hapter 3: Usage Instruction In this chapter, we will introduce the basic usage of ANWiFi-200T and the related hardware and software installation settings. You can quickly grasp the usage of it and have an intuitive understanding of the network and AN device communication through our introduction. Before using the ANWiFi-200T device, we need to know the network parameters such as device IP address. ANWiFi-200T device supports two ways to obtain the IP address, including Static Acquisition and Dynamic Acquisition. Static Acquisition means that the device uses IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway specified by users; Dynamic Acquisition means that the device uses DHP protocol to obtain the information such as IP address, subnet mask and gateway from the DHP server on the network. 3.1 Device IP Factory Setting The default IP address of ANWiFi-200T device is onnect and obtain Device IP When users forget the device IP address or the device uses DHP protocol to obtain the IP address automatically, the current device IP can be obtained through ZNetom software. ZNetom software is the configuration software of ANWiFi-200T device running on the Windows platform. No matter what the current ANWiFi-200T device IP is, you can obtain the current device IP through ZNetom software and configure the IP. Use Znetom software to obtain the ANWiFi-200T device IP as follows: 1. onnect the hardware to power up the device with 9~24V D power supply, and use a crossover cable to connect the LAN port of the device to the P network port. In addition, when the WLAN of ANWiFi-200T operates in the AP mode and the LAN port is not connected, users can search and find the ANWiFi-200T device via the network interface card of P, as shown in Figure 3-1. The P wireless network interface card is set to automatically obtain IP, and input the password of " " when connection. 11

Figure 4-2: Use the ZNetom software to search for the device 4.1 AP Hotspot Mode AP mode means that ANWiFi-200T as a wireless hotspot accepts the connection from other WiFi devices, just like a wireless router. This mode can be configured via ZNETOM software. After get the device information as shown in Figure 4-3, select "Wireless mode" as AP and set the wireless band (the default value is 7) in the WIFI Information. The "WIFI name" is the SSID broadcast name that can be searched; the encryption mode is "no password" or "WPA / WPA2"; users can choose no encryption or WPA / WPA2 encryption mode, the latter one requires users to fill in the password in the following WIFI password so that only visitors who know the password can connected to ANWiFi. Figure 4-3: Set AP hotspot mode After the modification is submitted, restart the device to enter the normal operation, and then P or other WiFi devices can search the ANWIFI-200T SSID broadcast of ANWiFi-200T, as shown in Figure

4.2 Station lient Mode Figure 4-4: Set the AP mode successfully Station mode means that ANWiFi-200T, as a client, connects to an AP hotspot (such as wireless router) to achieve wireless network access function. To use this function, the SSID, wireless channel, encryption mode and encryption key (do not need password key if no encryption) of the router or other AP hotspots to be connected should be known. Figure 4-5 shows the wireless configuration of a TP-LINK wireless router. Figure 4-5: Wireless router configuration Then the ZNETOM software can be used to configure the ANWIFI-200T device, as shown in Figure 4-6. Fill in the wireless message of TP-LINK router into the corresponding window. 29 Figure 4-6: Set the Station mode 25

hapter 5: Operating Mode The ANWiFi-200T device has three operating modes, which will be described in the following sections. 5.1 TP Server mode Figure 5-1: ommunication in the TP Server mode In the TP Server mode, the ANWiFi-200T device never connects to other devices actively, but always waits for the connection from TP lients. The bi-directional communication is performed as soon as the TP connection between the ANWiFi-200T device and a client is established. The communication is established as shown in Figure 5-1. Notes: A client connects to the ANWiFi-200T device through the corresponding operating port (see Table 61) of AN port in this mode. 5.2 TP lient mode Figure 5-2: ommunication in the TP lient mode In the TP lient mode, the ANWiFi-200T device connects to the preset TP server actively. If the connection is not established successfully, the client continues to try 26

based on the set connection condition. The bi-directional communication is performed as soon as the TP connection between the ANWiFi-200T device and TP server is established. The communication is established as shown in Figure 5-2. Notes: In this mode, TP server IP is determined by destination IP (see Table 6-1) ; TP server port is determined by destination port (see Table 6.1). There are totally 6 groups of valid destination port and destination IP, and the device will connect to the TP server specified by these 6 groups of parameters in turn based on predefined number of connections until the connection is established successfully. 5.3 UDP mode Figure 5-3: ommunication in the UDP mode The communication uses UDP protocol in the UDP mode. The UDP is a kind of communication mode independent of connections, which cannot guarantee that the data package sent to a destination host is correctly received, therefore the correctness of data should be ensure through the communication protocol of high layer in the situation with strict reliability requirement; However, since the UDP mode is a relatively simple communication mode, it does not increase the excess additional traffic, and provide a higher communication speed than the TP mode to guarantee the real time of data. Actually, the errors do not often occur in this mode in the situation with simple network and low network communication load. Furthermore, in the UDP mode, there are no servers and clients, and all devices are equal. The communication process is shown in Figure 5-3. Notes: In this mode, the ANWiFi-200T device uses the operating port (see Table 6-1) to receive the UDP data package sent by the user device; The data received from the AN port of ANWiFi-200T device will be sent to 6 groups of valid destination port (see Table 6-1) of destination IP (see Table 6-1). 27

hapter 6: ZNetom Software onfiguration The ZNetom software based on WINDOWS is the configuration software specialized for ANWiFi-200T devices. Users can get the IP of ANWiFi-200T device, view and modify device configuration parameters, update device firmware, etc. through this software. 6.1 Install the configuration software Place the product D into D-ROM and open it, then double click the ZNetom2.82_Setup.exe file shown in Figure 6-1 to start installation. The UDP protocol does not need to establish any connection; therefore it only need to receive/send data from/to the destination IP and destination port in the UDP protocol transmission. In the UDP mode, the ANWiFi-200T device can communicate with multiple network devices with different IP addresses simultaneously through setting destination IP. 35

Type Name Default Value Description It is the operating port for AN communication. The operating port for AN0 is 4001 port; the operating port for AN1 is 4002 port. Users can modify them at Operating port 4001~4002 random. Please note that some ports are used by other network protocols. These operating ports transmit AN frames in the specified format. For details about the format, please see Appendix 7.2. It is the AN status information port port for AN0; 5002 port for AN1. Users can modify them at random. Please note that some ports are used by Error notification port 5001~5002 other network protocols. These ports are used for AN status feedback. Once they are connected, the AN configuration warning information will be issued when the corresponding AN interface generates error. For Overtime disconnection time (10ms) AN Baud rate (HEX) details, please see Appendix 7.3. The value of the item can be 0 or 100~ It is meaningful only when the TP protocol is used for communication. After the TP connection is established, the timer begins to count down (the unit of time is 10ms) when the AN or Ethernet interface received last data. If no data is received when the timeout expires, the TP connection should be disconnected. The value of 0 indicates the connection is never disconnected. The baud rate is selected from 5K~1000K. The unit is Kbps. 36

Type Name Default Value Description The value of the item can be 1~50. When the AN port consecutively receives data ( the interval is less than the sub-package interval), if the number of received AN frames is equal to the number of sub-package frame, the received data is encapsulated as an Ethernet package and then sent to the network port. The number of sub-package frame means the maximum number of frames in a data package. If the number of received AN frames is less than the Number of sub-package frame 1 number of sub-package frame, but the frame interval is greater than the sub-package interval, then the received data will also be encapsulated as an Ethernet package to send. AN configuration If the number of sub-package frame is set to 1, it means the data is not encapsulated, and each AN frame is sent as an Ethernet package. The real time Sub-package interval (ms) TP Turbo 1 Disable performance is best and the network load is the maximum in this situation. When the number of sub-package frame is set to 50, the channel traffic is largest and the network load is minimal. The value of the item can be 1~254. When the AN port does not receive new data frame within the sub-package interval (in the unit of ms), and the number of received AN frames is less than the number of sub-package frame, then all data frames that were previously received and have not been sent are encapsulated into an Ethernet packet and sent to the network port. Since the advanced fast transfer algorithm is used, it does not need to start TP Turbo. 37

Type Name Default Value Description When the ANWiFi-200T operates in the TP Server mode, each AN port has maximum 200 TP connections by default without the need of configuration. Number of TP connections (Number of destination IP segments) 3 When the ANWiFi-200T operates in the TP lient mode, this item is used to define the number of connected IP segments that can be established when the AN port performs communication. The maximum value is 6. When the ANWiFi-200T operates in the UDP mode, this item is used to define the number of IP segments in which the network device communicates with the corresponding AN port. The maximum value is 6. The value of the item can be 1~ It is only valid in the TP lient and UDP mode. This item is used to define the port of the network device that AN configuration Destination port Subnet mask Start address communicates with the ANWiFi-200T device. Only the data sent via this port can be received by the ANWiFi-200T device, meanwhile, the data received via the AN port of ANWiFi-200T device also is sent to this port via Ethernet. The subnet mask can be used to determine the network host number and whether the host number is legal. For example, network segment of x, if the subnet mask is , then the IP address of is the broadcast address, which cannot be used to indicate the host, but if the subnet mask is , is a legal device address. It is only valid in the TP lient and UDP mode. This item is used to define the destination IP address, i.e., the IP address of the network device that communicates with the ANWiFi-200T device (it also can be the start IP of IP address segment). It also can be domain name. 38

Type Name Default Value Description It is only valid in the TP lient and UDP mode. This item is used to define the end IP of IP address segment. If there is only 1 destination address, the end address is equal to the start address. Note: If an IP address is filled in this item to enable End address multiple network devices to communicate with the AN configuration Destination port Subnet mask Start address End address ANWiFi-200T device simultaneously, the first three bytes of the IP address segment must meet the limit of subnet mask 1, and the fourth byte of the end address should be greater than or equal to the fourth byte of the start IP address. This item can be filled in 1~ The function of them is same as the destination port 1. Users should set the number of TP connections before enable them. They are used for mask. Users should set the number of TP connections before enable them. The function of them is same as the start address 1. Users should set the number of TP connections before enable them. The function of them is same as the end address 1. Users should set the number of TP connections before enable them. The default value of each AN1 parameter is exactly the same, except for operating port, destination port, destination IP. The meaning of these parameters is the same as the corresponding AN0 parameter, so they are not listed in the above table. 6.4 Save and restore settings To facilitate users to modify the configuration information of the ANWiFi-200T device in batches, the ZNetom software provides configuration information import/export function. The Import/Export function button is placed on the property bar, as shown in Figure Figure 6-11: Import/export device configuration information Save settings lick the Export button, and then select the directory and input the file name in the 39

pop-up Save as dialog box (as shown in Figure 6-12). The device configuration information is saved in XML format after click the Save button. Figure 6-12: Save device configuration information Restore settings lick the Import button, and select saved device configuration information file in the pop-up Open dialog box (as shown in Figure 6-13). After click the Open button, the ZNetom software imports the configuration saved in the file. Figure 6-13: Open device configuration information 6.5 Upgrade the firmware The ANWiFi-200T series device support local firmware upgrade. When the ZNetom software is used to upgrade the ANWiFi-200T device, the P and ANWiFi-200T device should be in the same network segment. The firmware 40

upgrade steps are as follows: 1. Select the device to be upgrade in the device list of ZNetom software and right-click it, and then the menu shown in Figure 6-14 appears. Figure 6-14: Firmware upgrade menu 2. Select the Upgrade firmware option in the menu and the firmware upgrade interface as shown in Figure 6-15 appears. Input the password (the default value is 88888) and select the upgrade file in the interface, and then click the Open button. Figure 6-15: Firmware upgrade interface 41

3. lick the Upgrade firmware button, and the device begins to upgrade firmware, as shown in Figure Figure 6-16: In progress of firmware upgrade 4. The firmware upgrade will be completed in one minute (as shown in Figure 6-17), and the system will be initialized and started after 30 seconds. Figure 6-17: Firmware upgrade completed! If the upgrade fails due to an accident (such as power down, network cable disconnected), users only need to power up the device and search for upgrade again. 42

hapter 7: Appendix 7.1 Data conversion format of ANWiFi-200T operating port 43

The following example is the representation for a standard data frame with the ID of 0x0001, which includes 8 bytes of data (0x00, 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x04, 0x05, 0x06, and 0x07): 0xfe 0xfd 0x00 0x08 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x01 0x00 0x01 0x02 0x03 0x04 0x05 0x06 0x07 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0a When users send AN frames through P, it should not exceed the maximum AN transmission traffic of device. For example, if a standard data frame is sent at 1000Kbps baud rate, the maximum AN transmission speed is frame/s. Even if P can send data at a high speed, the AN device is not able to do that; and the buffer will overflow even though there is a large buffer in the device. In addition, the ANWIFI-200T device has limited WIFI transmission ability; therefore it is recommended that the AN frames sent by each AN per second should not exceed 5800 frames. 7.2 Data conversion format of the TP notification port for the AN status of ANWiFi-200T After the TP notification port corresponded to a AN channel is connected, it will send status warning to the host when any AN error occurs. The format of TP package data section is as follows: AAh 00h MD Time1 Time2 Time3 Time4 55h Fixed format. AAh 00h for package header, 55h for package tail. MD Status code Time1 Time2 Time3 Time4 Error count (32 bit). High byte in front, i.e., Time1 is high byte. MD Value Meaning of the status Time Error Notification (ANWiFi-200T device) ount Value ycle (second) 01h The transmit buffer of Ethernet will overflow. 0 2s 02h The transmit buffer of Ethernet has overflowed s 03h The receive buffer of Ethernet will overflow. 0 2s 04h The receive buffer of Ethernet has overflowed s 05h AN controller transmission error alarm (transmission error count > 96) Frequency 2s 06h AN controller reception error alarm (reception error count > 96) Frequency 2s 07h AN controller transmission error passive (transmission error count > 127) Frequency 2s 44
