3 CONFIGURATIONS FACEPLATE OPTIONS The AG Series may be configured with a black anodized aluminum or a plastic faceplate, providing a near limitless combination of pushbutton and linear device configuration options. Faceplate configuration options include proportional Hall effect pushbuttons, latching LED pushbuttons, LED indicators, and proportional miniature joysticks. ELASTOMER KEYPAD The standard AG Series handle configuration features an elastomer keypad, providing controls that are intuitive and easy to use. Similar in concept to a television remote control, the ergonomic design acts as an extension of the operator and allows the user to interface with the machine more effectively for longer periods of time. The elastomer keypad is constructed of high quality black silicon and features 22 normally open switches, two status LEDs as well as ambient backlit blue LED illumination. The blue backlighting provides excellent joystick operation and visibility even in dimly lit conditions. For custom OEM applications, customer specific elastomer keypads are available for an additional charge. 8 CANbus J1939 ADDITIONAL OUTPUT OPTIONS CH Products AG CANbus joysticks conform to the SAE J1939 serial bus specification used for communications between electronic control units and vehicle components. The AG CANbus option provides I/O extension for up to eight digital and four analog inputs. 11 JOYBALL (CURSOR EMULATION)* ADDITIONAL OUTPUT OPTIONS AG series The Joyball option converts multi-axis joystick ouput into a mouse, trackball, or cursor control device. The joystick s internal microprocessor converts absolute axis position into a cursor velocity, which is translated as a relative trackball or mouse position. Supported protocols include Sun Microsystems (mouse systems 5vdc serial) and USB. APPLICATIONS The Joyball option is ideal for vehicle applications subjected to dirt and high vibration which make operating a traditional cursor control device difficult. The Joyball option is widely used in shipboard and military applications. 12 ADDITIONAL OUTPUT OPTIONS DUAL DECODE* Dual Decode utilizes a microprocessor to monitor two linear opposite-ramp signals for each joystick axis and provides one proportional (.5VDC VDC) and one logical output accordingly. The dual inversed signals are continuously monitored and a logical signal of VDC is provided for over-range (>VDC), under-range (<.5VDC) and signal tracking (sum of both signals equals V +/-1%) error. A logical signal of 5.VDC is provided for a properly functioning joystick deflected from center.
