2 Deluxe s BDN Broadcast Delivery Network delivers crisp, clear, uninterrupted video, enabling global delivery and control of any live broadcast stream. Four global NOCs (Network Operation Centres) manage the network 24/7/365. Broadcast technicians establish links between senders and receivers, monitor feed performance and establish optimal routes. All NOC operations such as routing, monitoring and recording are performed in the PortaLive web browser interface. This enables global network operations from any internet connected computer. Five global datacentres enable the actual data transport over public internet using redundant multipath over multiple carriers to establish a resilient distribution network with % availability. The Deluxe Broadcast Delivery Protocol (BDP) enables low-latency packet healing and jitter removal across public networks. The Deluxe BLUE LABEL network gateway enables multiple low-latency BDP transport streams across any network with packet healing and jitter removal. Aggregation points in the BDN utilise a high-performance BLACK LABEL with the same functionality as the BLUE LABEL but with the ability to manage up to 128 broadcast feeds each. The Deluxe YELLOW LABEL software encoders/decoders provide up to 4:2:2 10-bit processing with advanced audio formats achieving market leading performance on non-proprietary hardware. TOC (Technical Operations Centre) and R&D facilities located in Sweden provide back and front-end development services, solution architecture and 3 rd line support. The TOC also acts as a shared BDN resource for complex deployments and configurations.

3 1. Network Operation Centres NOC The Deluxe BDN Broadcast Delivery Network is a managed service with technicians and operators available 24/7/365 in Network Operation Centres on four continents. The NOC staff provide 1 st and 2 nd line support to BDN customers. The Deluxe TOC Technical Operations Centre provides 3rd line support. NOC operations are carried out in the PortaLive browser based interface where each customer is assigned a unique login with the ability to configure the system to meet their specific requirements, including cross-point control, any number of dynamic router configurations, time delay, automated and manual failover control of resilient path streams as well as recording and playback of all live streams to any broadcast format. PortaLive core features include full, limitless, live video stream routing of IP-based signals with limitless cross-points to any destination. PortaLive serves as a WAN router dynamically transporting video via IP between any connected offices/stations around the globe. PortaLive controls all common MCR functions such as switching, routing, recording, playback, time delay, monitoring and analytics via a secure web browser interface.

4 2. Globally interconnected datacentres Video transport streams are routed on the public Internet through five global datacentres with more than 70 Points of Presence (POP) worldwide. The datacentres are connected to multiple ISPs and utilise advanced failover techniques such as multi-pathing to achieve a % availability of network streams. In the BDN datacentres, several high-performance BLACK LABEL network gateways process up to 128 encrypted broadcast feeds each. BDN datacentres are interconnected in an extended star configuration. The BLACK LABEL network gateway takes a single incoming unicast stream and re-distributes it to any number of takers. Broadcast streams can be routed across several datacentres to avoid network congestion and other disturbances related to the Internet s IP architecture. The result is a % availability of live feeds across the BDN. This BDN backbone enables global low-latency distribution of any live event to any number of takers.

BDP - Broadcast Delivery Protocol The Deluxe BLUE LABEL network gateway enables up to 16 encrypted low-latency IP-streams across any network with packet healing and jitter removal using the in-house developed Deluxe Broadcast Delivery Protocol (BDP). Aggregation points in Deluxe s BDN datacentres utilise the high-performance BLACK LABEL to manage up to 128 encrypted broadcast streams each. Support for IP MPEG-TS, and in conjunction with YELLOW LABEL encoder/decoder, SDI RX & TX. Fully integrated with Deluxe s live streaming management console, PortaLive. The BLUE LABEL converts multicast traffic into unicast, for transport over wide area networks with point-to-point latency down to 40ms dependent on geographical locations. AES-256 real-time transport stream encryption of every IP-package. Certificates restricts linking only between authenticated units. For resilience, up to eight ISPs can be configured as a network pool. Migration to alternative paths within a pool occurs immediately and automatically. Network paths can be configured as active-active or load balanced. The BLUE LABEL supports MPTS and SPTS transport and can transmit and receive either combination. SPTS transport is recommended as it provides better resiliency across public networks.

6 4. Encoders and decoders The YELLOW LABEL encoder/decoder provides MPEG- 4/AVC/HEVC 4:2:2/4:2:0 8- and 10 bit encoding and decoding of broadcast video streams. The management interface is fully integrated into the PortaLive MCR, enabling global set-up, monitoring and control of encoder and decoder chains from any web browser. SD/HD-SDI with format detection. Outputs UDP/RTP over multicast and unicast. Supports SMPTE 2022 and Horizontal resize as permitted by ETSI TS Video formats: Hz, 23.98/24/25/50/59.94/60 Hz, 25, 29.97Hz, 50/59.94/60 Hz, 25Hz (PAL), 29.97Hz (NTSC), 4:3 and 16:9 Aspect Ratio signalling, WSS (converted to AFD or in DVB-VBI). Supports High Profile 4:2:2 encoding. Video Compression: MPEG-4/AVC/HEVC encoding. MBAFF, Adaptive GOP structure, Macroblock Tree Rate control, Psycho-visual Optimizations, Scene cut detection, Look-ahead CBR and Constrained VBR. Audio formats: Embedded audio with up to 8 stereo pairs. MPEG-1 Layer II AAC. SMPTE 302M audio (Dolby E mapping). AC3 pass-through. Multiplexing: MPEG Transport Stream with full T-STD compliance. DVB, ATSC, SCTE/CableLabs compliance. ADTS and LOAS/LATM. Program reference level metadata: AFD from VANC or Video Index. CEA-608/CEA-708 captioning. Teletext. OP-47 subtitles.

7 5. Sample network configuration Through global aggregation points the transmitting unit can reach any number of takers globally connected to the Deluxe BDN. This network diagram shows two routes for a single broadcast feed from a transmitter to receivers. Any number of takers for a single feed can be configured and routed through the PortaLive MCR. Multiple Tier 1/2 ISPs will provide the best compromise of cost versus resilience. 1. An HD-SDI signal is encoded by the YELLOW LABEL low-latency encoder on a multicast network. 2. The IP-encoded multicast video stream is fed into the transmitting BLUE LABEL network gateway. 3. The BLUE LABEL encrypts the feed and forwards it to the nearest BLACK LABEL aggregation point using the BDN protocol. 4. The BLACK LABEL sends the encrypted feed to one or multiple BLUE LABEL takers. 5. The receiving BLUE LABEL decrypts the incoming IP-stream and converts into a multicast video stream. 6. The receiving YELLOW LABEL decodes the multicast stream and outputs an SDI signal. Notes: Deluxe will provide complete managed endpoint solutions as part of its service offering. The network backbone is usually one or several ISPs and can be any fixed bandwidth network connection. A PortaLive MCR operator can switch the receiving BLUE LABEL gateways between active and standby units to resolve any potential fault conditions or perform maintenance.
