Welcome to Blackboard Logging In To access your course, go to Click on Login, and enter your User Name and Password. This will be the same user name and password you use to check and your grades (if you do not know your user name and password, just call the Computer and Technology office at ).
The first screen that you will see in Blackboard will be your Portal page. To see the link(s) to your course(s), look for the section on this page entitled My Courses. Once you find the link to your course (for example, Introduction to Fine Arts ), click on it and you will be taken to your course.
The first area you will see in the course will be the Announcements area. On the left side of the screen is a menu with links to each page in the course. Below is an overview of these links: Announcements This is the first page in your online course. Every time you visit your course, you will enter first into the Announcements area. This is the place where you can read important information about your class; for example, Don t forget to prepare for your Exam next Friday. Study Chapters 1-5. or, There is no class next Tuesday. Begin Here The Begin Here link will provide you with a course orientation, as well as valuable information you will need to be successful in the course. It may even have a welcome video you can view to get to know your professor. Syllabus Click here to access your Course Syllabus. Course Schedule
Your course may or may not have a Course Schedule. Click here to access your Course Schedule. The schedule is also located under Syllabus and Course Material, but here you can print the schedule by itself. Course Material The Course Material page is where you will find any lectures, PowerPoint presentations, or handouts in your online course or course extension. Discussion Board The Discussion Board is set up for a bulletin-board type of communication. Basically, the instructor can post a Discussion Question here, and you can come in on your own time schedule and post responses to that question. You can also respond to comments posted by your classmates.

Communication Under Communication you will find links to Collaboration (Virtual Classroom), Discussion Board, Group Pages, Messages (Class ), and the Class Roster. In Collaboration, you, your classmates, and the instructor can use a chat room to talk to each other. Once you enter, you will be instructed to accept a free download when you open this link. Make sure all pop-up blockers have been turned off. Please say yes to the download.
