5 STEP 4: Once you re ensured that all of them have filled the Candidate Identification Sheet, call for their full attention and read this script to them: PHASE SCRIPT TO READ Greetings Good morning/afternoon. My name is and I will be serving as the Invigilator for today s exam session. On behalf of PECB, I want to welcome you and wish you success in your efforts. If you have any questions while listening to these instructions, please raise your hand. Before we begin, I will explain the process and general rules for today's session. Authorized materials rules At this time, please turn off all cell phones, beepers and other electronic devices until you leave the assessment area. You are authorized to use only those reference materials that have been approved by PECB for your particular assessment (A printed copy of the standard, printed Participant s handout and a hard copy dictionary). You are responsible for your own reference materials. You will not be allowed to share reference materials of any kind during the session. No talking or material s comparison between candidates will be allowed. Please place all non-allowed materials (designed a place) now. If you have a question about any reference materials, please raise your hand. (Pause) General rules The following rules will be observed at all times during the exam session: smoking, eating, drinking or talking are not permitted. You will also find specific exam rules, in the screen just before you attempt this exam. You are only allowed to write down your answers/notes/comments on the box electronically, not in any other document, such as your personal notes, even if these are part of the authorized reference material. If during this session you need to use the restroom, please raise your hand. Only one person at a time will be permitted to leave the room. While outside the examination room, you are not permitted to talk to anyone. Restrooms are located (give directions to the restrooms). I cannot answer questions about the exam questions, but if during the exam you have a question about the exam rules, raise your hand and wait for me to come to you. If you finish early, stay in your seat and raise your hand. I will come to your desk to ensure that the exam session is completed correctly. After this, you can leave quietly the room. Exams length will be shown before you attempt the exam and also a countdown timer will be visible to you during all the time while you have the exam open. If you don t complete the exam within given time, the system will submit it automatically after the time is exired. INVIGILATOR GUIDE - COMPUTER BASED EXAMS 5

6 PHASE SCRIPT TO READ If you have any question regarding these rules, please raise your hand. (Pause) Required identification information Thank you for filling the Exam Registration Form with your details. Now, please put an ID card with a picture on the table so I can come and verify your identity. If you have any questions, please raise your hand. Start validating their ID card with information provided in the form to ensure that they match and also the person sitting the exam is the same as in photo ID. After you validate a candidate continue by filling the Invigilator Form as described in STEP 5 and continue with other following steps. Beginning of the examination You read this text below when you have everyone at STEP 8! If there are no more questions, then you may begin. It s now: (Give the time). 7 STEP 5: Click Invigilator form in the row of the exam that the candidate is taking today STEP 6: Fill the invigilator form and click Save INVIGILATOR GUIDE - COMPUTER BASED EXAMS 7

8 STEP 7: Click Attempt Now in the row of the exam that you ve opened for this candidate IMPORTANT NOTE 1: In case you ve opened a wrong exam for this candidate, just select Invigilator Form for the correct exam and repeat STEP 6 and 7. STEP 8: Click Attempt Now and let the candidate read the text. IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Ensure that all candidates have at least 5 minutes to read the agreement and arrange/synchronize that all the candidates click Exam Start approximately the same time. 9 STEP 9: Ask candidates to select OK STEP 10: Candidates will have the interface to read and add their answers. Once they re done they can click Finish Exam and the exam will be forwarded to us and the session will be logged out. INVIGILATOR GUIDE - COMPUTER BASED EXAMS 9
