on Cisco Tetration Scheduled Job then Cisco Tetration Discovery v Discovered inventory data is stored in different CMDB tables. To view Tetration Analytics Inventory, click on Tables under the Cisco Tetration Analytics menu from the application menu. Page: 5 of 8

6 Integration Design Document Template 4 External systems connection If your application contains other components please clearly outline them here and provide integration user creation instructions: Connectivity to Tetration Cluster should be present. 5 Testing the configuration Make sure the following are accessible to discover the Cisco Tetration Analytics Cluster. MID server is accessible from Service Now instance Tetration API Server is accessible from Mid Server Cisco Tetration Analytics Cluster is accessible from MID server Cisco Tetration Analytics Cluster is accessible from API server Cisco Tetration Analytics REST APIs are allowed from MID server Cisco Tetration Analytics REST APIs are allowed from Tetration API server Page: 6 of 8

7 Integration Design Document Template 6 Demo Data 7 Support and Troubleshooting 7.1 Service Level Agreement Definition In this section, you define the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for your customers. Customers will be instructed to contact the integration provider (your organization) for technical support. If a customer first contacts ServiceNow Customer Support, then ServiceNow Customer Support will isolate the problem and instruct the customer to resolve the issue with your organization. Support Hours of Operation: 8am 5pm EST Support Days of Operation: Monday Friday excluding holidays Promised Call Response Time: 4 hours Promised Call Resolution Time: 5 business days Contact Method: Contact Details: insbu-servicenow@cisco.com 7.2 Troubleshooting ServiceNow Logs: The scripts uses gs.error () and gs.info () methods to print errors and information messages respectively. The application logs under system logs will contain all the logs for the application. Page: 7 of 8

8 Integration Design Document Template Critical error messages are listed as Error and debug statements are listed as Information. Mid Server Logs The error logs are populated in the file Agent0.log on the MidServer. Path = /servicenow/<mid server name>/agent_folder/logs/agent0.log These logs are also available from the instance. Go to, Mid Server -> Server -> [Specific Record] Mid Server. Click on Grab Mid Logs under the Related Links. API Server Logs API Sever logs are available in the same directory the API Server is installed on and has complete information about API calls being made to the Tetration Cluster and their responses.
