4 Mexico Petroleum Telepresence Project Pemex, the largest petroleum company in Mexico, is ranked No. 51 in world top 500. It uses video communications for communication among its offices and production bases in the country. Customer's Challenges More than 500 sets of devices provided by various vendors are used. Therefore, equipment interworking and user experience are poor. Live network devices have been used over five years. The maintenance cost for these old devices is relatively high. In addition, some vendors that provided these devices have shut down their factories. Live network devices are incompatible with the new OCS/Lync system that is in use. Huawei provided Pemex with more than 200 sets of telepresence products including 2XX single-screen TP100s and X dual-screen TP200s. These telepresence products were delivered in 50 days, which helped Pemex address the preceding challenges in time. Conferences with high-definition displays: 1080P@50/60 HD displays with hi-fi speaker systems are used for conferences. Low bandwidth usage: A bandwidth of 768 kbit/ s provides the 720-pixel visual effect for video conferencing, and a bandwidth of one MB provides the 1080-pixel visual effect. Compared with other vendors, Huawei telepresence products can generate the same visual effect using only half of the bandwidth that is used in other vendors' solutions. 5 Saudi Aramco: A smart way of conferencing and alerting network Huawei provides Saudi Aramco with a unified conference system solution, which includes two sets of pre-warning and conference systems and two sets of disaster recovery devices (the M2000). Saudi Aramco, one of the world's top 10 petroleum companies, has fixed the public switched telephone network (PSTN), cluster scheduling network, and data and transmission network all over Saudi Arabia. Its networks are primarily used for its national service communications. It has 130,000 online users. Saudi Aramco's existing systems has the following disadvantages: Their insufficient network capacity cannot meet the growing market demands. 6 Iraq Halfaya Oilfield Cluster Communications Project The proved petroleum reserves for Iraq Halfaya oilfield are rich, and Halfaya needs to increase its daily output to a significant level as soon as possible. A dedicated wireless network is required to implement voice cluster communication, improve the production efficiency, and achieve the oilfield's production goals. Build two base transceiver stations (BTSs) that cover 300 km ( mi.) by using the 3G CDMA-Evolution-Data only (EVDO) technology. Provide a complete set of solutions covering terminals and platform devices, and implement one-stop quick delivery. Digital Oilfield Production High-quality voice communication in the Halfaya oilfield: The patented power-control algorithm is used to achieve high network reliability, high-quality voice communication, and low call drop rate. Secure communication: The three-layer encryption mechanism is used to enable end-to-end voice and data encryption, bidirectional authentication between terminals and the key distribution center (KDC), and dynamic generation of keys with one key for one call. All IP architecture with large capacity: An all-ip architecture is built based on the CDMA-EVDO technology. The network supports an ultra-large capacity and can smoothly evolve to a 4G network. One network with multiple services supported: Push to talk (PPT), scheduling, voice, and high-speed data services can be simultaneously provided. Service switchover is easy to implement

7 11 Kazakhstan-China Natural Gas Pipeline Project Asia Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd. (AGP) is a joint venture of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Kazakhstan. The central Asia natural gas pipeline is the first multinational pipeline in China. It covers 1300 kilometers of Kazakhstan, and passes a main control center, five compressors, two metering stations, and 33 valve stations. Customer's challenges: The pipeline communications system is complicated, involving different industries; therefore, it is difficult to be constructed. Fundamental communication infrastructures must be reliable and secure for the construction of pipeline informationization. A powerful international communications vendor is required for the integrated delivery. Its live network devices include C&C08 switches private automatic branch exchanges (PABXs) and IPCCs from other vendors, and conference systems. Saudi Aramco plans to perform all IP reconstruction in 2012 and 2013 and upgrades the current network to the IMS network for implementing the Unified Communications. 10 CNPC Center Backbone Network Project The customer's network is constructed using hundreds of Huawei NE40Es, NE80s, NE40s, and NE20s, and resilient packet ring (RPR) networking is used for the core network. The redundancy design is used for all nodes and links. The network constructed using the solution is reliable and is free from single-point failures. CNPC plans to construct a wide area network (WAN) that is headquartered in Beijing and is divided into headquarters, regional center, and regional company. In this WAN, 205 branches in 12 areas are connected. Customer's challenges: An integrated bearing backbone network that is reliable and is free from single-point failures, and works all day must be constructed as soon as possible. High quality of key services, for example, video service must be available. Link load sharing must be implemented to increase the resource usage. All regional nodes are reconstructed by using the NE40E to construct a RPR ring network. Differentiated services are scheduled by deploying H-QoS to ensure the quality of key services.
